      Venu Yeldandi, who entered the industry as a comedian, built his career by playing small roles initially. He then gained popularity as a team leader in the 'Jabardasth' comedy show. Shifting gears to directing, Venu's last year's film 'Balagam' was a blockbuster success, set against a rural Telangana background and received critical acclaim. Naturally, all eyes were on Venu's next project. However, a year after 'Balagam', the absence of a new project announcement from Venu sparked mixed reactions among fans. Amidst this, there’s a strong buzz that Venu has locked a project with a young hero. Venu Directing Nithiin! Venu Yeldandi had previously announced that his second film would be under the banner of producer Dil Raju, who also produced 'Balagam'. The story for this second movie has been ready for a while, and Venu is expected to start production soon. It is rumored that he will be directing young hero Nithiin in his next film. Nithiin has reportedly agreed to the project after some changes were made to the story. If all goes well, the film is expected to start soon. The film, known as 'Yellamma', has also been registered as a title, generating buzz in Tollywood. Nani, Teja Sajja Rejected! Initially, there was significant buzz that Venu Yeldandi's next project would feature Natural Star Nani. Venu had pitched the 'Yellamma' story to Nani, but he was reportedly not satisfied with the second half of the script. Venu stood by the story, leading to Nani's withdrawal from the project. Subsequently, the story was pitched to Teja Sajja, who initially agreed, but this combination did not materialize due to unavoidable reasons. Finally, Venu presented the story to Nithiin, who gave his approval. When Does Shooting Start? Venu Yeldandi’s 'Yellamma' is set to start shooting in February next year. The announcement was made by producer Dil Raju during the pre-release event of 'Janaka Ayithe Ganaka'. Venu was also present at the event. As Venu approached the stage, Dil Raju from the audience asked about Yellamma's start date. Venu humorously replied, "You are the master of all actions here; you tell us. I'm ready to start tomorrow if you say so." To find out, you must watch the movie. Performance Analysis As always, Superstar Rajinikanth delivers an exceptional performance. His mass moments, heroism, and elevation scenes make his character a visual treat. Especially, his dialogue delivery and mannerisms are sure to impress the audience. Amitabh Bachchan, in an equally important role, is fantastic, and their scenes together are electrifying. Fahadh Faasil, playing a police informer, is captivated by his witty performance. Rana Daggubati and Dushara Vijayan also got substantial roles and impressed with their performances. The rest of the cast has performed well within their scope. Direction and Execution Director T.J. Gnanavel, known for the socially conscious 'Jai Bhim,' attempts to deliver another strong message through 'Vettaiyan.' Adding mass moments, heroism, and commercial elements to the story was a major plus. The film boldly addresses how people exploit under the guise of "smart education." The director starts the movie on a commercial note with Rajinikanth's introduction and action against the drug mafia and takes the story into the core plot after Saranya's case. However, the slow pace of the narration and some predictable elements work against the film. But the scenes between Amitabh and Rajini are a highlight, adding intrigue. Rajini’s dialogues and the director’s handling of the star cast like Fahadh Faasil and Rana are impressive. The climax is also satisfactory. Technical Aspects In terms of technical aspects, every department performed well. The cinematography was excellent, giving the film a commercial look. Anirudh's background score, as always, excites the audience, and the fans are sure to enjoy it. The editing could have been a bit sharper. The people's attire and societal depiction are immersive. The journey of Thangalaan with the British in search of gold, and the challenges they face en route, build suspense. The scenes before the interval raise expectations for the second half, which, however, feels a bit detached as the story progresses. The pre-climax fight between the British, Thangalaan, and the tribal community leads to confusion, blurring the line between Thangalaan's dreams and reality. Yet, the director delivers a satisfying conclusion in the climax by revealing another dimension of Thangalaan's character. Technically Speaking Technically, the film is robust in many aspects. The costumes, makeup, and art departments have outdone themselves for this movie. The music by GV Prakash Kumar also complements the narrative well. The production values are high.
