Heeraben Modi, the mother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stood at his side while he made the transition from a tea vendor to India's prime minister, and they had a strong bond.
She passed away in the wee hours of December 30, 2022.
Heeraben turned 100 earlier this year, and Prime Minister Modi visited her mother in Gujarat and sought her blessings.
She went to the voting booth and cast her vote in the Gujarat assembly elections in 2022 despite being 100 years old.
In response to the Prime Minister's call, Heeraben also attended the Aazadi Amrit Mahotsav festivities.
Heeraben used to make meals for Modi whenever he visited Gujarat for any occasion, and the two of them would eat it together.
Narendra Modi paid her a visit on Mother's Day and solicited her blessings.
Heeraben expressed her joy as she watched Modi take the oath of office on television.
