Maharaja Movie Review: Vijay Sethupathi excels in revenge Drama Born from the Philosophy of Karma
Maharaja Movie Review: Vijay Sethupathi excels in revenge Drama Born from the Philosophy of Karma
Cast: Vijay Sethupathi, Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, Nataraj, Bharathiraja, Abhirami, among others. Written and Directed by: Nithilan Swaminathan Music by: Ajaneesh Loknath Editing by: Philomin Raj Cinematography by: Dinesh Purushothaman Produced by: Sudarshan Sundaram, Jagadeesh Palaniswami Release Date: 14-06-2024 The latest film starring Tamil cinema's celebrated actor Vijay Sethupathi is 'Maharaja', marking the 50th film of his career. Directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, it features prominent roles by Mamata Mohandas, Anurag Kashyap, and Munish Kant, with music composed by Ajaneesh Loknath. Released on June 14th in both Tamil and Telugu, the film has generated considerable anticipation. Does 'Maharaja' live up to expectations? Has Vijay Sethupathi once again mesmerized audiences with his performance? Let's explore this review to find out. What’s the Story? Maharaja (Vijay Sethupathi), a barber, lives with his daughter Jyothi on the outskirts of the city after losing his wife in an accident. One day, injured, he arrives at a police station to report that intruders attacked his home and kidnapped Lakshmi, a woman who had saved his daughter’s life. He urgently requests the police to find her. The story raises several questions: Who is Lakshmi? Why was Maharaja attacked? What issues does he have with the attackers? What harm came to his daughter? And ultimately, was Lakshmi found? Performance Analysis Vijay Sethupathi, in the role of Maharaja, delivers a stunning performance as usual, carrying the entire movie on his shoulders. His portrayal in the mass action sequences, where he avenges the wrongs done to his daughter, is spectacular. Sachana, as Jyothi, impresses with her acting, especially in the climax. Anurag Kashyap, as the antagonist Selvam, is captivating. Mamta Mohandas, Bharathiraja, Manikandan, Aruldas, and others do justice to their roles. Direction Insights Though director Nithilan Swaminathan presents what appears to be a routine revenge drama, by integrating the philosophy of karma, he brings a fresh perspective. The screenplay is thrilling throughout, with Vijay Sethupathi's exceptional acting making the film stand out. Unforeseen twists add emotional depth, particularly in the interval and climax episodes. While the first half largely introduces the characters, the director skillfully maintains interest, linking various threads including a gang of thieves on one side and the Lakshmi and Jyothi episodes on the other, culminating in a satisfying conclusion for the audience. Technical Aspects On the technical front, all departments performed well. Ajaneesh Loknath’s music stands out as a major attraction. Philomin’s editing and Dinesh’s cinematography are compelling. The production values are high, with no compromises made on spending. Plus Points - Vijay Sethupathi’s Acting - Twists - Music Minus Points - Slow Narration - Dragged Scenes Rating by Telugu.yousay.tv: 3/5

A new trend in Tollywood, young heroes turning into directors
A new trend in Tollywood, young heroes turning into directors
In the film industry, the 'Director' holds a crucial position comparable to that of a team leader, guiding the hero and the rest of the cast. The director typically receives acclaim or criticism for the film's outcome. Presently, there's an emerging trend in Tollywood where numerous young actors are venturing into directing and writing. We will explore these actors who have leaped ‘Directorial Role’ in Tollywood. Adivi Sesh Leading the pack in this category is the versatile actor and young hero Adivi Sesh. He made a mark as a director with the film 'Karma,' captivating everyone's attention. Not only did Sesh write and direct the film, but he also played the lead role, earning significant acclaim. Though his next directorial, 'Kiss,' was not as successful, Adivi Sesh is currently making a name for himself as a writer and hero. Vishwak Sen Gaining recognition with 'Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi,' Vishwak Sen has shown his multifaceted talent as a screenplay writer, writer, hero, and director. He directed and received praise for 'Falaknuma Das' (2019), where he also acted and produced the film. Years later, he directed 'Das Ka Dhamki' (2023), which was a success. The recently released film 'Gaami' has also been successful, and 'Gangs of Godavari' is awaiting release. Siddu Jonnalagadda Currently one of Tollywood's most sought-after heroes as a director is Siddu Jonnalagadda. Known for his story writing, screenplay, and editing skills, Siddu, who gained fame with the blockbuster 'DJ Tillu,' also provided the story for its sequel 'Tillu Square,' which became a hit. Before these films, he contributed stories and dialogues to movies like 'Guntur Talkies,' 'Krishna and His Leela,' and 'Maa Vintha Gaadha Vinuma.' A sequel to 'Tillu Square,' titled 'Tillu Cube,' has been recently announced. Rahul Ravindran Rahul Ravindran, who starred as the hero in films like "Andala Rakshasi," "Tiger," and "Ala Ela," took up the megaphone as a director with the film "Chi La Sow." Following that, he directed King Akkineni Nagarjuna in "Manmadhudu 2." Venky Atluri, known for his roles in movies like "Sneha Geetham" and "It's My Love Story," debuted as a director with "Tholi Prema." Subsequently, he set aside acting to direct films such as "Mr. Majnu" and "Rang De." However, the trend of heroes turning directors in Tollywood is not new. In the past, legendary actors like NTR, Superstar Krishna, and Pawan Kalyan transitioned into directors, creating films that matched their tastes. Pawan Kalyan Power Star Pawan Kalyan also took to directing with 'Johnny' under his own banner. Though the film was not successful, he has provided stories and screenplays for 'Gudumba Shankar' and 'Sardaar Gabbar Singh.' R. Narayana Murthy Known for revolutionary cinema, People's Star R. Narayana Murthy has made a name as a director and producer, creating impactful films like 'Ardharatri Swatantram,' 'Dandora,' and 'Erra Sainyam.' NTR & Superstar Krishna Legendary actor NTR, while being a star hero, directed several mythological and folk films. His directorial debut was with the movie "Seetharama Kalyanam." Following this, he directed films like "Gulebakavali Katha," "Daana Veera Soora Karna," "Chanakya Chandragupta," and "Talla Pellama." Successfully balancing his roles as both a star hero and a director, NTR managed to carve a niche for himself in both arenas. Similarly, Superstar Krishna, while continuing his acting career, ventured into directing and produced several successful films. With the movie "Simhasanam," a high-budget film, Krishna debuted as a director and went on to direct hits like "Shankharavam," "Kaliyuga Karnudu," "Mugguru Kodukulu," "Koduku Diddina Kapuram," "Rikshawala," "Anna Thammudu," "Indra Bhavanam," "Alludu Diddina Kapuram," "Raktha Tarpanam," and "Manavudu Danavudu."

Ravi Teja's 'Eagle' Movie Review: A Soaring Action Thriller or a Missed Flight?
Ravi Teja's 'Eagle' Movie Review: A Soaring Action Thriller or a Missed Flight?
Cast: Ravi Teja, Kavya Thapar, Anupama Parameswaran, Madhu, Vinay Rai, Navdeep, Srinivas Avasarala, Praneetha Patnaik, Ajay Ghosh, Nitin Mehta, Srinivas Reddy, and others Director: Karthik Ghattamaneni Music: Bheems Ceciroleo Cinematography: Karthik Ghattamaneni, Camil Polak, Karma Chawla Producers: People Media Factory Release Date: 09-02-2024 In Karthik Ghattamaneni's direction, Ravi Teja stars as the protagonist in the action thriller 'Eagle,' alongside Anupama Parameswaran and Kavya Thapar as the female leads. The film, produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and featuring music by Bheems Ceciroleo, had stepped back at the last moment from the Sankranti race and has now been released to the audience today (February 9). So, how is the movie? Does it add another hit to Ravi Teja’s account? Did Anupama and Kavya manage to enchant the audience with their beauty? Let's take a look. Story In a tribal village in the Talakona forest, local inhabitants consider Sahadev Varma (Ravi Teja) as a deity. Unexpectedly, one day, he goes missing. Crime investigative journalist Nalini Rao (Anupama Parameswaran), who comes to the village to investigate a matter, comes to know about Sahadev Varma. Following her article about his disappearance, the CBI gets involved. Who is Sahadev Varma really? Where did he go? Why did the CBI get involved after reading about him in the paper? What happened to Sahadev's wife, Rachana (Kavya)? What is the hero's connection with illegal arms? To uncover these matters, one must watch the entire movie. Performance Analysis Ravi Teja, as Mass Maharaj, has portrayed the role of Sahadev Varma distinctly different from his routine characters. Despite having fewer dialogues, he impresses with his stylish looks and expressions. Anupama Parameswaran has got a significant role, and although there's not much scope for acting, she is visible throughout the movie. Vinay Rai, in his limited role, performed within his character's scope. The roles of Avasarala Srinivas, Madhubala, Mirchi Kiran, and others, though limited, are captivating. Ajay Ghosh, Srinivas Reddy, and Amrutham Appaji have managed to entertain with their comedy track. Direction Analysis Director Karthik Ghattamaneni has crafted the movie around an engaging concept, focusing on gun culture and current circumstances with a compelling screenplay. The elevation scenes given to Ravi Teja, reminiscent of KGF levels, are well done. The director has presented Ravi Teja in the most stylish avatar, satisfying his fans with a full treat. However, those expecting Ravi Teja's signature comedy might be disappointed as the movie showcases him in a serious look throughout. Dividing the movie into chapters may confuse the audience a bit. Although some scenes seem illogical, the overall movie keeps the audience engaged. Technically... Moving on to the technical team, Dev John's sound designing and background score are more captivating than his songs. The songs, like "Aadu Macha" and "Gallanthe," are not just pleasing to listen to but also visually appealing. Karthik's cinematography is commendable. The dialogues written by Mani Babu are engaging. Furthermore, the production values are of a high standard. The work of the art department is notably praiseworthy. Plus Points Ravi Teja's performanceHero elevationsMusic Minus Points First half pacingScenes lacking logic Rating: 3/5

Underrated Telugu Movies: Despite Good Stories, These Films Failed Miserably at the Box Office!
Underrated Telugu Movies: Despite Good Stories, These Films Failed Miserably at the Box Office!
Typically, the story holds primary importance for any film. Without good content, even the biggest stars can't guarantee a movie's success. However, some films in Tollywood remain a mystery to this day. Despite having amazing stories and star heroes, these films unexpectedly faced failures, leading to losses for the producers who had high hopes for them. Let's look at some of those Telugu films that came with great stories but didn't do well. Orange Directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar and starring Ramcharan, 'Orange' was a unique concept film that bombed disastrously at the box office. The reason behind its failure remains a mystery. Recently, the film was re-released, and it received a special response from the audience. Film lovers say that 'Orange' was not meant for those times and would have been a blockbuster if it were released now. Awe! Directed by Prasanth Varma of Hanu Man fame, 'Awe!' presents a novel story that offers a unique experience. Many viewers commented online that it would have been great to watch this film in theaters. The concept revolves around Kali, a girl suffering from multiple personality disorder, who creates a character for every feeling she experiences, attempting to communicate her emotions through them. Despite being an exceptional movie, it did not succeed commercially. C/o Kancharapalem Released without much expectation, 'C/o Kancharapalem' garnered an unexpected response from the audience. However, more people watched this movie on OTT platforms than in theaters. The film is a collection of four love stories that begin in Kancharapalem, showing how these stories turn the lives of the couples involved. Directed by Venkatesh Maha, the film touches the heart deeply. Ante Sundaraniki Starring Nani and Nazriya as the leads, and directed by the distinctive director Vivek Athreya, 'Ante Sundaraniki' connected well with the audience. The story is about Sundar (Nani), a Brahmin boy who falls in love with Leela (Nazriya Nazim) from another religion. They lie to their families for marriage, leading to complications. Despite Nani's different performance compared to his previous films, this movie did not achieve commercial success. Appatlo Okadundevadu Starring Nara Rohit and Sree Vishnu, 'Appatlo Okadundevadu' is a heart-touching film with a compelling story. It narrates the journey of a young man dreaming of becoming a cricketer, who gets embroiled in a criminal case and faces trouble from a police officer, who eventually helps him. The climax twist is sure to bring tears to the audience's eyes. Yet, this film resulted in losses at the box office. Karma 'Adivi Sesh's debut film 'Karma' failed at the box office but scored high TRP ratings during its television premieres. The hero in this movie possesses supernatural powers. 1: Nenokkadine Directed by Sukumar and starring Mahesh Babu, '1: Nenokkadine' left the audience confused. By the time people understood the movie, it had already been declared a disaster. The story revolves around a man with a traumatic past, haunted by certain thoughts, leading to unexpected twists in his life. Interestingly, this film gained appreciation after being telecasted on TV. Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi 'Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi' brings a smile just by mentioning its name. It's a movie many want to rewatch multiple times, especially after its OTT release, as it didn't receive much attention in theaters. The film, trending on OTT, is frequently watched during boring times, with characters that everyone can connect with. Vedam Starring Allu Arjun, Manchu Manoj, and Anushka Shetty, 'Vedam' is considered a feel-good movie by those who watched it. However, commercially, it was a flop. Directed by Krish, the film did not receive financial success, leaving the producers in loss. Khaleja 'Khaleja' had all the elements needed for a hit - star heroes and heroines, a strong story, good music, and excellent direction, yet it failed. Viewers wonder why this movie flopped even after watching it on TV. The story is about a village plagued by an unknown disease, leading to many deaths, where the villagers believe a deity will save them. They discover divine powers in cab driver Raju. What happens next is the crux of the story. Republic Starring Sai Dharam Tej and directed by the unique filmmaker Deva Katta, the film "Republic" made its way to the audience. Based on the current social conditions, the director crafted this movie to show how a district collector should support the people. Despite being well-received by viewers, the film did not achieve commercial success. Diving into the story... Abhiram (Sai Dharam Tej), an IAS officer, takes up his duties in his own district. He focuses on the Tellaru reservoir, which has been under political influence for many years. What happened next? How did he sing the swan song to CM Vani's (Ramya Krishnan) illegalities? That forms the crux of the story. Mental Madilo Directed by Vivek Athreya and starring Sree Vishnu, "Mental Madilo" (2017) also mesmerized the audience as a feel-good entertainer. Different from routine love stories, this film connected very well with the youth. Even though the movie was well-made, the producers faced difficulties. At the box office, it did not achieve the expected success. Moving on to the story... A young man without a stable mindset falls in love with two women. Faced with the situation of having to choose between them, what does he do? That is the essence of the story.

Peddha Kapu 1 Review: Has Director Srikanth Addala Made an Impressive Return? Let's Dive into the Film!
Peddha Kapu 1 Review: Has Director Srikanth Addala Made an Impressive Return? Let's Dive into the Film!
Cast: Virat Karna, Pragathi Sri Vyart, Srikanth Addala, Rao Ramesh , Naga Babu, Rajeev Kanakala, Ishwari Rao, Aadukalam Naren Director: Srikanth Addala Music Composer: Mickey Jay. Meyer Cinematographer: Chhota K. Naidu Producers: Miryala Ramesh, Miryala Satyanarayana Film Overview: "Peddha Kapu 1" is touted as a political action film, crafted under the direction of Srikanth Addala, often hailed for his class-oriented direction. Contrary to the title's suggestion hinting at a social class backdrop, the director stresses it's a representation of the ordinary man and not tied to any caste. The film marks the debut of Virat Karna, a kin of producer Miryala Ravinder Reddy. Pragathi Srivastava takes on the female lead role. An intriguing twist is director Srikanth Addala not only taking the director's chair but also donning a role with negative shades. Plot: Set against the backdrop of the 1980s, during the launch of the Telugu Desam Party by NTR, the village of Lanka is dominated by two powerhouses, Satyarangayya (Rao Ramesh) and Bayanna (Naren), who breed violence for power. Pedakapu (Virat Karna) works for Satyarangayya alongside his elder sibling. In an unforeseen circumstance, Pedakapu brother ends up serving jail time for Satyarangayya, only to later vanish. The plot unfolds further in 1983 when NTR forms the Telugu Desam Party. The oppressed and marginalized aim to induct just leadership for their upliftment. This is where Peddha kapu (Virat Karna), with his fiery spirit, plants the Telugu Desam's flag in the village, defying Satya Rangaiah and Bayanna. The narrative unfolds to reveal Pedakapu's resistance, the ensuing chaos, and the roles of Kannababu (Srikanth Addala) and others. Film Execution: The initial sequences focus heavily on caste-based confrontations in the Godavari district. A turning point in the narrative is the emblematic waving of the TDP flag, showcasing the plot's depth. The dynamics between the ruling tyrants, the innocent villagers caught in the crossfire, and the rise of a significant leader are masterfully portrayed. However, certain scenes felt dragged. The narrative gains pace in the latter half, bolstered by intense events like Satya Rangaiah's demise. The emotive and action-packed climax intensifies the film's overall impact, with Anasuya's role adding depth. Performances: Virat Karna, debuting as Pedakapu, showcases commendable potential, particularly in action sequences, although he seems a tad shaky in emotional heavy-lift scenes. Pragathi, as the female lead, isn't granted much scope. Anasuya, portraying an elder sister, shines brilliantly. Rao Ramesh and Naren also deliver noteworthy performances. Srikanth Addala's turn as Kannababu is refreshingly unexpected. Technical Aspects: Chhota K. Naidu's cinematography is a visual treat, capturing the scenic beauty of Godavari in its essence. Mickey J. Mayer's music might not be the film's highlight, but his background scores resonate. Srikanth Addala's direction, usually reliant on dialogues and songs, seems slightly off-course this time. Pros: Engaging Screenplay Stellar performances by Virat and Anasuya Compelling background score Cinematography Cons: Prolonged scenes Song placements Rating: 3/5 https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=Hlmv3tob_Eg

Maa Oori Polimera 2 Review: Has 'Maa Oori Polimera 2' Recaptured the Thrills? Here's Our Verdict!
Maa Oori Polimera 2 Review: Has 'Maa Oori Polimera 2' Recaptured the Thrills? Here's Our Verdict!
Starring: Satyam Rajesh, Baladitya, Kamakshi Bhaskarla, Ravi Varma, Chittem Sreenu, Rakendu Mouli, Sahitya Dasari, Akshatha Srinivas, etc. Director: Dr. Anil Vishwanath Producer: Gauri Krishna Music: Gnani Cinematography: Kushidar Ramesh Reddy Release Date: November 03, 2023 The original 'Maa Oori Polimera' left a significant mark on audiences in 2021, garnering acclaim and viewership on Disney+ Hotstar, particularly for its intriguing take on sorcery. Its success inevitably paved the way for a sequel. Directed by Dr. Anil Vishwanath, 'Maa Oori Polimera 2' premiered yeterday, amidst towering expectations. Does it rise to the occasion and deliver a narrative as gripping as the first? Does Satyam Rajesh's performance hit the mark? Let's dive into the review to find out. The Plot Picking up where its predecessor left off, 'Maa Oori Polimera 2' sees Komuraiah (Satyam Rajesh) under the delusion of death, fleeing to Kerala with his first love, Kavita. Concurrently, Jangaiah (Baladitya) is on a quest for his missing brother. The arrival of new SI Ravindra Naik (Rakendu Mouli) in Jastipalli to unravel the village's enigmas sparks a series of dramatic events. Why is the Archaeology Department interested in the village's ancient temple? What's the mystery behind the series of deaths linked to Komuraiah in the original village? Will Jangaiah reunite with his brother? The film holds these answers and more. The Experience The sequel kicks off by briskly recapping 'Polimera Part 1' in four minutes before shifting focus to Komuraiah's escapades in Kerala. As the new SI launches his investigation, the narrative gains momentum, and the eerie rituals performed in Kerala's woods by Komuraiah add a layer of suspense. Post-interval, the plot unfolds predictably, yet the finale springs some unanticipated twists. Like the first installment, 'Part 2' raises numerous questions, presumably setting the stage for 'Part 3'. The Performances Satyam Rajesh reprises his role as Komuraiah with an easy finesse borne from his experience in the first film, delivering some truly chilling moments. Kamakshi Bhaskarla, portraying Komuri's wife Lakshmi, commands stronger scenes than in the first part, with a pivotal twist in the climax. Baladitya's Jangaiah, although present, has a truncated role compared to 'Part 1'. The supporting cast, including Getup Srinu as Balija and Rakendu Mouli as the SI, deliver competent performances within their defined arcs. Director's Vision Director Dr. Anil Vishwanath appears to tread cautiously, crafting a storyline that sometimes forsakes logic for the sake of thrill. The screenplay could have been tighter, with clearer delineations between past and present narratives. Nevertheless, Vishwanath succeeds in crafting a sequel that stands independently of 'Part 1', a feat that merits recognition. Technical Aspects Technically, the film shines with Gnani's haunting background score elevating the chilling atmosphere. Khushender Ramesh Reddy's cinematography captures the mood aptly. Production values are commendable, aligning well with the film's ambition. Highlights Satyam Rajesh's compelling performanceEngaging twistsStriking background score Drawbacks Pacing issuesSome illogical sequences Conclusion For fans of the thriller genre, 'Maa Oori Polimera 2' is a must-watch. It's a movie that connects the dots between crime scenes, twists, and a climax that delivers a satisfying punch. Rating: 3.5/5

Ahimsa Movie Review: Abhiram Shines in a Routine Love Story Directed by Teja
Ahimsa Movie Review: Abhiram Shines in a Routine Love Story Directed by Teja
Cast: Abhiram Daggubati, Geetika Tiwari, Sada, Kamal Kamaraj, Kalpalatha, Ravi Kale, Rajat Bedi Directed by: Teja Music: R.P Patnaik Cinematography: Sameer Reddy The Daggubati family is renowned in Tollywood, with Suresh Babu and Venkatesh leaving a lasting impact on the industry. Rana, the successor to this legacy, has also carved a niche for himself. Now, Rana's younger brother, Abhiram Daggubati, has made his debut in the industry with the film 'Ahimsa,' directed by Teja. The movie released on June 2, and it's time to find out how it fares and if Abhiram delivers his first hit. The Story Raghu (Abhiram Daggubati) is a staunch believer in non-violence. He lives by the principle of not harming even an ant. Raghu is deeply in love with Ahalya (Geetika Tiwari). However, their engagement day takes a horrifying turn when Ahalya is brutally raped by two sons of Dhanalakshmi Dusyanta Rao (Rajat Bedi). Raghu takes legal action against them, with the assistance of lawyer Lakshmi (Sada). In a tragic turn of events, Dushyanta Rao kills Lakshmi's family. The real story unfolds as Raghu, who initially believed in non-violence, faces the dilemma of how to deal with Dushyanta Rao. To know what the hero does, you must watch the movie in theaters. Performances Abhiram delivers an impressive performance in his debut role as the hero. He showcases his talent and acts with conviction in crucial scenes. Considering this is his first movie, his acting can be considered good. Geetika Tiwari shines in her role as the heroine, impressing with both her beauty and acting prowess. However, there are some instances where her performance falls short. Sada excels in her role as a lawyer, and the rest of the cast, including Ravi Kale, do justice to their respective roles. Direction Director Teja chose a promising story but fails to present it effectively. The film lacks the engagement and interest required to captivate the audience. Some scenes may remind viewers of movies like Jayam and Nuvvu Nenu. The film feels overly stretched, and Teja seems to have disregarded logical thinking in some scenes. The inclusion of an item song in the villain's house while the bodies of his sons lie there feels out of place. This may leave the average viewer wanting the movie to conclude quickly. Although the film bears Teja's signature style, routine scenes make it tedious to watch. Technical Aspects In terms of technical aspects, R.P Patnaik's music doesn't leave a lasting impact, although some songs are enjoyable. The song ‘Vundhiley Vundhiley’ stands out with its meaningful lyrics by Chandra Bose. The background music is decent as well. Sameer Reddy's cinematography is a notable highlight, contributing positively to the overall visual appeal of the film. The production values are commendable. Pros Impressive debut performance by Abhiram Good cinematography Some enjoyable songs Cons Stretched screenplay Routine scenes Rating: 2/5

The on-screen pairing of national crush Rashmika Mandanna, and Rowdy Boy Vijay Deverakonda, became a significant trend in Telugu cinema. Despite only two films together, they have emerged as a notable pair within the industry. Their chemistry received widespread acclaim. Their first collaboration, 'Geetha Govindam,' was a blockbuster hit, grossing over 100 crore rupees and becoming the biggest success of Vijay Deverakonda's career. Directed by Parasuram and produced by Geetha Arts, the film delighted audiences with the compelling performances of both Vijay and Rashmika. Rashmika Mandanna also shines as Lilly, a cricketer, gives a brilliant performance. Their romantic scenes elicited cheers from the audience, while their emotional exchanges were deeply moving. Despite receiving positive reviews in Telugu, the film did not achieve box office success. It faced criticism and trolling from Vijay's detractors on social media. Although the film underperformed in theaters, it was a hit on OTT platforms, performing well in all dubbed languages and earning a favorable reputation. Dear Comrade record... Recently, the Hindi dubbed version of 'Dear Comrade' set a record, garnering over 40 crore views on YouTube. Mythri Movie Makers expressed their delight about this achievement on X (formerly Twitter). Although the film's storyline resonated less with Telugu audiences, it was well-received by Hindi viewers. Kalki 2898 AD Update: Buzz around Disha Patani’s role in 'Kalki' ties to mythology is exciting netizens!
Kalki 2898 AD Update: Buzz around Disha Patani’s role in 'Kalki' ties to mythology is exciting netizens!
As the release date for 'Kalki 2898 AD,' starring Prabhas and directed by Nag Ashwin, approaches, promotional activities are ramping up. Fans are already excited by glimpses of Amitabh Bachchan's character and posters featuring Prabhas. Adding to the intrigue, Nag Ashwin recently introduced a robotic vehicle character named Bujji. The director has also confirmed that the film is inspired by mythology. Meanwhile, Bollywood actress Disha Patani is generating significant online buzz with her role in the film. Let's explore further details. Disha Patani as Mohini! According to recent updates, Disha Patani is set to play a young woman named Mohini in 'Kalki 2898 AD.' It is reported that the antagonist, portrayed by Kamal Haasan, sends her as a spy to Prabhas' character, Bhairava. The plot suggests that Mohini will use her allure to uncover secrets from Bhairava, sparking significant discussion online. Her role is proving to be crucial in the movie, and some netizens are drawing parallels between Disha Patani’s character and the mythical figure Mohini. This comparison is stirring up a buzz on social media. What's the logic? Some netizens are expressing concerns about comparing Disha Patani’s character with the historical Mohini, who is an avatar of Lord Vishnu. Since the film is rumored to portray Prabhas also as an avatar of Vishnu (Bhairava), they question how Mohini could spy on him. Amidst this promotional buzz, there's skepticism about the logic behind these claims. If Disha's character is named Mohini but unrelated to the mythological tales, then the current speculation might be unfounded. This discussion won't likely end until the film unit provides more clarity. Disha with Prabhas in a special song In 'Kalki 2898 AD,' Deepika Padukone stars as the lead opposite Prabhas, with Disha Patani appearing as the second heroine. The film features a special song with Prabhas and Disha Patani, which was filmed a month ago in picturesque Italian locales. Disha shared photos from the shoot with her fans, and these images quickly went viral. It has been heavily speculated that Deepika will appear as 'Kaumudi' while Kamal Haasan might be seen in the role of 'Kali.' These characters are expected to be crucial, particularly Kamal Haasan's, which is anticipated to be a powerful counter to Prabhas. Further clarification on their roles is expected soon.
