Starring Vishva Karthikeya and Ayushi Patel as the lead actors, the film ‘Kaliyugam Pattanamlo‘ has been brought to the audience today by director Ramakanth Reddy, who took on the responsibilities of story, dialogues, screenplay, and direction. Produced by Dr. Kandula Chandra Obul Reddy, G. Maheshwara Reddy, and Kadam Ramesh, let’s delve into how this movie turned out and whether it managed to impress the Telugu audience.

    Plot

Vijay-Sagar (Vishva Karthikeya) are twins. Since childhood,  While Vijay is terrified at the sight of blood, Sagar finds it thrilling. Fearing for Sagar, their parents eventually get him into a psychiatric hospital. Fast forward a few years, a series of murders stir up the town of Nandyal. A female police officer (Chitra Shukla) steps in to solve the case. What discoveries does she make? Among Vijay and Sagar, who is the good one? Do they have any connection to these murders? That’s the story.

    How Did They Perform?

Vishva Karthikeya did a commendable job in the roles of Vijay & Sagar. He showcased variations according to the character and impressed in the action scenes with his commendable performance. As for the heroines, Ayushi Patel charmed with her glamour, dominating the screen in the first half. In the second half, Chitra Shukla shines with her performance. The rest of the cast did justice to their roles within their limits.

    How’s the Direction?

While Telugu cinema has seen numerous crime thrillers, director Ramakanth Reddy has managed to captivate with a novel concept in this film. He filled the first half with intriguing puzzles and gradually revealed them in the second half. The sensitive concept of how children should and shouldn’t be raised, woven into a crime thriller, is commendable. However, the director seems to have loosened his grip a bit in the second half, with the movie gradually losing interest. Some scenes feel stretched. Yet, a good climax manages to re-engage the audience. Overall, director Ramakanth Reddy’s direction deserves commendation.

    Technically Speaking

On the technical front, every department showcased its talent. Charan’s cinematography, in particular, added value to the movie, making the frames look very natural by shooting in live locations. The music is decent, with the background score elevating the action sequences. Production values align with the movie’s requirements, with the producers not compromising on the budget.
