The "Vande Bharat Express," a semi-high speed electric train, was introduced by the Indian Railways on February 15, 2019.
These trains are unique in that they were entirely manufactured and assembled in India at the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai as part of the "Make in India" campaign.
These cutting-edge trains were built over the course of 18 months. The anticipated cost of each train is Rs. 100 crore.
Although the Vande Bharat Express is capable of travelling at speeds of up to 160 km/h, it is now only able to do so at 130 km/h since the tracks cannot handle such high speeds.
There are 16 completely air-conditioned chair coaches on the train that offer Wi-Fi to the passengers. Food is supplied to passengers on this semi-high-speed train, and the cost of it is already included in the ticket price.
This trains has been operating on four routes, including
– New Delhi - Varanasi
– New Delhi - Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra
– Mumbai Central - Gandhinagar
– New Delhi - Amb Andaura
The Indian Railways have launched the train service between Chennai and Mysuru on November 11th. This route marks the first in south India for this super fast train.
