Nayanthara is a born Malayali; she made her debut in Mollywood through Jayram’s flick "Manassinakkare" (2003). The movie became a box office hit.

After then, Nayan didn't look back; she made appearances in a few Malayalam films before making her debut in the Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada industries. She went on to find success in all of these industries. Nayan eventually made Kollywood her home.

Nayan fell in love with director Vignesh Shivan during their film "Naanum Rowdy Dhaan." After dating for 5 years they got married recently.

Nayan and  Vignesh Shivan are happily married now. They have also welcomed two children via surrogacy recently.
