Mirzapur Season 3 Review: A Powerful ‘Mirzapur 3’?

The first season premiered in 2018, with a second season following in 2020. Both seasons surpassed expectations with their bold content and engaging dialogues, capturing the attention of the youth and setting high expectations for a third season. The much-anticipated third season, 'Mirzapur Season 3,' is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime. This season includes 10 episodes and is available in Hindi, Telugu, and several other South Indian languages. Did this season meet the high expectations?  What Happened in the Previous Seasons? In the first season of Mirzapur, Guddu Bhaiya (Ali Fazal) and Bablu Pandit (Vikrant Massey) worked for Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi). The season ended tragically with Guddu losing his brother and close ones to Munna, Kaleen Bhaiya's son. In the second season, Guddu avenges their deaths by killing Munna and attacking Kaleen, who manages to escape. Season 2 concludes right where Season 3 begins. What’s the Story in Mirzapur Season 3? Pankaj Tripathi, although appearing in fewer scenes, leaves a mark with his signature acting style. The rest of the cast justly fulfills their roles. Directional Insights Compared to previous seasons, this installment showcases more political drama. The directors have skillfully crafted the series with intense and thrilling action-packed episodes. The strategic moves in the battle for Mirzapur are intriguingly presented, with engaging twists and suspenseful factors. However, the typical violence associated with the Mirzapur series is noticeably toned down this season. The absence of Munna's character and the reduced scope for Kaleen Bhaiya's role are significant drawbacks. Additionally, with episodes lasting 45-50 minutes, some may feel the series drags at times. The lack of bold dialogues, a draw for the youth in previous seasons, might disappoint some viewers. A lack of curiosity about what comes next also marks a failure on the directors’ part. Without expectations, Mirzapur Season 3 is engaging, but it might seem lackluster compared to previous seasons. Technically… Technically, all departments have performed well. The background music, in particular, stands out, adding depth to the scenes. The cinematography is decent, though the editing could have been tighter. The production values are high.
