The film, featuring de-aging technology, marks Vijay's last movie before his rumoured entry into politics, which has spiked expectations. However, it was released worldwide on Thursday, September 5. In Telugu-speaking regions, the film received mixed reviews, whereas in Tamil Nadu, it particularly captivated Vijay's fanbase and garnered a hit talk. On its first day, the movie grossed over Rs. 120 crore. Now, let’s see how the weekend collections shaped up. How Much Did The Weekend Collections Amount To? Vijay’s "The Goat" (The Greatest Of All Time) lived up to expectations at the box office, grossing Rs. 282.5 crore worldwide in the first four days, narrowly missing the Rs. 300 crore club. However, it set a record as the highest-grossing Tamil film of the year. Dhanush's recent film 'Raayan' crossed lifetime gross earnings of Rs. 154 crore within the first two days and set this feat. Director Venkat Prabhu’s storyline doesn’t bring anything new to the table. Movies featuring a hero working in defense and the villain raising the hero’s son only to turn him against his father have been quite common. However, the scenes written about the son’s revenge seem interesting. The first half is mostly spent introducing the hero and other characters, with the story unfolding predictably until the pre-interval. The interval scene sets up an intriguing second half. Though the second half also largely unfolds as expected, the director successfully crafted an engaging climax. The twists in the second half will surprise the audience. The film’s comedy and dialogues are deeply infused with Tamil elements, which might not appeal as much to the Telugu audience. However, for Vijay's fans, this film is sure to be a treat.
