The tagline of the series is “A Middle-Class Biopic.” Directed by Aditya Hasan and produced by Rajashekar Medaram, this entertaining series brings laughter and is a great family entertainer, say the makers. The series is now streaming on the popular OTT platform ETV Win. But what is the story about? How has Sivaji performed as a math teacher? Let’s see.

    Story

    Chandrashekhar (Sivaji) is a math teacher in a government school. He lives with his wife Rani (Vasuki), and children Raghu (Prashant), Divya (Vasanthika), and Aditya (Rohan). Despite being a government teacher, he enrolls his children in a private school and is strict about their education. Chandrashekhar hopes Raghu, who is studying in 10th grade, will top the district. What happens next? What unfolds between Raghu and his classmate Suchitra (Snehal Kamath)? What is the upma story in Chandrashekhar’s house? What are the thoughts of children and adults in a middle-class family? These questions are answered in the series.

    Performances

    Sivaji perfectly fits into the role of Chandrashekhar, representing every middle-class father. Vasuki as Rani brings to mind the image of a 90s mother, especially in the scenes where she discusses financial planning and home situations with her husband. Mouli’s natural acting as Raghu is commendable. Vasanthika and Snehal Kamath have also performed beautifully. The youngest, Rohan, is sure to make you laugh. The guest role played by director Venu Udugula is impressive.

    Direction

    Director Aditya Hasan has beautifully depicted the atmosphere of a 90s middle-class family. Though the story seems routine, the director has captivated the audience with cute and little moments. The six-episode series takes viewers back to the 90s, reminding them of those memories. Aditya Hasan has beautifully presented family values in the series. Especially, if you were a child of the 90s, you would connect well with this series. Director Aditya Hasan has given everyone beautiful memories to cherish.

    Technically

    Technically, the #90’s series is well made. The music, editing, and cinematography are all well-executed. Suresh Bobbili’s background score enhances the scenes’ connection with the audience. The effort of the unit in depicting the situations of the time is evident on screen. The production values are high.
