Sai Pallavi, Rana’s ‘Virata Parvam’ movie Review

    July 23, 2022

“Virata Parvam,” starring Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi, is now in theaters. Venu Udugula directs this period-action drama. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, this film was put on hold for two years. Despite receiving lucrative offers from major OTT platforms, the filmmakers declined all of them and released the film in theaters today with great confidence. Will this film live up to the creators’ and fans’ high expectations? Let’s find out.

    Story

Vennela is a Telangana woman from the Mulugu district. Her birth occurred in the midst of a revolution. Growing up in a Maoist revolutionary environment, she falls in love with Maoist leader Ravanna’s writings (Rana). Her parents put her under pressure to marry her brother-in-law (Rahul Ramakrishna). Vennela leaves the house in search of her love interest, Ravanna, after disagreeing with her parents’ decision. However, her decision puts her in a difficult situation, but she overcomes all odds and eventually meets Ravanna. Will he accept her affection? What difficulties did she face after joining the Maoist forces? Why were her own troops responsible for her death? You must see the film to understand this.

    Brief Analysis

This film is based on true events. The film, based on the story of a woman killed by Maoists in Warangal in 1992, was brilliantly directed by the director. The thought-provoking dialogues are engrossing. Venu Udugula, the director, brilliantly conveyed his message through heart-wrenching climax sequences. Vennela’s heartbreaking love story will leave you in tears.

The first half focuses on Vennela’s character development, her admiration for Ravanna, and her escape from the house in search of him. When she is apprehended by the police during the intermission, the story takes an interesting turn. She joins the Maoist troops and fights alongside them in the second half. In addition to the romantic scenes, Sai Pallavi excelled in the action scenes. Rana’s stellar performance is a huge plus for the film. In a small role, Naveen Chandra made a big impression.

    Performances

Without a doubt, Sai Pallavi carried this film on her shoulder. In terms of both romance and action, she did an excellent job. The scenes can become repetitive at times, but Sai Pallavi’s charisma keeps you on the edge of your seat. Rana gave his best performance in a powerful role yet. Priyamani, Rahul Ramakrishna, Nandita Das, Nivetha Pethuraj, Ishwariya Rao, and Saichand all played their parts admirably.

    Technical Aspects:

Suresh Bobbili’s background music and songs enhanced the script. The cinematography by Danny Sanchez Lopez is superb. Srikar Prasad’s editing could have been better. The production values are on par with the level of any cinema.

    Pros:

    Dialogues

    Sai Pallavi and Rana’s acting

    The real-life-inspired script

    Cons:

    Predictable and repetitive scenes

    Rating: 3.5/5
