Pooja Reddy landed a significant role, which seems straightforward at first but takes a surprising turn at the climax, pivotal in twisting the story. Having worked as an assistant director for movies like 'Run Raja Run' and 'Saaho,' Ruthvik brings a unique style to this thrilling cinema. The film, which explains the fading humanity within individuals, starts grippingly, especially the first 20 minutes. Ruthvik aims to deliver his points without confusion, wrapping up the film in just 58 minutes, a definite plus. However, some scenes stray from logic and feel incomplete, which could have been refined for better impact. Those expecting commercial elements like songs, fights, romance, or love tracks might find it less appealing. Overall, Ruthvik’s directorial effort is commendable.

The cinematography is notable, especially considering most of the film takes place at night, delivering good visuals even in low light. The background music also strengthens the film's atmosphere. Editing is decent, and production values are high. Technically, 'Tatva' scores well.

As always, Superstar Rajinikanth delivers an exceptional performance. His mass moments, heroism, and elevation scenes make his character a visual treat. Especially, his dialogue delivery and mannerisms are sure to impress the audience. Amitabh Bachchan, in an equally important role, is fantastic, and their scenes together are electrifying. Fahadh Faasil, playing a police informer, is captivated by his witty performance. Rana Daggubati and Dushara Vijayan also got substantial roles and impressed with their performances. The rest of the cast has performed well within their scope.







Direction and Execution



Director T.J. Gnanavel, known for the socially conscious 'Jai Bhim,' attempts to deliver another strong message through 'Vettaiyan.' Adding mass moments, heroism, and commercial elements to the story was a major plus. The film boldly addresses how people exploit under the guise of "smart education." The director starts the movie on a commercial note with Rajinikanth's introduction and action against the drug mafia and takes the story into the core plot after Saranya's case. However, the slow pace of the narration and some predictable elements work against the film. But the scenes between Amitabh and Rajini are a highlight, adding intrigue. Rajini’s dialogues and the director’s handling of the star cast like Fahadh Faasil and Rana are impressive. The climax is also satisfactory.

In 'Maa Nanna Superhero,' Sudheer Babu presents a different side compared to his previous films. Known for showcasing his physique in action movies, this time, he impresses with his mature acting, bringing out the emotions perfectly and striving for recognition as a complete actor. Sayaji Shinde gives a good performance as the foster father, though his character lacks depth. Sai Chand, as the biological father, lives the role with his trademark acting. Most of the important scenes revolve around these three characters. Arna, as the heroine, doesn’t have much importance in the story but manages to make an impression with her glamour in some scenes. The rest of the cast has done a decent job within their scope.



Direction



For those who have watched Tamil and Malayalam films and wondered why such feel-good movies aren't made in Telugu, this film will bring joy. Director Abhilash Kankar chose an emotionally touching story. The plot revolves around the emotional journey of a father separated from his child at a young age and the complexities of a foster father-son relationship. However, the director took considerable time to establish Johnny's love for his father. Only after the emotional buildup does the real story begin. The first half focuses on Sudheer Babu and Sayaji Shinde's relationship, while Sai Chand's character comes into play in the second half, making it more emotional. The last 20 minutes are particularly heart-wrenching for the audience. The slow pace of the narration and lack of commercial elements are the negatives.
