Samantha: Similarities to the Life of Legendary Actress Savitri?
It is well known that Tollywood actor Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and star heroine Samantha got married in 2017 and separated in 2021 due to disagreements. Three years later, Naga Chaitanya is ready to remarry, this time to actress Sobhita Dhulipala. In this context, netizens are sympathizing with Samantha, intertwining her current situation and past incidents with the life of the legendary actress Savitri. They are drawing parallels between Sam's life and that of Savitri, posting about it extensively. Let’s explore what these posts are suggesting.
What’s the Connection Between Samantha and Savitri’s Life?
In 2021, during her divorce from Naga Chaitanya, Samantha was heavily targeted by the public. However, now that Chaitanya is preparing for his second marriage, netizens are expressing their sympathy towards Samantha on a large scale, comparing her situation with that of Savitri, who was a celebrated actress. At the peak of her cinema career, Savitri’s life was influenced by the already married actor Gemini Ganesan. By that time, Ganesan’s career was moderate compared to Savitri’s. Savitri, deeply in love, married Ganesan but later found him intimately involved with another woman. Unable to bear the betrayal, she fell into depression and became dependent on alcohol, which led to numerous health issues and prematurely ended her career. Netizens speculate that Samantha might have undergone a similar ordeal? They suggest that these struggles drove Samantha to divorce Chaitanya.

‘What’s So Special About Sobhita?’
If Samantha Does It, It’s Wrong… If Sobhita Does It, It’s Right?
Samantha was heavily criticized for her bold roles in films, which some claimed were the reason for her divorce. Now, there’s a keen interest in Sobhita's screen presence as Naga Chaitanya prepares to marry her. Netizens are pointing out that Sobhita has acted in more bold scenes than Samantha, citing her roles in the bold web series 'Made in Heaven' and her intense performances in 'The Night Manager', where she appeared in bikini and intimate scenes. Recently, in 'The Monkey Man', Sobhita was again seen in bold portrayals. This has led to questions about why Naga Chaitanya would divorce Samantha for being bold in her roles, only to marry Sobhita, who has portrayed even bolder scenes.
Did You Know This About Sobhita?
Sobhita Dhulipala was born in Tenali, Andhra Pradesh. She became the Femina Miss India in 2013. She entered the Bollywood scene with the 2016 movie 'Raman Raghav 2.0'. Following that, she gained recognition with movies like 'Chef' and 'Kaalakaandi'. In 2018, Sobhita made her Tollywood debut with 'Goodachari', charming the Telugu youth audience. She then played key roles in 'Major' and 'Ponniyin Selvan 1 & 2', earning praise for her performances. Recently, she acted in the American film 'Monkey Man'. She is currently involved in a Hindi film titled 'Sitara', while Naga Chaitanya is busy with 'Tandel', directed by Chandoo Mondeti.
Naga Chaitanya’s Reaction Is This!
Amidst the heavy trolling over his engagement with Sobhita, Naga Chaitanya responded. On Instagram, he reposted the engagement photos and an interesting caption shared by Sobhita. He added, "What does my mother become to you? What relation is my father to you? No matter how we come together, our hearts are raining like the red earth. They have merged inseparably," quoting from a poem by the Tamil poet Kurunthogai. This post, supported by Akkineni, has left Sam's fans quite upset.

Chiranjeevi & Balakrishna Set for Epic Multi-Starrer: Boyapati Srinu Takes on the Challenge!
In Tollywood, legendary heroes like Megastar Chiranjeevi and Nandamuri Balakrishna are always in the forefront. Having entertained millions of fans over five decades, they continue to engage their audience energetically even past the age of 60. Recently, at a film industry event marking Balakrishna's 50 years in cinema, Chiranjeevi mentioned their upcoming multi-starrer. Director Boyapati Srinu has been challenged to craft the story, and he recently made some exciting comments about this Chiru-Balayya project, sending fans into a frenzy.
‘Without a Story, It’s a Waste’
Fans are eagerly awaiting the Chiranjeevi-Balakrishna multi-starrer. Both actors have openly declared their readiness to proceed if the script is ready, generating anticipation for the director who will utilize this opportunity. Especially since Megastar Chiranjeevi named Boyapati, expectations for this multi-starrer project are high. Recently, Boyapati commented on the project during an award function related to a channel, stating, "It would be a waste if I don't write a story for Chiru and Balayya, who are the title of my movie." This video is going viral.
https://twitter.com/i/status/1847303422111801807
Why Boyapati?
Many directors attended Balakrishna's Golden Jubilee celebrations, but Chiranjeevi specifically mentioned Boyapati Srinu, who is known as the go-to director for action films. With blockbuster films like ‘Simha’, ‘Legend’, and ‘Akhanda’ with senior actor Balakrishna, Boyapati is considered the best choice for handling this grand multi-starrer project. Analysts believe that Chiranjeevi might have strongly suggested Boyapati with a challenge in mind. At the same time, senior director Y.V.S. Chowdary and other writers are also suggested indirectly by Chiru to seize this opportunity.
https://twitter.com/i/status/1830519890249421017
Is it a Guaranteed Mass Story?
Boyapati Srinu knows the pulse of the mass audience well. Both Chiru and Balayya have a huge following among mass audiences. Films like ‘Gang Leader’, ‘Mutha Mestri’ by Chiru, and faction films like ‘Samarasimha Reddy’, ‘Chennakesava Reddy’, and ‘Narasimha Naidu’ by Balayya have been massive hits in C centers. When such heroes come together, the level of the story can be imagined. Sources close to the development suggest that Boyapati is preparing a strong mass story that will present Chiru and Balayya like never before.
Boyapati Competes with Y.V.S. Chowdary!
Based on films like ‘Indra’ and ‘Samarasimha Reddy’, director Y.V.S. Chowdary is ready to write roles for Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna. Recently, there has been significant buzz about his initiatives in this direction. Chowdary, a die-hard fan of the Nandamuri family and having a strong connection with them, has previously made films with Balayya and Harikrishna. However, after being away from the industry for a while, he has announced a new project aiming to bring back Chiru and Balayya together with his story. It remains to be seen whose story will finally be chosen between Chiru and Balayya.
‘Akhanda 2’ to Come First
In Tollywood, the combo of Balakrishna (Balakrishna) and director Boyapati Srinu (Boyapati Srinu) is well-known for hit films like ‘Simha’ (Simha), ‘Legend’ (Legend), and ‘Akhanda’ (Akhanda). They are now ready to start their fourth project together, recently announced under the title ‘Akhanda 2’. The pooja ceremonies for this movie took place grandly in Hyderabad, attended by Balakrishna's daughters Nara Brahmani (Nara Brahmani), Tejaswini (Tejaswini), and other family members. However, even if Boyapati finalizes the Chiru-Balayya multi-starrer, it will only move to the sets after completing ‘Akhanda 2’.

HBD Nagarjuna: Nagarjuna's Birthday Special- Daring Hero!
Entering the industry as the heir of the legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna has undertaken experiments that no other hero would dare to attempt. He fearlessly moved forward in his career with a variety of unique films, earning a distinct recognition in genres ranging from mass and class to spiritual and romantic. He successfully introduced his sons, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil, as the third generation from the Akkineni family into the industry. Behind Nagarjuna's success in the industry are some daring steps. Let's learn about them on the occasion of his birthday today (August 29).
'Siva' Sensation
Typically, early in their careers, most heroes opt for safe stories. However, Nagarjuna made a big impact with the experimental film 'Siva'. He took a significant risk by giving Ram Gopal Varma, who had never even been an assistant director, a chance to direct. This daring step turned his career around, creating a sensation with 'Siva' in a way no one anticipated. This film not only changed the trajectory of Nag's career but also altered the course of Tollywood, challenging the traditional perceptions of a hero's role with 'Siva'.
Diversity a Priority
With 'Siva', Nagarjuna became a top hero in the industry. While typically a single hit film would set a repetitive pattern in stories, Nagarjuna planned his career to ensure diversity in every film. This strategy led him to star in a supernatural heist film 'Govinda Govinda', a family drama 'Ninne Pelladatha', and an action entertainer 'Hello Brother', continually delighting his fans and establishing a dedicated fan base, thereby solidifying his status as a star hero.
'Annamayya'
At a time when peers like Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, and Venkatesh were dominating with commercial films, Nagarjuna shocked everyone by signing on to the devotional project 'Annamayya'. Already popular for his mass image, his decision to do a devotional film raised eyebrows within the industry. Committed to portraying diverse roles, Nagarjuna embraced the challenge without hesitation, delivering a performance in 'Annamayya' that became a landmark in his career. Directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, the film was a sensational success, capturing the true essence of Annamayya and earning two National Awards, nine Nandi Awards, and three Filmfare Awards.
More Spiritual Films
Following the success of 'Annamayya', Nagarjuna didn't stop there. While continuing to act in commercial films, he also starred in more devotional films. Films like 'Sri Ramadasu', 'Shirdi Sai', 'Om Namo Venkatesaya', and 'Jagadguru Adi Shankar' under the combination of Raghavendra Rao and Nagarjuna also achieved great success at the box office.
Opportunities for Newcomers
Nagarjuna has proven time and again that not only is giving chances to newcomers not a risk, but it can also lead to success. Throughout his extensive acting career, he has introduced around 40 directors to Tollywood. Directors like Ram Gopal Varma ('Siva'), YVS Chowdary (Sri Sita Ramula Kalyanam Chootamu Raarandi), Lawrence ('Mass'), and Vijay Binni ('Naa Saami Ranga') are included in this list. Nagarjuna often credits these new directors for playing a pivotal role in his stardom.
The First Pan-India Star from Telugu Cinema
Director Krishna Vamsi, in an interview, made interesting remarks about Nagarjuna, describing him as the hero who took Telugu cinema global. Nagarjuna brought directors from various industries and produced diverse films with his own money, significantly altering the audience's perspective. He worked with directors like Mani Ratnam, Priyadarshan, Ravichandran, and Mahesh Bhatt from Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and Tamil industries, becoming a true Pan-India foundation.
https://twitter.com/thokkaloteja/status/1828863171152757038
As the Host of Bigg Boss...
Unlike most stars who shy away from television, Nagarjuna embraced it. He has been hosting the Telugu Bigg Boss show for several years, entertaining the television audience with his charm. While younger heroes like NTR and Tarak hosted for only a season, Nagarjuna has been continuously hosting, completing five seasons (Bigg Boss 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) and is set to host the upcoming eighth season. He has also been notable as the host of the 'Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu' game show.
https://twitter.com/i/status/1829013612117230039
The Fitness Mantra
Even at the age of sixty, Nagarjuna's fitness level amazes the younger generation of heroes. Maintaining his physique from his 'Siva' days, he continues to give tough competition to younger heroes. Nagarjuna often shares that his secret to looking great is his calm demeanor and regular workouts. Having debuted as a hero in 1986 with 'Vikram', Nagarjuna has now acted in over a hundred films. Currently, he is working under the direction of Shekhar Kammula in 'Kubera'.

Rajinikanth Praises Rana Daggubati’s Intense Performance in 'Vettaiyan'!
After matching Prabhas's performance in 'Baahubali', Daggubati Rana has garnered Pan-India popularity. As the grandson of legendary producer Daggubati Ramanaidu, Rana has carved a unique identity for himself in the industry, earning acclaim in Hindi films and supporting Telugu cinema in Bollywood. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth's latest film 'Vettaiyan' features Rana in a pivotal role, with a grand release planned for October 10. At the recent movie audio launch, Rajinikanth made intriguing comments about Rana.
'Rana was terrifying'
In the film 'Vettaiyan', directed by 'Jai Bhim' fame TJ Gnanavel, Rajinikanth spoke at the audio function. He extensively praised Rana, highlighting his achievements and recalling knowing him since he was a child through his grandfather. Rajinikanth noted that Rana used to visit the sets even as a boy, always jovial, but now he appears serious in his acting roles, which genuinely startled him. This video of Rajinikanth’s comments has gone viral online, with netizens admiring a superstar like Rajinikanth praising Rana.
https://twitter.com/i/status/1843720706057724332
Rajinikanth Alters the Story
Rajinikanth recently shared insights about the story of 'Vettaiyan'. He suggested changes to the original story brought by TJ Gnanavel, after his daughter Soundarya urged him to listen to it. Impressed, he requested the addition of commercial elements, which Gnanavel accepted, although he mentioned that it couldn't be turned into a film by directors like Nelson Dilipkumar or Lokesh Kanagaraj. Rajinikanth insisted on those changes, otherwise, he would have approached other directors. Ten days later, Gnanavel returned with the revised script, which surprised Rajinikanth. He also insisted that Anirudh should be the sole music director for the film.
Accusations Against Rajinikanth by a Tamil Director
Kollywood star director KS Ravikumar has made serious accusations against superstar Rajinikanth, stirring significant controversy. Their previous collaboration on 'Lingaa' didn't perform well, leading to negative publicity. In a recent YouTube interview, the director discussed the film's failure, attributing it to Rajinikanth's interference in editing. He claimed that Rajinikanth didn't allow enough time for computer graphics and completely altered the second half, removing a song with Anushka and a twist in the climax, and adding an artificial balloon jumping scene, contributing to the film’s disarray. These comments have now gone viral on social media.
Rajinikanth’s Future Projects
Exciting news has surfaced regarding Rajinikanth's future projects. There's strong buzz about him working with star director Mani Ratnam, reuniting after 33 years since their successful 1991 film 'Thalapathi'. Discussions between Rajinikanth and Mani Ratnam have reportedly taken place. If all goes as planned, an official announcement might be made on Rajinikanth's birthday in December, according to Kollywood sources. On another front, Rajinikanth will be seen in 'Coolie', directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, followed by 'Jailer 2' under the direction of Nelson Dilip Kumar.

Dulquer Salmaan's Rapid Rise in Tollywood: A New Competitor for Tier-2 Heroes
Renowned hero Dulquer Salmaan has carved a unique identity for himself in the South Indian film industry. As the heir of Malayalam cinema legend Mammootty, Dulquer has quickly established his own separate fan base within a short period. Proving himself a worthy son with his remarkable acting skills, he has also made significant inroads into Tollywood, gaining a solid fan following. However, it appears that Dulquer is now shifting his focus entirely towards the Telugu industry. Announcing back-to-back projects in Telugu, he seems ready to give stiff competition to Tier-2 heroes like Ram, Vijay Deverakonda, Naga Chaitanya, and Nithiin.
Dulquer as a Rising Hero in Tollywood!
With just two or three films, young hero Dulquer Salmaan has managed to achieve star hero status in Tollywood. His role as Gemini Ganesan in the Telugu film 'Mahanati', directed by Nag Ashwin, impressed everyone. His exceptional performance mesmerized the Telugu audience. Following this, he captivated viewers as a hero in the film 'Sita Ramam'. Playing a soldier, a lover, and a prisoner in an enemy country, his diverse performances have won the hearts of Telugu cinema-goers. Recently, he played a significant role in 'Kalki 2898 AD' starring Prabhas, portrayed as a mentor who plays a critical role in Prabhas's life, akin to the mythical figure Parashurama. Rumors suggest that Dulquer will continue his role in 'Kalki 2'.
Recognition through Dubbed Films
In addition to direct Telugu films, several movies in which he acted in Tamil and Malayalam were dubbed into Telugu. Dulquer Salmaan's films, up to nine in number, have reached Telugu audiences. Movies directed by Mani Ratnam like 'Ok Bangaram', and those he starred in with Sai Pallavi like 'Hey Pillagada', and 'Andamaina Jeevitham' have greatly attracted the Telugu youth, giving them a feeling of kinship with Dulquer. Action films like 'Kurup', 'Salute', and 'King of Kotha' also gained good will among the mass audience. With this, Dulquer has evolved into a hero who embodies a blend of class and mass appeal in the Telugu film industry.
Aggression with New Projects
With his star hero status in Telugu, directors and producers in Tollywood are keen to work with Dulquer. Consequently, he is actively engaging in Tollywood projects with enthusiasm. He is currently working with director Venky Atluri in the film 'Lucky Bhaskar', set to release on October 31. Additionally, he has agreed to a Pan-India project titled 'Aakashamlo Oka Tara' under the direction of Pavan Sadineni, which has already generated interest with its first look poster showing Dulquer in a farmer’s role. Meanwhile, he has started a new project under Rana's production titled 'Kantha', where he will be seen alongside Tollywood's rising beauty Bhagyashree Borase. Set in the 1950s, Rana plays a key role in this film directed by Tamil director Selvamani Selvaraj.

Strong Competition for Tier-2 Heroes!
Given Dulquer Salmaan's momentum in Tollywood, it seems inevitable that he will pose strong competition to Tier-2 heroes like Ram, Vijay Deverakonda, Naga Chaitanya, and Nithiin. Film analysts believe that if at least two of his current three projects hit, his stature will significantly rise. With his classic looks and the capability to electrify action sequences, Dulquer is fast becoming a preferred choice for Telugu directors. Heroes suffering from a series of flops, like Naga Chaitanya, Ram, and Vijay Deverakonda, need to be cautious about the competition from Dulquer.

Recently, the makers have released this movie on OTT, bringing it to two platforms. Currently, on OTT, 'Kalki' is making new records and is trending as the second film globally. Trending on a Global Scale
The film 'Kalki 2898 AD' has been available on OTT since August 22. The Kalki movie in South Indian languages, including Telugu, is streaming on Amazon Prime, while the Hindi version is available on Netflix. However, the Hindi version of 'Kalki' is soaring with record views on Netflix. It secured second place in the global trending list in non-English categories over the past week. The Hindi version of Kalki has achieved 4.5 million minutes viewed, as disclosed by Netflix sources. It's being touted as the first Indian movie to achieve this feat in such a short time, indicating that 'Kalki' is also making waves globally on OTT.
Behind in Amazon
As known, the Kalki film is streaming in South Indian languages on Amazon. Despite this, 'Raayan' is trending at the top spot in India, pushing 'Kalki' to the second place on Amazon with more views. However, with many already having watched 'Kalki', 'Raayan' is gaining popularity on OTT.
'The Best of This Generation’…
Hero Siddharth has praised the 'Kalki' team. Recently posting about the film, he lauded Prabhas’s role as exceptional. "I really like Prabhas. His character Bhairava will always remain my favorite. The film made such collections because it’s truly a great cinema," said Siddharth. ANR Centennial: Chiranjeevi Reflects on Past Conflict with Mohan Babu as He Receives National Award
The centennial celebrations of Akkineni Nageswara Rao were held grandly on Monday at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. The event was attended by numerous celebrities including Megastar Chiranjeevi, Amitabh Bachchan, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Ram Charan, and Naga Chaitanya. During the event, Chiranjeevi was honored with the 'ANR National Award'. The award was presented to him by Amitabh Bachchan. Subsequently, Chiranjeevi reminisced about a past dispute with Mohan Babu during the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
What Happened?
In 2007, during the 75th anniversary of the Telugu film industry, the Tollywood community celebrated the Diamond Jubilee event where it was decided to honor Megastar Chiru with a Legendary Award. Actor Mohan Babu made some sharp comments about this. He mentioned that some came to honor him as a celebrity, not as a legend, and suggested, "Write a book defining what a legend is and what a celebrity is and then give awards. Am I not a legend for being the first actor from the industry to serve in Rajya Sabha, for educating 25% of poor students for free, for acting in more than 500 films, and producing 45 films?"
https://twitter.com/lyf_a_zindagii/status/1850924373890552313
What did Chiru say?
Reacting to Mohan Babu's questioning, Chiranjeevi responded strongly. "There are Rama Rao, Raghavendra Rao, Bapu, Vishwanath, and Dasari Narayana Rao; they are the legends. Give the award to them. My peers like Balakrishna, Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, and I are of the same age. Don’t separate me from them by giving me this award. I’ve said before that I don’t want the Legendary Award. However, some objected when I was about to receive it. If I am deemed unworthy, I will not accept the award. I will surrender it in a box and will only take it when I am deemed worthy. By the time of the 100-year celebrations, if I become a legend along with Balakrishna, Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, Pawan Kalyan, and Mahesh Babu, I will accept it. Until then, I bury that award," he stated during the Diamond Jubilee celebration.
What did Chiru say at the ANR event?
At the prestigious ANR National Award ceremony, Megastar Chiranjeevi received the award. Recalling the Diamond Jubilee event, he expressed, "If I consider the Telugu film industry my home, then the opportunity to win came in 2007. I was very happy that everyone agreed to honor me with the Legendary Award. However, due to some adversities, I felt it was not the right time to accept it. I decided to keep the award in a box until I felt worthy. Today, receiving the great ANR award, particularly from Amitabh Bachchan and with my friend Nagarjuna welcoming me wholeheartedly, I feel like I have truly won at home."
https://twitter.com/i/status/1850904660875288817
‘I was shivering at those words’
Chiranjeevi made interesting remarks about Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, who presented the award. He noted that whenever something good happens or he receives an award, the first congratulations come from Amitabh. Recalling the Padma Vibhushan award, Chiranjeevi mentioned, "When I received the Padma Vibhushan, Amitabh called me the 'King of Indian Cinema,' which made me shiver. But it filled my heart with immense joy. It goes without saying that a film by SS Rajamouli always comes with high expectations. When paired with superstar Mahesh Babu, these expectations reach new heights. It's already known that Mahesh Babu is undergoing a significant makeover for the movie. His new look has been spotted in various contexts, sporting long hair and a beard, a dramatic change from his usual style. Recently, Mahesh wowed everyone again with a stylish new look. Photos related to this are currently shaking up social media.
Mahesh Babu's Mind-Blowing Look!
Fans are eagerly awaiting the upcoming project 'SSMB 29' (working title), a collaboration between Mahesh Babu and the legendary director SS Rajamouli. For this film, Mahesh has grown out his hair and beard and bulked up his body. Consequently, his recent appearances have gone viral. Once again, Mahesh Babu's looks are trending online. While heading abroad, he was spotted at the airport looking stylish in a cream-colored hoodie, black goggles, and a red cap, complementing his long hair and rough beard. Recently, photos of Mahesh and his wife meeting Telangana CM Revanth Reddy have surfaced, showing that his hair and beard have grown even bushier compared to his previous look. Staying Close to His Son?
Superstar Mahesh Babu often travels abroad with his family. It's known that he has once again set off on an international trip. A viral video from the airport shows him with his wife Namrata and daughter Sitara. However, it seems he traveled to the US to be with his son Gautam during the Dussehra holidays. https://twitter.com/i/status/1843173118166356044
Is This Really Mahesh Babu's Look?
Fans are going crazy over Mahesh Babu's latest look, praising him for resembling a Hollywood hero. Comments suggest that Mahesh's look for 'SSMB29' is nearly finalized. However, the Tollywood buzz indicates that this is the look Mahesh will sport in the movie. After letting his hair and beard grow out, Rajamouli is expected to call in a hair stylist from abroad to style Mahesh into four or five different looks. Which one Rajamouli finalizes will ultimately be the look used in the film. Thus, fans mistakenly thought the current look was the final one.
Mahesh Enjoys Freedom!
Rajamouli takes special care to ensure the looks of his film's heroes remain a secret. He typically sets conditions to prevent the reveal of the look during the shooting period. Stars like Prabhas, Ram Charan, and Jr NTR followed this practice during the filming of 'Bahubali' and 'RRR.' Unlike them, Mahesh freely poses for cameras wherever he goes, revealing his makeover in some form. However, the reason Mahesh can roam freely is likely because this is not his final look. Once the final look is decided, Mahesh will probably take measures to avoid exposing it.
Shooting Starts in December
Currently, pre-production work for 'SSMB 29' is almost complete after several months of preparation. The entire team is expected to participate in a workshop by the end of this month. Rajamouli plans to start regular shooting from December. Furthermore, preparations are underway to begin the first schedule abroad, with a massive chase sequence planned in international forests. Given the global scale of the cinema, graphics work is crucial, and Rajamouli intends to finish these scenes first and then hand them over to the VFX team, ensuring that shooting and VFX work proceed in parallel.

ANR 100th Birth Anniversary: Celebrating Akkineni Nageswara Rao, the Pioneer of Dance in Tollywood
Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), one of the foundational pillars of Tollywood, needs no special introduction. Recognized as a Dadasaheb Phalke Award recipient, Padma Vibhushan, and Natasamrat, he left an indelible mark on the industry. Born on September 20, 1924, as his centenary completes today, fans globally are celebrating his 100th birth anniversary. Although widely known as a legendary actor, not everyone is aware that he was also an excellent dancer. In fact, he was the one who introduced dance to Tollywood, a fact that might be unknown to this generation. Let’s delve into this special report to learn more about it.
[toc]
The Pioneer of Dance in Tollywood
Looking back to the early days of Tollywood, dance was not a primary focus when the industry first began. Leading actors were not keen on dancing; their focus was entirely on how to act and express emotions to captivate the audience. This was particularly noticeable between the 1960s and 1970s. When heroines danced, heroes would often just stand by, a point of criticism at the time. However, Akkineni Nageswara Rao completely changed these dynamics. While many associate Tollywood dance primarily with Megastar Chiranjeevi, it was Nageswara Rao who laid the groundwork for dance in the industry, making it an essential skill for heroes, matching and even excelling alongside heroines in dance. At one point, seeing Nageswara Rao’s dance, contemporaries like Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, Superstar Krishna, Shobhan Babu, and Krishnam Raju also began to emphasize dance in their films.
Audiences Mesmerized by Akkineni's Steps!
In the 1971 film 'Dasara Bullodu', ANR’s performance in the song ‘Ettage Unnadi Olammi’ was mesmerizing. Similarly, in 'Bangaru Babu', his dance to 'Chengavi Rangu Cheera' electrified audiences who, until then, primarily enjoyed songs for their auditory appeal. Specifically, his dance in 'Prem Nagar' for the song ‘Nenu Puttanu Lokam Navvindi’ became a trendsetter. Additionally, his competitive dance with Sridevi in 'Premabhishekam' for the song 'Ne Kallu Chebuthunnayi' delighted everyone. He also matched steps with Megastar Chiranjeevi in the film 'Mechanic Alludu'. There’s a long list of such performances, some of which are linked below for a glimpse into his prowess.

Inspired by Nageswara Rao...
Even Megastar Chiranjeevi, known for his dance, was inspired by Nageswara Rao at one point. It’s said that Chiru enhanced the importance of dance in films after watching Nageswara Rao’s movies. In an event, Chiranjeevi made interesting remarks about ANR's influence, noting that after watching Chiru’s dance, one might wonder if his body actually had any bones at all. Over the decades, as Chiranjeevi became a peerless hero in acting and dancing, he carried forward the legacy initiated by Nageswara Rao, which now continues with stars like Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, NTR, and Ram Pothineni.

Interesting Post by Balakrishna
On the occasion of ANR's 100th birth anniversary, actor Balakrishna posted a touching tribute, expressing pride in remembering Nageswara Rao. He noted that ANR's iconic roles and invaluable contributions to Telugu cinema are unforgettable and serve as a guiding light to all actors. Balakrishna urged everyone to express their gratitude for the immense services ANR provided to the film industry, from theater to cinema. His journey is an inspiration to all.

Ties and Tangles: The Marital Saga of the Akkineni Family
Tollywood actor Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and renowned actress Sobhita Dhulipala are soon to be united in marriage. Their engagement ceremony was recently held in the presence of family members, a grand affair announced personally by Akkineni Nagarjuna, which quickly went viral. However, Naga Chaitanya was previously married to star actress Samantha. Due to disagreements, they separated. With Naga Chaitanya's recent engagement, the topic of his divorce has resurfaced. There is also a discussion online suggesting that marriages do not seem to last in the Akkineni family, with netizens recalling that nearly four couples within the family have gone through divorces. Let's now look into the details of these instances.
The Akkineni Family
Even before the divorce between Naga Chaitanya and Samantha, four other couples in the family had already ended their marriages. The legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Annapurnamma had five children, among them, Akkineni Nagarjuna became a well-known actor. Their eldest son, Akkineni Venkat, produced several films. Their daughter, Satyavati's children, Sumanth and Supriya, are also well-recognized in the Telugu film industry. Another daughter, Nagasusheela's son Sushanth, is also making his mark as an actor.

Nagarjuna’s Divorce
Sumanth’s Divorce
Sumanth, the nephew of Nagarjuna and son of Satyavati and Surendra Yarlagadda, was doing well in his career when he fell in love with actress Keerthi Reddy, famed for 'Tholi Prema'. They married in August 2004 but, for unknown reasons, divorced two years later. Keerthi Reddy settled in Bangalore, while Sumanth has remained single and is recently becoming busy with films again.
Tragedy in Supriya’s Life
Sumanth's sister, Supriya Yarlagadda, also faced a similar situation. She debuted as an actress in the movie 'Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi', starring Pawan Kalyan. Later, she distanced herself from acting and got more involved in film production. Eventually, she married an actor named Charan Reddy with the approval of her elders, but their marriage did not last long. Charan Reddy passed away due to health issues, and since then, she has been living alone.
Cancellation of Akhil’s Marriage
Before the marriage of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha, Akhil Akkineni was ready to tie the knot. His engagement also took place with Shriya Bhupal, a relative of Ram Charan’s wife Upasana. However, this did not lead to marriage. For some reasons, Akhil and Shriya's wedding was canceled. Following the cancellation, Shriya Bhupal married another man, while Akhil has been striving for success in the film industry.
Naga Chaitanya and Samantha’s Divorce
In 2017, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha got married in Goa, after a love that blossomed following their acquaintance during the making of the movie ‘Ye Maaya Chesave’ in 2010. After seven years of being in a relationship, they got married and were recognized as Tollywood’s cute couple. Unexpectedly, they divorced in 2021, shocking fans and the entire cinema world. At that time, Samantha was heavily criticized, with some blaming her bold roles in films post-marriage as the reason for their separation.
