Global star Kamal Hassan is featured in the upcoming film ‘Bharateeyudu 2‘, directed by renowned director Shankar. This film has generated considerable buzz on a national level. In this latest movie, the powerful combination of the world-renowned actor Kamal Hassan and the sensational director Shankar is once again showcased. Hero Siddharth plays a crucial role, with Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh as the heroines. The makers have already announced that the movie will be released on July 12. As part of the promotional activities, the film’s trailer was released on Tuesday (June 25), in which Kamal Hassan excelled in the role of a commander. However, some are targeting Kamal’s character and trolling him online.
What’s Causing the Trolls?
In ‘Bharateeyudu 2’, Kamal Hassan portrays a 106-year-old man. The trailer shows him appearing even older than the commander from ‘Bharateeyudu Part 1’, his face marked with wrinkles, engaging in action sequences that would challenge even younger heroes. Notably, he is depicted courageously eliminating corrupt officials. However, this portrayal has drawn criticism from netizens, who question the plausibility of a centenarian performing such vigorous action scenes. Critics argue that it is unrealistic for someone of his advanced age to move freely, much less execute stunts with such ease.
Shankar’s Counter
Responding to the online criticism of Kamal’s character in ‘Bharateeyudu 2’, director Shankar defended the portrayal, stating, “It is indeed possible for a 106-year-old to perform such fights. In China, a martial arts master named Luozia, who continues to perform aerial maneuvers and kicks at the age of 120, inspired this character. We based the commander’s role on him.” Shankar’s comments have gone viral online, garnering support from many internet users. They argue that films should be viewed as entertainment, without overanalyzing the logic, because scrutinizing every detail could diminish the enjoyment of movies.
