Prabhas on Fire: New Pan-India Projects with Top Directors Across India – Hirani, Neel, Kanagaraj & More!
Rebel Star Prabhas is currently on a roll in his career, setting up a lineup of pan-India projects in a way no other hero has managed to do. After scoring a solid hit with 'Kalki 2898 AD', Prabhas is actively shooting for 'The Raja Saab'. Recently, he has started filming 'Fauji' under the direction of Hanu Raghavapudi. Additionally, projects like 'Spirit' and 'Kalki 2' are ready to go on floors. Beyond these, it's known that Prabhas has greenlit three more solid projects, preparing to work with star directors from various Indian languages. Let's find out who these directors are and what the movies are about.
With Tamil Director Lokesh Kanagaraj...
There's a strong buzz that Prabhas will collaborate with Tamil star director Lokesh Kanagaraj, known for blockbusters like 'Khaidi', 'Vikram', 'Master', and 'Leo'. The internet is rife with speculation about this upcoming project, which is expected to be a pan-India film produced by a leading Tollywood production banner. Currently, Lokesh Kanagaraj is directing 'Coolie' with Rajinikanth and will soon start 'Khaidi 2' with Karthi. It's likely that Prabhas's film with Lokesh will commence after these projects.
With Hindi Director Rajkumar Hirani...
Prabhas has expressed that working with Bollywood star director Rajkumar Hirani would be a dream project. This dream seems likely to come true soon, as buzz suggests that the Rajkumar Hirani-Prabhas project could start rolling soon. There are strong indications from Bollywood that an official announcement might come by the end of this year or early next year. Hirani, known for directing hits like 'Munna Bhai MBBS', '3 Idiots', 'PK', 'Sanju', and 'Dunki', has a dedicated fan base in Hindi cinema, and Prabhas's global fan following could mean that this combo might break all records.
With Kannada Director Prashanth Neel...
It is known that Prabhas will be working on another film with Kannada star director Prashanth Neel after the whirlwind success of their movie 'Salaar', which captivated audiences with its intense action scenes. Prashanth Neel has already announced a sequel, 'Salaar 2', and even provided a link to the second part at the end of the first movie. However, Neel is currently launching 'NTR 31' with Jr. NTR, and shooting will start soon. Following this film, there's a chance that 'Salaar 2' will begin production.
Into the Universe of Prasanth Varma!
Young director Prasanth Varma, who gained pan-India attention with 'Hanu Man', is set to collaborate with Prabhas. Prabhas has reportedly given the green light to Varma's story, confirming that this partnership will materialize. The prominent production house Hombale Films is gearing up to produce this movie. Currently, Prasanth Varma is handling two major projects, 'Jai Hanuman' and the debut film of Balakrishna's son Mokshagna Teja. After these, a film with Prabhas is expected to follow.

The Rise of Pan India Cinema: Stars Breaking 100 Crore Opening Records on Day One
The wave of Pan India films is currently ongoing in the country. Once confined to their own industries, star heroes are now proving their mettle in other industries as well. They are releasing their films at a national level and collecting large sums of money, with some of them amassing over Rs. 100 crores in their accounts on the first day itself. A recent highlight is the film 'Devara' starring Tarak, which raked in Rs. 172 crores on its first day. Let's now review who these star heroes are, who have managed to place their films in the Rs. 100 crore club on day one.
Prabhas
Currently, Prabhas enjoys an unmatched craze in the country. Whenever his film is released, records are expected to break. Prabhas tops as the hero who most frequently earned over Rs. 100 crores on the first day. Prabhas achieved this feat five times with 'Baahubali 2' (Rs. 214.5 crores), 'Saaho' (Rs. 130 crores), 'Adipurush' (Rs. 140 crores), 'Salaar' (Rs. 178.7 crores), and 'Kalki 2898 AD' (Rs. 191.5 crores).
Vijay
Following Prabhas, Vijay has also often surpassed Rs. 100 crores in collections on the first day. His films 'Leo', and 'The G.O.A.T' managed to achieve this feat. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, 'Leo' earned Rs. 145 crores on its first day. The recently released 'The Greatest Of All Time' collected Rs. 126.3 crores on its first day.
Jr NTR
With the success of the movie 'Devara', Tarak has positioned himself in the top 3 of this list. Two of his films managed to surpass the Rs. 100 crore mark on their first day. Directed by the legendary Rajamouli, the film 'RRR', starring Tarak and Ram Charan, secured Rs. 223 crores on its first day. Tarak’s recent film 'Devara' also collected Rs. 172 crores on its first day, solidifying his status as a Pan India star.
Shah Rukh Khan
Bollywood's king Shah Rukh Khan has achieved this milestone twice. His films 'Pathaan', and 'Jawan' exceeded Rs. 100 crores on the first day. Directed by Siddharth Anand and co-starring Deepika Padukone, 'Pathaan' amassed Rs. 106 crores on its first day. Following that, 'Jawan', directed by Tamil director Atlee, collected Rs. 129 crores worldwide on its debut day.
Yash
Kannada actor Yash entered the Rs. 100 crore club on the first day with the film 'KGF 2'. Before 'KGF', Yash was limited to the Kannada industry, but the success of this film brought him Pan India fame. 'KGF 2' attracted nationwide attention by earning Rs. 164 crores on its first day.
Ranbir Kapoor
Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor shook the box office with 'Animal', directed by the daring and dashing director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. This film marked the first time Ranbir entered the Rs. 100 crore club on the first day, collecting Rs. 116 crores upon its release on December 1 last year.
Ram Charan
Alongside Tarak in 'RRR', directed by Rajamouli, mega superstar Ram Charan also starred as a hero. This film made an impact by earning Rs. 223 crores on its first day. Directed by Shankar, his upcoming film 'Game Changer' is also expected to surpass Rs. 100 crores on its first day, as per the confidence expressed by Charan's fans. Vijay's 'The Goat' Makes a Strong Impact with First-Day Collections Despite Mixed Reviews
Tamil superstar Vijay stars in the latest action thriller 'The Goat' (The Greatest Of All Time), directed by Venkat Prabhu. Meenakshi Chaudhary plays the leading lady, while Sneha, Laila, Prashanth, and Prabhu Deva have significant roles. This film, developed with de-aging technology, has garnered high expectations as it is rumored to be Vijay's final movie before his political entry. It was released worldwide on Thursday (September 5) and received mixed reactions in the Telugu states, but it was a hit among Vijay's fans in Tamil Nadu. Let’s see how the movie performed on its first day.
Day 1 Collections
Matching the high expectations, 'The Goat' (The Greatest Of All Time) raked in impressive collections on its first day. In India alone, the film is estimated to have grossed over ₹55 crores, with a net collection of ₹43 crores. Tamil Nadu alone contributed a gross of ₹38.3 crores. The Telugu states accounted for ₹3 crores and Hindi markets brought in ₹1.7 crores in gross collections. The worldwide gross is expected to surpass ₹80 crores on the first day. However, according to trade estimates, 'The Goat' could not surpass the record set by Vijay’s previous film 'Leo', which collected ₹148.5 crores on its first day.
What's 'The Goat' Like?
Director Venkat Prabhu’s story does not present much novelty. Movies featuring a hero working in defense sectors and villains raising the hero’s son only to use him against the hero have been seen before. However, the scenes depicting the son’s revenge feel intriguing. The first half mainly introduces the hero and other characters, progressing predictably until the pre-interval. The interval scene raises interest for the second half, which largely unfolds as expected, but the climax is crafted to captivate. The twists in the second half are sure to surprise the audience. The Tamil essence in comedy and dialogues might not appeal much to the Telugu audience, but Vijay's fans will likely find the film immensely engaging.
The Plot
Gandhi (Vijay), a special anti-terrorism squad officer, conducts various successful missions with his teammates Sunil (Prashant), Ajay (Ajmal), and Kalyan Sundaram (Prabhu Deva). However, he keeps his job a secret from his wife Anu (Sneha). During one mission abroad, his five-year-old son dies. Believing her husband to be responsible, Anu distances herself from Gandhi. Distraught, Gandhi leaves the force. Years later, on a trip to Moscow, he encounters his son Jeevan (Vijay), whom he thought was dead, alive. Overjoyed, he brings him back to India. From then on, Gandhi’s acquaintances start dying one by one. Who is responsible for these deaths? How did his presumed-dead son come back? How does Gandhi stop the killings? These questions form the crux of the story.

Rajinikanth vs KS Ravi Kumar: Sensational Allegations by Tamil Director. What Did He Say?
Tamil superstar Rajinikanth is well-known for his widespread fan following across India. He is loved by fans beyond the film industry itself, with a strong fan base in Tollywood. Notably, prominent director K.S. Ravi Kumar has made sensational allegations against Rajinikanth. He expressed his dissatisfaction, blaming Rajinikanth for the flop of his movie. These comments have become a hot topic in Kollywood and nationwide. Let's look into the details.
'Rajinikanth created chaos'
The allegations made by Kollywood star director K.S. Ravi Kumar against superstar Rajinikanth are currently causing a significant stir. Their previous collaboration on the movie 'Lingaa' did not meet expectations. Recently, in an interview given to a YouTube channel, the director spoke about the failure of the movie. "Superstar Rajinikanth interfered with the editing of Lingaa. He didn’t give me any time to work on the computer graphics. He completely changed the second half of the movie. A song with Anushka and a twist in the climax were removed. He even added an artificial balloon jumping scene himself. Overall, Rajinikanth messed up the entire movie," Ravi Kumar made these critical comments. These remarks have gone viral on social media.
Working on Three Films!
Director K.S. Ravi Kumar is well-regarded in Kollywood and has had a good relationship with Rajinikanth. They had worked together before 'Lingaa' on blockbusters like 'Muthu' and 'Narasimha'. Then came 'Lingaa' in 2014. Featuring dual roles by Rajinikanth and starring Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka as the heroines, this message-oriented movie came with high expectations but did not perform as expected. However, it did fairly well in terms of collections. Made on a budget of Rs. 100 crores, the film collected around Rs. 120-130 crores at the box office.
After 33 Years, With Mani Ratnam...!
Exciting news has emerged about Rajinikanth’s future project. There is strong buzz that he will be working with star director Mani Ratnam. It’s been 33 years since their last collaboration, and rumors are circulating that they will be working together again. Their last joint venture was the highly successful 'Thalapathi' in 1991. Since then, they haven’t made a movie together. Discussions between Rajinikanth and Mani Ratnam have reportedly taken place for a new project. If all goes as planned, an official announcement may come by December, around Rajinikanth's birthday, according to Kollywood circles.
Rajinikanth Recovers from Illness!
Superstar Rajinikanth recently recovered from an illness. He was admitted to a prominent hospital in Chennai on September 30th after doctors discovered swelling in the main artery coming from his heart. He underwent a transcatheter procedure and had a stent placed. With his health stabilized, he was discharged on the night of October 3rd. Doctors have advised him to rest for a few weeks. Currently, he is resting at home with his family, and his fans are eagerly hoping he will return to shooting soon.
Rajinikanth's Film in the Dasara Competition
Rajinikanth's latest film 'Vettaiyan' is set to release this week on a pan-India scale. Directed by T.J. Gnanavel, known for the social message movie 'Jai Bhim', this film is produced by Lyca Productions. It stars Amitabh, Fahadh Faasil, Rana, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan in key roles. Anirudh provided the music. Scheduled for a Dasara release on October 10th, the movie is highly anticipated following the blockbuster 'Jailer', which also featured Rajinikanth.
Star Cast in 'Coolie'!
Rajinikanth currently has another big project on his hands with 'Coolie'. As his 171st film, 'Coolie' is shaping up under the direction of Lokesh Kanagaraj, following a series of hits like 'Master', 'Vikram', and 'Leo'. Naturally, expectations are high for 'Coolie'. The movie, set against a backdrop of gold smuggling, is being crafted by Lokesh Kanagaraj. In 'Coolie Number 1421', Rajinikanth will appear in a prominent role. Tollywood veteran actor Nagarjuna is playing a special character named Simon, who is crucial to the plot. Additionally, Kannada star hero Upendra is also part of the cast. Other popular actors like Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, and Sathyaraj are also participating in this significant project.
