Raj Tarun's Bhale Unnade Movie Review: A Beautiful First Half Fades Into Predictability
Raj Tarun's Bhale Unnade Movie Review: A Beautiful First Half Fades Into Predictability
Cast: Raj Tarun, Manisha Kandkur, Abhirami, Ammu Abhirami, Hyper Aadi, Goparaju Ramana, Srikanth Iyengar, Krishna Bhagavan, VTV Ganesh, Singeetam Srinivasa, Leela Samson, Rachcha Ravi, and others. Director: J. Sivasai Vardhan Music: Shekhar Chandra Cinematography: Nagesh Banell Producer: N.V. Kiran Kumar Presented by: Maruthi Release Date: 13-09-2024 Raj Tarun stars in the recently released film 'Bhale Unnade!' with Manisha Kandkur as the heroine, directed by J. Sivasai Vardhan. Produced by N.V. Kiran Kumar under the Ravi Kiran Arts banner and presented by Maruthi's team, the film's trailer and teaser have already garnered interest. This is Raj Tarun's third film released within a month. After the previous two films failed to impress, Raj Tarun has high hopes for 'Bhale Unnade!' How does the film fare? Did it bring success to Raj Tarun? Let's find out in this review. Plot Radha (Raj Tarun) works as a saree draper in Visakhapatnam. Raised by his mother Gauri (Abhirami) after his father's early death, he helps her out. Krishna (Manisha), a new employee at the bank where Gauri works, becomes close to Gauri. Krishna enjoys the lunch boxes Radha prepares for his mother and falls in love with Radha's cooking without even seeing his face. Similarly, Radha falls for Krishna through the letters she sends with the lunch box without meeting her. As they prepare for marriage with their elders' consent, Krishna's friend reveals something shocking at the engagement. This raises doubts about Radha's suitability. What happens next? What test does Krishna set for Radha? Why does Radha keep a distance from women? Did their wedding take place? Performance Raj Tarun, as Radha, is captivating throughout the film. His acting has more scope compared to his previous films, and his emotional expressions are compelling. Manisha looks beautiful as Krishna, and their chemistry is well-portrayed. Abhirami, as the mother, captures the audience's attention. Even though Singeetam Srinivasa appears only in a few scenes, he leaves a strong impact. Ammu Abhirami, Goparaju Ramana, and Srikanth Iyengar play their parts within their limits. Hyper Aadi and Nellore Sudarshan provide occasional comic relief. The rest of the cast performed adequately within their roles. Direction Director J. Sivasai Vardhan crafted this film with a concept of how modern society and women perceive a man aspiring to be like Lord Rama. The first half flows pleasantly with the love track between the hero and heroine and the bond between mother and son, anchored around the lunch box as a medium of their love letters. The twist at the engagement concludes the first half. The second half takes Radha on a background of why he distances himself from women, although it drags compared to the first half. The tests imposed on the hero in a Kerala ashram and the antics of Srikanth Iyengar do not pan out well. The way Radha and Krishna break up also lacks novelty. The climax is another weak point of the film. Technically Technically, the cinematographer does a great job with vibrant and fresh visuals. Shekhar Chandra’s music does not leave a lasting impression. The background score is passable, and the editing is fine. The production values are high. Plus Points - Raj Tarun's acting - Story background - First half Minus Points - Lack of commercial elements - Second half Telugu.yousay.tv Rating: 3/5

Kali Movie Review: Prince and Naresh Agastya Shine in a Gripping Yet Flawed Drama
Kali Movie Review: Prince and Naresh Agastya Shine in a Gripping Yet Flawed Drama
Cast: Prince, Naresh Agastya, Neha Krishnan, C.V.L. Narasimha Rao, Mani Chandana, Kedar Shankar, Madhumani, Gundu Sudarshan, and others Director: Shiva Shesha Music: Jeevan Babu Cinematographer: Ramana Jagarlamudi Editor: Vijay Vardhan Kavuri Producer: T. Leela Goutham Release Date: 04-10-2024 The latest film starring Prince and Naresh Agastya is 'Kali', directed by Shiva Shesha. Neha Krishnan, C.V.L. Narasimha Rao, Mani Chandana, Kedar Shankar, and Madhumani also play significant roles. This film, developed with a unique concept, was released to the audience on October 4. Let's see how the movie is and whether it captivated the Telugu audience in this review. What's the Story? Shivaram (Prince) is a professor at a university who never refuses to help anyone. This quality endears him to Veda (Neha Krishnan), who falls in love with him and confronts her family to marry him. However, Shivaram's goodwill is exploited by his own family members, who conspire to take his property. Betrayed by his brother and uncle, Shivaram becomes deeply disillusioned and attempts suicide, wishing not to be reborn as a human. At this critical moment, Kali Purusha (Naresh Agastya) makes his entry. Just as Shivaram is about to commit suicide, Kali Purusha rings the calling bell and saves him. What changes does Kali bring into Shivaram’s life? What is the connection between Shivaram’s life and the era of Kali? To find out, one must go to the theaters. How Did They Perform? In a refreshing new role as Shivaram, Prince excels with settled acting. Even in scenes without dialogue, his expressions were enough to impress. He made an effort to define himself as an actor by intensifying the scenes. Naresh Agastya shone as Kali, captivating with his stylish performance. The film primarily revolves around these two characters. Neha Krishnan was compelling as Veda within the limits of her role. Other cast members also justified their roles. How's the Direction? Director Shiva Shesha made an attempt to convey that suicide is not a solution to problems and that it is the real problem through this film. Although he chose a message-oriented narrative, he did not neglect commercial elements. He made the story engaging by blending suspense and thriller elements effectively. The movie starts with Shivaram’s background, his family life, love track, and betrayal by family members. The director sped up the story with the arrival of Agastya as Kali. The way Agastya questions Shivaram and tries to show him his mistakes is appealing. The scenes that instill a will to live are spectacular, especially the interactions between Prince and Naresh Agastya. However, the story might feel dragged and centered too much around two characters, and the lack of comedy could be seen as a downside. Technically On the technical front, the music is a major strength. Jeevan Babu's background score notably elevates the scenes. The editing could have been sharper. The cinematography is good, and the visuals are rich. The production values are also high, befitting the film. Devaki Nandana Vasudeva Movie Review: Ashok Galla Shines in a Mythology-Inspired Tale That Misses the Mark!
Devaki Nandana Vasudeva Movie Review: Ashok Galla Shines in a Mythology-Inspired Tale That Misses the Mark!
Cast: Ashok Galla, Manasa Varanasi, Devadatta Nage, and othersDirector: Arjun JandyalaStory: Prasanth VarmaDialogues: Burra Sai MadhavCinematography: Prasad Murella, RasoolEditing: ThimmarajuRelease Date: November 22, 2024 Ashok Galla, the son of prominent businessman Galla Jayadev and nephew of Mahesh Babu, stars in his latest film, Devaki Nandana Vasudeva. Prasanth Varma, known for Hanuman, penned the story, while Arjun Jandyala directed the movie. The team promised a blend of spirituality, commercial appeal, and thrilling elements. Released on November 22, did the movie captivate the audience? Did Prasanth Varma's trademark shine through? Let’s delve into the details. The Plot Kamsaraju (Devadatta Nage) is a tyrant. During a visit to Kashi, he encounters an Aghora who predicts that his death will come at the hands of his sister’s third child. Terrified, Kamsaraju attacks his pregnant sister (Devayani), leading to the death of her husband. He is sentenced to 21 years in prison. Meanwhile, his sister gives birth to a girl, Sathya (Manasa Varanasi). As she grows up, Krishna (Ashok Galla) falls in love with her. Upon Kamsaraju’s release from jail, what happens to Sathya? What secret has Kamsaraju’s sister been hiding from him? How does Krishna protect his love? The answers lie in the movie. The Performances Ashok Galla clearly worked hard for his role as Krishna, and his efforts are evident on screen. Compared to his previous film, Ashok has improved in both acting and body language. His performance in key emotional scenes is commendable. Manasa Varanasi impresses as the heroine, and her chemistry with Ashok works well. However, she falters in conveying deeper emotions in certain scenes. Devadatta Nage delivers a solid performance as the antagonist, while Devayani does justice to her role as Kamsaraju’s sister. Jhansi shines as the hero’s mother, while supporting actors like Sanjay Swaroop, Shatru, Sridhar Reddy, and Getup Srinu play their parts adequately. The Direction Despite a premise with potential, Prasanth Varma’s story lacks depth. While mythology is woven into the narrative, it feels disjointed and fails to sync with the storyline. Director Arjun Jandyala missed the opportunity to create magic in the screenplay, which falls flat and lacks intrigue. Certain scenes promote superstitions rather than adding value to the narrative. The love track between the lead pair feels underwhelming, and the action sequences between Krishna and Kamsaraju fail to make an impact. Some scenes intended to elevate Krishna’s character come across as overly dramatic. Overall, the direction leaves the audience bored at several points. Technical Aspects On the technical front, Bhims Ceciroleo’s music is a major asset. His background score elevates the action sequences significantly. Prasad Murella’s cinematography is impressive, capturing the essence of the scenes well. Editor Thimmaraju’s work is satisfactory. The production values are high, and there’s no compromise in terms of budget, making the film visually appealing. Sandeep Reddy Vanga Backs Ananya After Reporter's Shocking Question
Sandeep Reddy Vanga Backs Ananya After Reporter's Shocking Question
Telugu actress Ananya Nagalla stars in the latest movie "Pottel," set to release across the two Telugu states on October 25th. Amidst ongoing promotions, Ananya has been quite busy. Recently, after the trailer launch, a press meet was held where Ananya had a bitter experience. A question raised by a journalist about commitments in the industry turned into a hot topic both in Tollywood and on social media. Ananya addressed this issue again and thanked pan-India director Sandeep Reddy Vanga for standing by their team. Praises for Sandeep by Ananya The movie "Pottel," which stars Yuvachandra Krishna and Ananya Nagalla and is directed by Sahith Mothkuri, is set to hit the screens in three days. A pre-release event was recently held by the makers, where Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for directing films like "Arjun Reddy," "Kabir Singh," and "Animal," attended as the chief guest. Ananya spoke at the event, expressing gratitude for his presence at the promotions of "Pottel," not once but twice, and praised him for his support in elevating a small film to a bigger stage. https://twitter.com/i/status/1848603026728358266 After "Rangasthalam," "Pottel" Is It: Sandeep Reddy Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, as the chief guest, spoke about the film. He mentioned that director Sahith one day told him about the small story he was filming. Upon hearing it, Sandeep felt it wasn't just a small story but a significant one. He had already seen the movie and liked it a lot, saying it was more than he had imagined and that the audience would definitely enjoy it. He praised it as the first full-scale village backdrop film he had seen since "Rangasthalam" and urged everyone to support small films. https://twitter.com/i/status/1848595831508652364 Decency in Questions: Ananya At the "Pottel" pre-release event, Ananya Nagalla made some more intriguing comments. She revisited the journalist's question about commitment, mocking its appropriateness. "After going home, I thought about how one could ask such a direct question on a sensitive topic. It made me realize, if one had decency, such questions wouldn't be asked. My dream has always been to earn recognition as an actress, which I have been fighting for at home for five years. After seeing 'Pottel,' everyone at my home will feel proud. The question on commitment spoiled the joy. Now everyone will think I succeeded because I committed, but it’s not true. Just because actresses wear makeup and smile doesn't mean they don't have a heart or a family. Please respect us," Ananya requested. What Really Happened? The trailer launch event for the movie "Pottel" recently took place in Hyderabad, with prominent actress Samyuktha Menon releasing the trailer. During the subsequent press meet, a female reporter questioned Ananya Nagalla about the casting couch, asking, "Before giving a movie chance to an actress or artist, do you ask for commitments? Have you ever faced this?" Ananya responded, "How can you be so sure that commitments are asked? There's nothing like that." The reporter continued, "But your industry friends said commitments are part of the signing agreements." Ananya clarified, "That's 100% wrong. I have never faced such a situation. It doesn't exist." https://twitter.com/tfpcin/status/1847262295266865248 Producer of "Mallesham" Fires at Reporter Netizens criticized the manner in which the female reporter questioned Ananya Nagalla, and as the video went viral, "Mallesham" producer Venkat Siddareddy also responded. He posted a lengthy post on X, criticizing the reporter's inappropriate question during a movie promotion. He mentioned the precautions taken for Ananya's safety during the shooting of "Mallesham" and condemned the harsh nature of the reporter's question, praising Ananya for her fitting response. Ananya thanked Venkat Siddareddy for his support in this matter. https://twitter.com/AnanyaNagalla/status/1847503625607680498

'Slaves' Comment Backfires: Tamil Actress Kasthuri Shankar Schooled on Chennai's Telugu Origins and Tamil Nadu's Hidden Telugu Heritage
'Slaves' Comment Backfires: Tamil Actress Kasthuri Shankar Schooled on Chennai's Telugu Origins and Tamil Nadu's Hidden Telugu Heritage
Tamil actress Kasthuri Shankar, known for her roles in several blockbuster films like 'Bharatheeyudu', has recently made inappropriate comments targeting the Telugu-speaking people, equating them to slaves. Her comments, which purportedly elaborate on historical contexts, have sparked controversy in both Telugu states and have become a topic of discussion even in Tamil Nadu, where she is currently a member of the BJP. However, if Kasthuri were aware of history, she might have refrained from such remarks. Knowing the significant contributions of Telugu rulers, leaders, and individuals in Tamil lands would have offered a better perspective. What Exactly Happened? Tamil actress Kasthuri's recent comments have caused severe uproar in the Telugu states. During an event organized in Gurumoorthy Nagar in Chennai, she joined the BJP and targeted the DMK and the Karunanidhi family. She remarked that Telugu people, who initially came to serve in the royal courts 300 years ago, are now claiming Tamil identity, questioning who are others to deny Tamil identity to the Brahmins who came here long ago. She suggested that Dravidian ideologists oppose Brahmins merely because they advise against coveting others' wives, and thus, they oppose Sanathana Dharmam. She also claimed that speaking Telugu alone is enough to become ministers in Tamil Nadu, noting that five Telugu ministers are currently in the DMK government. Impact on Tamil History One of the prominent dynasties that ruled Tamil Nadu was the Cholas, among whom Kulottunga Chola-I was of Telugu descent. His father was Rajaraja Narendra, a ruler from the Vengi Chalukya dynasty who governed the region between Krishna and Godavari in present-day Andhra Pradesh. Kulottunga Chola’s mother, Ammangaidevi, was a princess in the Chola realm. After her father's death, instability plagued the Chola kingdom, leading Kulottunga to safeguard his grandfather's empire and continue ruling there. His descendants also successfully ruled Tamil Nadu. From 1061-1118, Kulottunga ruled as a Chalukya emperor, but his son Vikrama Chola became a Chola emperor, illustrating that the blood of Telugu Chalukyas was present in him. Historians often state that a Telugu person ruled the great Tamil kingdom of the Cholas, clearly marking the impact of Telugu culture on Tamil history. Image credit: Wikimedia Commons The Telugu Name Behind ‘Chennai’ The name of Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, comes from a Telugu person. In 1639, Damerla Chennappa Nayakudu, a prince under Venkatapati Nayak, a lord from the Andhra Padmanayaka dynasty, governed the area. The British, under the East India Company, settled there and later renamed the area as Madras. Over time, the area became known as Madras, but locals preferred to call it Chennai Pattinam or Chennapuri. Following local preference, after independence, the name was officially changed to Chennai in August 1996. Image credit: Wikimedia Commons Telugu Influence on Madras Previously, the combined state of Madras, now Tamil Nadu, was united with Andhra Pradesh. Due to Potti Sreeramulu’s hunger strike, Andhra Pradesh was formed as a separate state on October 1, 1953. Telugu people played vital roles in all sectors in the erstwhile Madras state, contributing to its development. From 1925-29, Srikalahasti zamindar Panaganti Ramarayanam served as the president of the Justice Party and Chief Minister of Madras, during which the current Thyagaraya Nagar was established. Between 1932-36, Bobbili Raja, Sri Ramakrishna Ranga Rao, served as the Chief Minister of the Madras Presidency. Rao Bahadur Kurma Venkata Reddy Naidu worked as the Governor of Madras. Even before the split, Prakasam Pantulu, a Telugu person, served as the Chief Minister of the united Madras state. The first three graduates in law from Madras University were Telugu. Thus, Telugu individuals significantly impacted politics, education, medicine, law, and commerce. Image credit: Wikimedia Commons Hundreds of Telugu Manuscripts Vijayanagara Emperor Sri Krishnadevaraya, known to all Telugu people, wrote 'Amuktamalyada' under the witness of his court's Ashtadiggajas, which is still preserved in the Tanjavur library in Tamil Nadu. Along with it, 778 palm manuscripts covering mathematics, science, and mythology are stored there, demonstrating the extent of Telugu cultural influence in Tamil Nadu. This cultural patronage by ancient kings highlights Tamil Nadu as a symbol of cultural integration, which everyone should recognize.

Thaman Hints at a Possible Mahesh Babu and Balakrishna Multi-Starrer, Sparking Fan Excitement
In Tollywood, among the heroes with a massive fan following are Balakrishna and Mahesh Babu. While Mahesh charms fans with his classy looks, Balakrishna energizes his fans with his signature mass dialogues. The very idea of these two stars in one movie is exciting! Recent comments by popular music director Thaman suggest that this multi-starrer might soon become a reality. Thaman's comments during a show became a hot topic on social media. What Did Thaman Say? On the popular OTT streaming app 'Aha,' the Telugu version of Indian Idol is being streamed, where Thaman serves as a judge, and singer Sreerama Chandra is hosting. During the semifinals of the show, host Sreerama Chandra posed an intriguing question to Thaman: "If you had the opportunity to direct music for both Balakrishna and Mahesh Babu's films at the same time, which film would you choose to work on?" Thaman's response turned into the talk of Tollywood. He revealed that not only is the multi-starrer film with both Balayya Babu and Mahesh Babu possible, but he also mentioned that he has heard the story of the film. This revelation had both the anchor Sreerama Chandra and the audience cheering excitedly. https://twitter.com/CINE_EXPLORERS/status/1832658977953607782 Fans Stirring Up Excitement! Thaman's comments about the upcoming class-mass combo multi-starrer are going viral online. Fans are asserting that records will be shattered if a film featuring Mahesh and Balayya materializes, reminiscent of the films of Super Star Krishna and NTR (N T Rama Rao). Fans are excited at the prospect of their sons also acting together. However, it remains to be seen whether Thaman's comments were made in jest or if there is a genuine plan in place. Currently, apart from speculation by the audience, there is no confirmed information about the film's story or direction. Yet, if true, it's certain that not just speakers but box office records are set to be broken. Maybe Not Anytime Soon! After 'Guntur Kaaram,' Mahesh is set to work with legendary director SS Rajamouli. With this commitment, Mahesh won't be available for any other movies for at least the next three years, which means a movie with Balakrishna might not happen anytime soon. Even if the story exists and both actors agree, it might take at least four years for the movie to get on the tracks. Mahesh is currently preparing his look for Rajamouli's film, sporting a significantly grown hair and beard for an adventure action thriller set on a global scale. Balayya Busy Busy Balakrishna is currently busy shooting an action-packed movie (NBK 109) directed by Bobby Kolli. The makers are considering releasing this film in December or for the Sankranti festival next year. Notably, Thaman is providing the music for this movie. The shooting is progressing at a brisk pace. In this film, Bollywood stars Bobby Deol and Urvashi Rautela play crucial roles. Balakrishna is fully engaged in the ongoing shooting of this movie, keeping him very busy.

The representation of players from the Telugu regions in such a pivotal sport has been on the rise. There was a time when the name of a Telugu cricketer would primarily evoke the memory of V.V.S. Laxman and Mohammed Azharuddin. Today, however, the scenario has evolved. Several young talents from the Telugu states are emerging on the national scene, with many already having earned recognition and success playing for India. This exclusive report by YouSay highlights the journey and achievements of these athletes in cricket. Nitish Kumar Reddy Telugu cricketer Nitish Kumar Reddy burst onto the scene during the 2024 IPL season. Early in his career, Nitish attended training camps at the Visakhapatnam ground and later joined the ACA Academy in Kadapa. With the support of former chief selector M.S.K. Prasad further developed his cricketing skills. First Class Cricket As an opening batsman in age-group cricket and a medium pacer, Nitish Kumar Reddy has shown considerable prowess. He played for the Under-19 B team, where he effectively displayed his cricketing skills. Nitish made his first-class debut during the 2019-20 Ranji season. Encouraged by his potential, the Sunrisers management promoted him up the batting order in a subsequent match against Punjab. Pottel Movie Review: 'Rangasthalam' Level Telugu Film? Sandeep Reddy Vanga's BOLD Comparison, Ananya's De-glam Avatar Shocks, But Second Half DISAPPOINTS!
Pottel Movie Review: 'Rangasthalam' Level Telugu Film? Sandeep Reddy Vanga's BOLD Comparison, Ananya's De-glam Avatar Shocks, But Second Half DISAPPOINTS!
Cast: Yuva Chandra Krishna, Ananya Nagalla, Ajay, Priyanka Sharma, Tanasvi Choudary, Noel Sean, Chatrapathi Shekhar, Srikanth Iyengar, Jeevan, Riyaz, Vikram, and others. Written and Directed by: Sahith Mothkuri Music by: Shekhar Chandra Cinematography by: Monish Bhupathi Raju Edited by: Karthika Srinivas Producers: Nishank Reddy Kudithi, Suresh Kumar Sadige Production Companies: Nisa Entertainments, Pragnya Sannidhi Creations Release Date: 25-10-2024 In the latest film Pottel, Ananya Nagalla and Yuva Chandra pair up in a film directed by Sahith Mothkuri, who made his directorial debut with the film Savari. Pottel has garnered unprecedented publicity for a small-scale cinema. Pan-India director Sandeep Reddy Vanga praised this film by comparing it with Ram Charan's 'Rangasthalam.' The screenwriter Trivikram also raised expectations by lauding the film. Released on Friday (October 25), did this film meet expectations? Did it bring success to Ananya? Let's see in this review. Plot The story unfolds in Gurramgadda village, located at the borders of Maharashtra and Telangana. The villagers conduct a festival for the village deity Balamma once in every cycle and offer sacrifices. It is believed that during this time, the deity possesses Patel (Ajay), the village head, who then prevents the villagers from progressing, particularly in education. On the other side, Pedda Gangadhari (Yuva Chandra) serves as the keeper of the sacrificial animals and secretly educates his daughter. When Patel finds out, he makes the sacrificial animal disappear. He threatens to sacrifice Gangadhari's daughter if the animal isn't found by the festival. What does Gangadhari do to save his daughter? Is he able to bring back the animal? What role does Bujjamma (Ananya Nagalla) play in this story? Performances Ajay, as Patel, delivers a powerhouse performance, surpassing even his impactful role in 'Vikramarkudu.' Newcomer Yuva Chandra excels as Gangadhari, a man desperate to educate his child and improve his village. Despite being his debut, he perfectly fits into his role. Telugu actress Ananya Nagalla gets a substantial role and shines as Bujjamma. Even in a deglamorized role, she delivers an exceptional performance. Singer Noel also got a significant role and did justice to it. Srikanth Iyengar and Chatrapathi Shekhar lived up to their roles, along with other supporting cast members who performed competently within their limits. Direction Director Sahith Mothkuri captures the essence of a rural 1980s setting right from the beginning, immersing the audience into that era within the first 20 minutes. He vividly portrays how the oppressed and weak were subdued during the Patel era, focusing on the prejudices rooted in caste and pride. The introduction of characters, the love story between the hero and heroine, and other scenes are well-handled in the first half. However, the second half seems a bit faltering. The director appears to rely too heavily on the villain's oppression to drive emotional engagement, resulting in scenes that sometimes lack logical continuity. Nevertheless, the director succeeds in connecting the audience with the film's underlying message. Technically On the technical front, the music and cinematography departments have performed well. The songs and background score positively impact the film. However, editing flaws are noticeable, particularly in the second half where scenes drag. The art department excels, recreating the atmosphere of the 1980s with their workmanship. Plus Points - Story - Lead performances - Music Minus Points - Lack of engaging narrative - Dragging scenes Rating by Telugu.yousay.tv: 3/5

Aho Vikramarka Movie Review: Dev Gill's 'Aho! Vikramarka' Struggles to Impress
Aho Vikramarka Movie Review: Dev Gill's 'Aho! Vikramarka' Struggles to Impress
Cast: Dev Gill, Chitra Shukla, Tejaswini Pandit, Praveen Tarde, Posani Krishna Murali, Sayaji Shinde, Prabhakar, and others Director: Peta Trikoti Screenplay and Dialogue: Prasad Varma Music: Ravi Basrur Editor: Tammi Raju Producers: Dev Gill, Mihir Sudhir, Ashwani Kumar Mishra Release Date: August 30, 2024 Actor Dev Gill, known for his role as a villain in Magadheera, has gained recognition in several Telugu films. His latest film as a protagonist, 'Aho! Vikramarka, directed by Trikoti, is released on August 30. How did the film turn out? Did hero Dev Gill succeed? Let's find out in this review. Plot In Pune, 1200 laborers from a colony disappear without a trace for 25 years, leaving their families in despair, not knowing whether they are alive or dead. During this period, Vikramarka (Dev Gill) is transferred to the Pune police station as an SI. Initially, he colluded with the drug mafia led by Bilal (Posani Krishna Murali). Influenced by his girlfriend Archana (Chitra Shukla), he transforms into an honest police officer. What incident prompted Vikramarka's change? What happened to the missing laborers? Was Vikramarka able to save them? What challenges did he face in this process? This is the story. Performances Dev Gill has shown his mark in action scenes. With experience playing villains in various films, he seemed to handle action effortlessly. However, he struggled significantly in love scenes and emotional sequences, failing to express emotions convincingly. Chitra Shukla delivered a solid performance as the heroine, fitting well into her role. Praveen and Tejaswini Pandit, as the villain and ACP Bhavani respectively, were compelling. Posani Krishna Murali and Sayaji Shinde impressed with their seasoned acting. The rest of the cast was satisfactory. Direction Directed by Peta Trikoti, the film reminds one of Telugu hits like 'Temper' and 'Pataas.' However, the plot lacks novelty, and the narration isn't engaging. The director failed to extract compelling performances corresponding to the story's demands. The love track between the hero and heroine feels quite tedious, and Dev Gill's romantic looks recall his villain roles. Nonetheless, Trikoti made an effort to showcase his style in the fight scenes, which are somewhat interesting when the hero confronts the villains. Technically... The art department performed well. Ravi Basrur's music was underwhelming, though the background score was passable in places. The production values were high, with no compromise on the budget. Plus Points Action sequences Production values Minus Points Story and narration Hero's acting Scenes lacking logic Telugu.yousay.tv Rating: 1.5/5
