Argentina and France will Lock Horns for the third world cup title.

The FIFA World Cup has reached its final stage. Defending champions France will face powerhouse Argentina in the finals. Both teams have already won the World Cup twice and will now compete for a third time for the trophy.

The World Cup grand finale will be played on December 18 at the Lusail International Stadium in Qatar.

This will be the fourth time that Argentina and France will meet in the World Cup. Previously, both of these teams have met in the group stage of the World Cup (1930, 1978), and in 2018, they have faced each other in the knockout stage.

Argentina won against France in 1930 and 1978. In the pre-quarterfinal (round of 16) match held in 2018, France won 4-3 against Argentina.

In the first three matches of the group stage

Both teams have won two matches, lost one match each, and topped their respective groups. Argentina topped Group C, while France topped Group D.

Argentina defeated the Australian team in the 16th round, 2-1. France, on the other hand, defeated Poland 3-1 to advance to the quarterfinals.

In a penalty shootout reminiscent of the 2014 World Cup semifinals, Argentina triumphed against the Netherlands. Argentina won in the round of penalty kicks, 4-3, after both teams scored two goals apiece.

France won 2-1 against the mighty England, making a strong statement ahead of the semi-finals.

2014 runner-up Argentina took on 2018 runner-up Croatia in the semi-finals. However, the South American giants have destroyed the European team 3-0 and advanced into the finals.

A highly skilled French team has outpowered the Morocco team, which had a great campaign in this tournament. France defeated the African side 2-0.

This is the sixth time that Argentina has been in the finals of the World Cup. They won the cup twice, in 1978 and 1986. They were runner-up’s in the World Cup in 1930, 1990, and 2014.

This will be the fourth World Cup final for the French National Team. They have won the World Cup in 1998 and 2018 and lost to Germany in 2006.
