“Movie Review: Das Ka Dhamki – An Entertaining Ride with Some Bumps Along the Way”

    March 22, 2023

Das Ka Dhamki, featuring Vishwaksen in a dual role, hit the theaters on Friday (March 22). With promotional images and songs generating excitement, the expectations were high. So, did Vishwaksen deliver? How did he fare as both director and actor? Did the movie satisfy its audience? Let’s dive into the review.

    Director: Vishwaksen
Cast: Vishwaksen, Nivetha Pethuraj, Rao Ramesh, Rohini, and others.
    Music: Leon James
Cinematography: Dinesh K Babu, George Williams

    Plot Synopsis

Krishna Das (Vishwaksen) is an orphan who works as a waiter in a five-star hotel. He has always dreamt of living a wealthy life. While working, he falls for Kirti (Nivetha Pethuraj). Meanwhile, Sanjay Rudra (Vishwaksen in Dual Role) is a CEO of a pharmaceutical company. Circumstances force Krishna Das to enter Sanjay’s life. What challenges does Das face as Sanjay? Are there any connections between Sanjay and Das? The answers unfold on the screen.

    The Execution

The story follows a familiar formula, offering little in the way of novelty. The first half features some amusing comedy scenes, but Niveda’s romantic subplot falls short. Despite this, the interval raises interest for the second half, which starts strong but then introduces a series of twists. Unfortunately, the excessive twists didn’t sit well with the audience, and the emotional scenes could have been more impactful. However, the climax does offer some impressive moments.

    Performances

Vishwaksen excels in his dual role, showcasing his acting range. He captures the attention of the mass audience with his powerful dialogue. Niveda Pethuraj is charming, while Rao Ramesh and Rohini deliver solid performances. Mahesh and Hyper Adi provide some laughs, and Ajay shines in another crucial role.

    Technical Aspects

Technically, the movie is well-crafted. Vishwak’s direction effectively drives the story in the second half. Leon James’ music is enjoyable, and the background score enhances the scenes. The songs ‘Mawa Bro’ and ‘Almost Padipoyindhe Pilla’ particularly stand out. The cinematography is commendable, but the editing could have been tighter. Production values are high.

    Pros

    Vishwaksen’s acting
    Music
    Production values

    Cons

    Excessive twists
    Screenplay

In Conclusion…Das Ka Dhamki manages to impress the mass audience but falls short for the class audience.

    Rating: 2.5/5
