Jr. NTR's 'Devara' Shatters Records: A ₹300 Crore Triumph in 3 Days, Tarak Breaks a 23-Year-Old Flop Streak
Jr. NTR's 'Devara' Shatters Records: A ₹300 Crore Triumph in 3 Days, Tarak Breaks a 23-Year-Old Flop Streak
Jr. NTR's latest film 'Devara' has achieved remarkable success at the box office, raking in ₹300 crores in just the first three days and is now swiftly marching towards the ₹500 crore club. In this film, Tarak is paired with Bollywood beauty Janhvi Kapoor, while Saif Ali Khan plays the antagonist. 'Devara' has brought several intriguing aspects of Tarak's capabilities to the forefront, providing him a victory that even a global star like Prabhas has not achieved. Once again, Tarak has proven to be a boon for directors who have previously experienced flops. Hits with Flop Directors! It can be said that Jr. NTR has become a savior for Tollywood directors who have previously faced failures. Directors who lost their fame due to massive disasters have seen their fortunes revive when teaming up with Tarak. This was recently proven with 'Devara' as well. Director Koratala Siva, who faced criticism with the disaster of 'Acharya', achieved solid success with Tarak in 'Devara'. Tarak has also revived the careers of directors like Puri Jagannadh with 'Temper' after his series of flops, Sukumar with 'Nannaku Prematho' after the failure of '1: Nenokkadine', and Bobby with 'Jai Lava Kusa' after a flop with Ravi Teja. He also brought Trivikram back from the brink after the disaster of 'Agnyaathavaasi' with 'Aravinda Sametha'. In this way, Tarak continues to create new records by turning flop directors into hit-makers. The Only Unbeaten Hero: Tarak In any hero's career, hits and flops are common. Even big star heroes cannot guarantee that every film will be embraced by the audience. Even global star Prabhas faced flops with films like 'Saaho', 'Radhe Shyam', and 'Adipurush' following 'Baahubali'. However, Tarak has been unstoppable in the industry without a single flop over the last nine years. His last seven films have been blockbusters at the box office, including 'Temper', 'Nannaku Prematho', 'Janatha Garage', 'Jai Lava Kusa', 'Aravinda Sametha', 'RRR', and 'Devara'. Tarak stands out as the only hero of his generation to achieve this feat. With big upcoming projects like 'Devara 2', 'NTR 31' with Prashanth Neel, and a rumored film with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Tarak's winning streak looks set to continue. Breaking a 23-Year-Old Flop Record It is well-known that a film with director SS Rajamouli is bound to be a blockbuster. However, no hero has managed to hit immediately following a film with Rajamouli. But with 'Devara', Tarak has broken this flop sentiment. After 'RRR' with Rajamouli, Tarak immediately achieved a solid victory with 'Devara'. Interestingly, Tarak, who kick-started this flop sentiment with Rajamouli's first film 'Student No.1', has himself broken it exactly 23 years after the release of 'Student No.1'. Tarak in the Role of a Farmer! Under the direction of Prashanth Neel, the upcoming project 'NTR 31', produced by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts, is generating buzz in Tollywood. Rumored to be a periodic action drama, the film is said to be set in Bangladesh and will portray Tarak as a young farmer who becomes embroiled in unexpected events, fighting for the locals. The film will reportedly showcase Tarak in two different variations, promising a next-level character portrayal and performance different from his previous roles. Rashmika as the Heroine? Director Prashanth Neel is currently busy with the pre-production work for 'NTR 31', focusing on casting the main roles. Reports suggest that Rashmika Mandanna is being considered to star opposite Tarak, which would mark their first film together if confirmed. 'NTR 31' is planned for release as a Sankranthi gift in 2026, with shooting expected to start soon. The music for the movie will be composed by Ravi Basrur, with cinematography handled by Bhuvan Gowda.
