Just as they plan to meet, unexpected events unfold. Pallavi gets caught in a medical mafia trap and is kidnapped, falling into a coma. Her spirit enters a teddy bear that Aditya once gifted her. How does her spirit, through the teddy, reunite with Aditya? How does Aditya, with the help of the teddy, retrieve her body from the villains? What did the villain gang plan to do with Pallavi's body? This is the story. How Did They Perform? Allu Sirish delivers a remarkable performance as Aditya. He excels in the action sequences, showing great maturity as an actor in this film. Gayatri Bharadwaj captivates with her glamour, charming the audience every moment she's on screen. Ajmal Amir, as the villain, matches well against Sirish, impressing with his acting. Second heroine Prisha Singh delights as an air hostess. The other actors also performed commendably within their roles. How's the Direction? Director Sam Antone made an effort to craft a unique story with this film. The love track between Allu Sirish and Gayatri Bharadwaj is beautifully executed. The scenes that show their connection despite being physically apart are particularly entertaining for the youth. The film keeps the audience engaged with 'Kalki' and 'Jai Balayya slogans' that add energy. The action sequences involving Buddy and Allu Sirish are enjoyable. However, the director failed to maintain suspense about what happens next, with the scenes being predictable. Some irrelevant comedy scenes caused viewer fatigue. An attempt to inject humor into the crucial climax was unnecessary. Technically... Technically speaking, Hip-hop Tamizha's background music is a strong addition, enhancing the action scenes, although the songs themselves are not very memorable. Krishnan Vasant's cinematographer is commendable. Editor Ruben could have sharpened his cuts a bit more. Better output from the graphics department would have added value to the film. Production values are satisfactory. Chintu (Master Bhanu Prakash) and Guddu (Srujan) are best friends who are inseparable. An unexpected event, COVID-19, forces them to part ways. Performance Analysis Although there are few characters, each actor delivers a satisfying performance. Master Bhanu Prakash, as Chintu, captivates with his timing and brings laughter. Mohan Bhagath, known from 'C/o Kancharapalem', plays a significant role and makes his presence felt adequate. Mani Egurla, Anusha Ramesh, Anjimama, and others perform well in their respective roles as per the story's requirements. Direction Director Ananth Vardhan has beautifully portrayed the friendship of two young boys against the backdrop of COVID-19 and lockdown. He visually illustrates the struggles middle-class families faced during the pandemic. Starting the story slowly with the background of Chintu and Guddu's families, the director gradually builds interest. The struggles faced by Guddu due to the lack of a smartphone for online classes are touching. The portrayal of Chintu's brother as a modern-day youth is relatable and engaging. The climax is also satisfying. However, the film lacks commercial elements, predictable plot progression, and sometimes takes too long to introduce characters, which can be seen as drawbacks. Technical Aspects Technically, the cinematography is good, and the background music is also appealing. The editor has efficiently fulfilled his responsibilities. The production values are apt for the scale of the film. Gnanamuthu has garnered positive buzz since its Tamil release on the 15th of this month. Now released in Telugu on August 23, did this film managed to captivate the Telugu audience as well? Did it achieve success similar to the original Demonte Colony? Let's find out in this review. Plot Samuel Richard (Sarjano Khalid) unexpectedly commits suicide after overcoming a disease like cancer. His wife, Debbie (Priya Bhavani Shankar), struggles to come to terms with his decision and attempts to communicate with his spirit to uncover the reason behind his actions. She discovers from a book in a library that his death was predetermined by that book. Debbie learns that many others who read this book also died similarly. Recently, Srinivas (Arulnithi) and his twin brother Raghunandan (Arulnithi) have also read the book, putting their lives in danger. What is this book? What is the evil power behind it? How did Debbie, along with her uncle Richard (Arun Pandian), attempt to save the twin brothers? What role did Buddhist monks play in their efforts? That's the story. Performance Arulnithi excels in a dual role, showcasing distinct variations between the two characters in appearance and performance. Priya Bhavani Shankar, in the main female lead, impressed significantly, especially with a change in her hairstyle giving her a fresh look. This role, unlike her previous glamor roles, provided her with a substantial acting opportunity. Arun Pandian, playing the role of Debbie's uncle, did a satisfactory job. Archana Ravichandran, though in a brief appearance, managed to entertain. Muthukumar, Sarjano Khalid, and others performed well, particularly those portraying Buddhist monks who were captivating. Direction R. Ajay Gnanamuthu has crafted part 2 as a continuation of the original 'Demonte Colony' story. The film keeps the audience engaged with twists every half-hour from the start. The director skillfully intertwined two stories by introducing a family not present in the first part. The film not only deals with horror but also includes disputes among brothers and step-sisters, adding a bit of entertainment. Debbie’s efforts to save the twin brothers and the ensuing horror elements are thrilling. The screenplay is quite engaging. The climax along with the scenes linking to a potential third part are surprising. However, weak graphics, some dragging scenes, and the pre-climax could be seen as negatives. Technically On the technical front, the cinematographer did an excellent job by not just sticking to the typical dark mode of regular horror films but presenting it in a colorful manner. The graphics department could have done better. The background music was good, enhancing the suspense in the scenes. Editing was decent. The production values are high.
