Starring Varun Sandesh, the film “Nindha,” directed by Rajesh Jagannadham, is presented under the theme “Kandrakota Mystery.” Annie, Tanikella Bharani, Bhadram, and Surya Kumar play significant roles. The already released trailer and teaser have captivated audiences. The film premiered on June 21. Did it manage to please viewers? Has it brought success to Varun Sandesh after his string of previous flops?

    What’s the story?

In the village of Kandrakota, Balraju (Chatrapati Shekhar) is arrested and condemned to death for the rape and murder of a girl named Munju. Distressed by the case, the presiding judge, Satyanand (Tanikella Bharani), dies, haunted by his inability to deliver a fair verdict. Driven to uncover the true perpetrator, the judge’s son, Vivek (Varun Sandesh), takes matters into his own hands. He kidnaps six people connected to the case, unveiling the actual facts. What does Vivek uncover? Which of the six is the real murderer? Can Vivek prevent the wrongful execution of Balraju? These questions form the core of the story.

    How did they perform?

Varun Sandesh, typically cast as a lover boy, takes on a new role as Vivek. His standout performance as a Human Rights Commissioner is impressive, with his effort visible in every scene, enhancing his stature as an actor. Chatrapati Shekhar and Madhu, portraying Balraju and Manju respectively, have also delivered captivating performances. The six kidnapped characters performed adequately, and other characters fulfilled their roles satisfactorily.

    How is the direction?

Incidents of people being punished for crimes they did not commit frequently make headlines. Director Rajesh Jagannadham commendably centers his film on this theme. The story begins with the abduction of six individuals, and the first half focuses on extracting the truth, which may feel prolonged and potentially bore the audience. However, the second half is more engagingly directed. It provides clear answers to the backstories of Balraju and Manju, the relevance of the six kidnapped individuals to the case, and other pivotal questions. An unexpected twist in the climax keeps the audience on edge. Despite some slow-paced scenes in the first half, the movie will appeal to fans of crime thrillers.

    Technically…

On the technical front, the background music is pleasing, although at times it overpowers the dialogues. The cinematography is good. Despite being shot in limited locations, the visuals are quite natural. The editing could have been tighter. The production values are appropriate for the film.
