The story takes place in a tribal village in coastal Karnataka. Shiva an ill-tempered Kambla Athlet ( A cultural athlete) who hails from Bhootakola Performers family. Shiva works for Devendra Suttoru, a landlord with a long history of connection with Shiva's family and his community.

Story

A newly appointed DRFO officer, Muralidhar tries to restrict the villagers' rituals in order to preserve the forest, but when Shiva begins to resist the police, the hostility escalates.

Shiva is constantly haunted by a nightmare, which worries him. He learns the significance of his nightmare, nevertheless, as a wake of certain unanticipated events brought on by the passing of his brother.

 How did his sibling die? What nightmare does Shiva have? What connection exists between Shiva's life and the traditional rituals? These things must be learned in the theater.

The heart of this thrilling movie is Rishabh Shetty, who also serves as the film's director and protagonist. He  effectively persuades the audience in the first half as an irate young man.

Performances

In the second half, he portrays a Bhootakola artist in a never-before-seen performance that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Just prepare to give this man a standing ovation over the final 30 minutes. ' Kantara' is undeniably Rishab Shetty's one-man show.

Both the cinematography by B. Arvind S. Kashyap and the music by B. Anjeesh Loknath were outstanding. Every aspect of the movie reflects the true essence of coastal Kannada culture. Onscreen and behind the camera, Rishabh Shetty delivered a performance deserving of awards.

Technical Aspects

There are several metaphors that can be seen in different parts when we watch this movie. Nature, forest preservation, fear, customs, oppression, revolt, and cultural origins are among the themes.

Overall, "Kantara" is a technical brilliance with a diverse storytelling approach which is well-equipped. Similar stories have been told before, but this movie excels in its own particular field. The climax absolutely erupts in the cinema halls. Don’t miss 'Kantara' in theaters.

Conclusion

A new wave movement is now sweeping the Kannada cinema. Even with limited resources, these films are breaking through boundaries and reaching larger audiences. ‘Kantara’ is a prime example of Kannada cinema's new wave.
