Infinix XE27 TWS Earbuds Review: Budget-Friendly ANC and Bass-Heavy Sound—Worth the Price?

    September 24, 2024

Infinix has gained recognition for budget-friendly smartphones and has now stepped into the audio segment with the launch of Infinix XE27 TWS earbuds. Priced at ₹2,000, these earbuds feature Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC), and a low-latency gaming mode. But do these features justify the price? Let’s find out in this YouSay review.

    Design and Features

The Infinix XE27 TWS earbuds come with a simple design and lightweight plastic construction. The charging case is available in Royal Blue and Imperial White, featuring a glossy finish that easily attracts fingerprints and scratches. We noticed scratches on the case within a few days during our review.

Overall, the case is well-built, but the plastic quality feels average compared to the more robust construction of competitors like the Redmi Buds 5C. The earbuds come with additional ear tips for a comfortable fit and are IPX4 rated, offering protection against sweat and light rain. However, the touch controls felt somewhat stiff, and the lack of an app to customize these controls was a drawback.

    Sound Quality

The sound quality of the Infinix XE27 earbuds was decent. With 10mm dynamic drivers, these buds deliver a bass-heavy sound. However, the emphasis on bass made it challenging during calls. The absence of an app to enhance sound quality was also a significant downside.

While it’s great to have ANC at this price point, it didn’t perform up to expectations. The ANC feature did not make a considerable difference in high-noise environments, and the transparency mode was also ineffective.

    Call Quality

Call quality was generally acceptable, but voices could sound muffled in some situations. External noise levels often made it difficult for others to hear clearly.

    Battery Life

The Infinix XE27 TWS buds showed good battery performance. With ANC activated, they provided up to 4.5 hours of playback, and the charging case could extend the total battery life to 26-28 hours. A quick 10-minute charge offered an hour of playback, which is very convenient during travels. The Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity was reliable.

Should You Buy the Infinix XE27 TWS?

While these earbuds are budget-friendly and come with ANC and bass-heavy sound, there are several drawbacks, including build quality, sound clarity, and ANC performance. Alternatives like the Redmi Buds 5C might offer better build quality and sound customization through an app.

    Pros:

    – Affordable price

    – Bass-heavy sound, suitable for bass lovers

    – IPX4 rating, dust and water resistance

    – Long battery life, fast charging

    Cons:

    – Glossy plastic case prone to fingerprints and scratches

    – Inferior quality compared to other earbuds

    – ANC not up to par

    – Poor call quality in noisy environments

    – No dedicated app for sound customization
