Successful Penis Transplantation: A Rare Organ Transplant Surgery in Rajasthan

In Rajasthan, doctors have successfully completed a rare organ transplant surgery - a penis transplant. The surgery, which took place in Jaipur, is the first of its kind in Rajasthan.

The surgery was conducted on a 72-year-old man from Bundi, who was diagnosed with cancer. The doctors suggested the removal of his cancerous limb and replacing it with a new one.

Convincing the Patient

A team of 11, including five doctors, participated in the surgery at Bhagwan Mahavir Cancer Hospital and Research Center (BMCHRC) in Jaipur.

Following the removal of the cancerous limb, doctors implanted a synthetic limb. Using the patient's own skin, blood vessels, and nerves from his hand.

The Approach

They ensured that the new limb was of the correct shape, and length, and had the correct urethra and other parts.

Microsurgical  Techniques

The surgery took about eight hours, and doctors successfully attached the organ to the patient's body.

The original organ has started functioning, and the doctors expect the patient to recover soon and return to his previous life.

Finally, It Works

In Bangalore, a similar operation took place involving a 12-year-old boy who lost his genitals in an accident. The doctors operated on him and successfully reorganized his genitals.
