The story of "Adipurush" begins from the Yuddhakanda of Valmiki Ramayana. Raghav (Prabhas), following his father Dasharatha's orders, goes on exile with his wife Janaki (Kriti Sanon) and Sheshu (Sunny Singh). Learning about the insult to his sister Shurpanakha, Ravana (Saif Ali Khan) abducts Janaki in disguise. The womanizer Ravana covets Janaki. The story then revolves around how Raghav rescues Janaki from Ravana's clutches.
