OTT Platform: ETV Win
The latest Telugu romantic love drama web series, "Sasimadhanam," has premiered on the popular OTT platform ETV Win starting July 4. The main roles are played by Pavan Sidhu and Soniya Singh, who have previously starred together in several short films and are rumored to be a couple in real life. How does the series fare? How captivating is their chemistry? Let's find out in this review.
What's the Story?
Madan (Pavan Sidhu) from Warangal lives with his brother's family and earns money through betting. He falls in love with Sasi (Soniya Singh) from Hyderabad. After losing a significant amount of money in betting, Madan encounters difficulties. When he learns that Sasi's family will be away for ten days for a wedding, he decides to visit her. However, on the night he arrives, the wedding is canceled, and her family unexpectedly returns. How did Madan manage to evade Sasi's family? What challenges did he encounter? How did he interfere with Sasi's arranged marriage prospects? Did Sasi's family eventually accept their marriage? These questions form the crux of the series plot.
Performances
The acting of Soniya Singh and Pavan Sidhu is a major highlight of the series. Their real-life relationship adds an authentic touch to their on-screen chemistry. They both delivered charming performances. Pradeep, who plays Sasi's father, excels with his comedic timing, while Ashok Chandra adds an emotional touch in the grandfather role. Keshav Deepak, as Madan's brother, and Roopa Lakshmi, as the family matriarch, among others, effectively contribute to the series.
Direction
Director Winod Gali successfully crafted a charming love story series, diverging from the usual bold suspense thrillers. Although the plot is conventional, he managed to keep it captivating. The intrigue surrounding what happens next, especially after the hero becomes trapped in the heroine's house, holds the audience's attention. The comedic tension that emerges as Madan attempts to hide with Sasi's assistance adds entertainment value. However, some scenes feel repetitive and the series suffers from a lack of visual variety because it is set in a single location. The screenplay could have been improved.
Technically
Musically, Sinjit Yerramilli did well, especially with two songs that stand out. The background score is adequate. The cinematography is also good, providing fresh visuals suitable for a love story. The production values are high.
Plus Points
- Acting by Siddhu and Soniya
- Confusion comedy
- Music
Minus Points
- Routine story
- The secondary love track
- Some boring scenes

Nikhil's 'Appudo Ippudo Eppudo' Review: A London Love Story That Misses Its Mark
Cast: Nikhil, Divyansha Kaushik, Satya, Ajay, Sai Ram Reddy, Rukmini Vasanth, Harsha Chemudu, and others
Writer, Director: Sudheer Varma
Music: Karthik
Cinematography: Richard Prasad
Editing: Naveen Nooli
Producer: B.V.S.N. Prasad
Release Date: November 8, 2024
The latest film ‘Appudo Ippudo Eppudo’ features young hero Nikhil, directed by Sudheer Varma, known for films like ‘Swamy Ra Ra’ and ‘Keshava.’ Produced by B.V.S.N. Prasad and presented by B. Bapineedu, Rukmini Vasanth plays the lead actress, with Divyansha Kaushik in a key role. The film hit theaters on November 8. How does it fare? Does it captivate the Telugu audience? Has it brought success to Nikhil? Let’s find out in this review.
Story
Rishi (Nikhil), from Hyderabad, is a carefree young man with little interest in his career. He falls for Tara (Rukmini Vasanth) at first sight. However, due to certain dramatic events, their love ends in a breakup. After the heartbreak, Rishi shifts his focus to his career and moves to London. There, he trains as a racer while taking up odd jobs for pocket money. During this time, he becomes close to Tulasi (Divyansha Kaushik) and even decides to marry her. But Tulasi suddenly goes missing. Meanwhile, Tara, the girl he once loved, unexpectedly shows up in London, and Rishi finds himself entangled with a local don, Badrinarayana (John Vijay). Who is Badrinarayana? What happened to Tulasi? Why did Tara come to London? To find out, you’ll have to watch the movie.
Performances
Hero Nikhil captivates as usual with his steady performance, entertaining the audience with his looks and comic timing, though there are no particularly striking moments in his role. Rukmini Vasanth impresses with her natural acting, skillfully expressing emotions and proving herself as a talented actress once again. Divyansha Kaushik shines in her role as Tulasi, a character with negative shades, and receives good marks for her looks and glamour. Comedian Harsha Chemudu’s timing brings laughs, while John Vijay and Ajay’s roles are average. Satya and Sudarshan add momentum to the storyline.
Direction
Director Sudheer Varma opted for a routine story for ‘Appudo Ippudo Eppudo’ but managed to infuse his mark through storytelling and screenplay. Notably, he introduces the story from the perspective of a third person (comedian Satya), which adds interest. However, the two love tracks between the hero and heroines feel tedious. The introduction of the hero and his first love track make the first half feel slow, while the second half is somewhat better. The director struggles with key scenes, and the twists reveal poorly. Nevertheless, he manages to keep the film afloat to some extent with the comedy of Harsha Chemudu, Satya, and Sudarshan. The film lacks commercial appeal, and weak action sequences are additional drawbacks.
Technically
In terms of technical work, Richard Prasad’s cinematography is good, while Karthik’s songs are average. The background score is passable, editing is adequate, and the production values match the story well.
Plus Points

Minus Points

Tollywood actor Adivi Sesh is making strides with a variety of unique films. He's on a roll with a hat-trick of successes including 'Evaru', 'Major', and 'Hit 2'. Last December, he agreed to a Pan India project that caught everyone’s attention when it was announced that star heroine Shruti Haasan would be acting as the heroine. The project, dubbed 'Sesh Ex Shruti', even released a special poster. Preparations to commence shooting were underway when suddenly news surfaced that Shruti Haasan gave a shock to the film unit by quitting the project abruptly.

The combination of young hero Adivi Sesh and star heroine Shruti Haasan had initially drawn considerable attention to this project. It remains uncertain whether the producers will convince Shruti to return or choose a new heroine.

The film’s team has indicated that the story involves the lead characters engaging in a series of heists and falling in love during their escapades. Love Reddy Movie Review: A Heartwarming Tale of Love and Honor
Cast: Anjan Ramachandra, Shravani Reddy, N.T. Ramaswami, Ganesh D.S., Ravi Kalabrahma, Vani Gouda, and others.
Written and Directed by: Smaran Reddy
Music by: Prince Henry
Cinematography by: Mohan Chari, Askar Ali
Editor: Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao
Producer: Hemalatha Reddy
Release Date: October 18, 2024
Anjan Ramachandra and Shravani Reddy lead in Smaran Reddy’s 'Love Reddy', with N.T. Ramaswami, Ganesh D.S., Ravi Kalabrahma, and Vani Gouda in supporting roles. The film, produced by Mythri Movie Makers, garnered high expectations among the audience, especially after the recent trailer spiked interest. Let’s see how it fared with the audience as it released on October 18.
The Story
Narayana Reddy (Anjan Ramachandra), at 30, is still unmarried. Despite numerous matchmaking attempts by his family, he rejects every proposal, claiming none of the girls meet his expectations. One day, he falls in love with Divya (Shravani Reddy) at first sight on a bus. Transforming into 'Love Reddy', he sees her as his world. Divya befriends Narayana but rejects his love proposal. Even though she likes Love Reddy, why did Divya reject him? What twist does Divya's entry bring to Narayana Reddy’s life? Does their love story end happily? The film must be watched to find out.
Performance Analysis
All actors in 'Love Reddy' are relatively new. Anjan Ramachandra impresses as the lovelorn Narayana Reddy, especially given that this is his first film, captivating with his natural acting. Shravani Reddy justifies her role as Divya. N.T. Ramaswami, playing Divya's father, catches everyone’s attention, especially with the twist he introduces in the climax. Jyothi Madan, as the girl who likes the hero, and the actor playing the hero’s brother, among others, performed well within their roles.
Direction Analysis
Director Smaran Reddy has crafted a pure love story revolving around the critical issue of honor and prestige. Though the story is routine, it's presented with a natural flair of Andhra-Karnataka locality. Starting with a matchmaking scene, the director makes the narrative engaging once the protagonist becomes 'Love Reddy'. However, his efforts to express his love come off as somewhat clichéd. The curiosity of whether Divya will reciprocate Love Reddy's feelings keeps the first half engaging. The second half, dealing with the rejection of his love and the reasons behind it, connects well with today's youth. The last 20 minutes are emotionally driven, making the climax particularly impactful. Overall, Smaran Reddy has marked a good score as a director.
Technical Aspects
On the technical front, Prince Henry's music is a major strength to the film, bringing scenes to life with his distinctive background score. The songs are appealing. The cinematography is commendable, richly presenting each frame. The editing is adequate, and the production values are high.
Plus Points
- Acting
- Emotions
- Music
Minus Points
- Routine story
- Dragged scenes in the first half

Viral Video: Woman Hits Actor at 'Love Reddy's' Blockbuster but Failure Meet!
Starring Anjan Ramachandra and Shravani as the leads, the recent movie 'Love Reddy' arrived in theaters last week and received positive feedback. The chemistry between the leads and the climax particularly resonated with the audience. However, despite the positive reviews, the movie has been disappointing in terms of collections. In response, the movie team initiated a unique event titled 'Blockbuster but Failure Meet' to interact with audiences in theaters. During one of these visits, an unexpected incident occurred where a woman attacked a member of the acting team, and the video of this incident has gone viral.
Why Did the Attack Happen?
Despite the positive reception of 'Love Reddy,' the lack of box office collections led the movie team to undertake a unique initiative. They started visiting cinemas where the movie was playing to gather feedback directly from the audience. Recently, while the team was at GPR Mall in Nizampet, Hyderabad, an incident occurred. During the climax scene, where the heroine’s father (N.T. Ramaswamy) hits his daughter with a stone for not accepting the hero, a woman in the audience, overcome with emotion from the scene, attacks the actor playing the father role. This sudden outburst shocked everyone present. Efforts were made to calm the woman down, explaining that it was just a movie.

How is 'Love Reddy'?
Directed by Smaran Reddy, 'Love Reddy' is a clean love story revolving around the theme of honor and dignity. Although it follows a routine storyline, it is presented naturally with an Andhra-Karnataka backdrop. The film starts with a matrimonial viewing scene and becomes more interesting as the hero transforms into 'Love Reddy.' However, his efforts to express his love seem quite routine. The curiosity of whether Divya will reciprocate Love Reddy’s feelings carries the first half. In the second half, the rejection of his love and the reasons stated connect well with today’s youth. The last 20 minutes are handled very emotionally by the director, culminating in a climax that weighs on the viewer's heart. Overall, Director Smaran Reddy has made a significant mark with this film.
The Storyline
Narayana Reddy (Anjan Ramachandra) is 30 and still unmarried. Despite numerous matches seen by his family, he rejects each one, claiming they do not appeal to him. One day on a bus, he sees Divya (Shravani Reddy) and falls in love at first sight, transforming her into his entire world. Divya befriends Narayana Reddy, but when he eventually gathers the courage to confess his love, she rejects his proposal. Why did Divya reject Love Reddy despite her feelings for him? How did Divya’s entry turn Narayana Reddy's life around? Does their love story have a happy ending? To find out, one must watch the movie.

Bhargavi Nilayam OTT Review: Tovino Thomas Shines in a Haunting Tale of Love and Revenge
Cast: Tovino Thomas, Chemban Vinod, Roshan Mathew, Reema Kallingal, Shine Tom Chacko, Abhiram Radhakrishnan
Director: Aashiq Abu
Cinematography: Girish Gangadharan
Editing: V. Sajan
Music: Bijibal, Rex Vijayan
Producers: Aashiq Abu, Reema Kallingal
OTT: Aha
This week, a Malayalam horror film has made its way to OTT platforms, aiming to captivate digital audiences. 'Bhargavi Nilayam', originally released in 1964, has been remade as 'Neelavelicham' in 2023 with several alterations. The movie stars Tovino Thomas, Reema Kallingal, Roshan Mathew, and Shine Tom Chacko, directed by Aashiq Abu. Released in April last year, the film greatly attracted Malayalam viewers. Recently, this movie has been dubbed into Telugu as 'Bhargavi Nilayam' and brought to OTT on Aha. How does the film fare? Does it engage the Telugu OTT audience? Let’s find out in this review.
The Story
'Bhargavi Nilayam' is set in a small village near the seaside, where the titular mansion has been abandoned for many years. The very mention of the mansion sends shivers down the spine of the villagers. It is said that Bhargavi (Reema Kallingal) haunts the house as a ghost, attempting to kill anyone who steps inside. In this context, a writer named Basheer (Tovino Thomas) arrives in the village. Unaware of the mansion's haunted history, he rents it. Financial constraints force him to stay, leading him to befriend the ghost. He decides to write a story about her. What caused Bhargavi’s death? How did her lover Shivakumar (Roshan Mathew) mysteriously disappear? How does Basheer uncover the mystery of this tragic love story? That forms the crux of the narrative.
Performance
Tovino Thomas excels in the role of the writer. His appearance and dialogue delivery are notably different from his previous films, bearing the weight of the movie on his shoulders. He leaves his mark in key scenes. The love pair, Reema Kallingal and Roshan Mathew, perform adequately. Shine Tom Chacko delivers a compelling performance as the villain, leaving a strong impact. Other actors perform well within their roles.
Direction
While Aashiq Abu has chosen a routine story for the movie, he succeeds in making the narrative engaging. The scenes depicting the tragic life of a couple, uncovered by a writer, are captivating. The segments where the hero enters the haunted house and the villagers scare him with dreadful tales are intriguing, maintaining suspense about what will happen next. The horror elements introduced occasionally do instill fear. The friendship between the hero and the ghost before the interval sets up an engaging second half. In the latter part, the director reveals the love story of Bhargavi and Shivakumar, and the villain behind their tragic fate. The climax shows Bhargavi’s revenge drama in an interesting manner. However, the routine storyline, boring love track, and standard horror scenes could be seen as negatives.
Technically
On the technical front, the cinematographer does an excellent job. His camera work effectively recreates the atmosphere of the 1960s. The background music also adds value to the film. The editing is adequate, and the production values are fitting for the film.
Plus Points
- Tovino Thomas’s performance
- Engaging narrative
- Strong technical department
Minus Points
- Routine horror concept
- Lack of thrilling elements

The Boy Who Wore 'Johnny' Headband for 7 Days Now Directs His Icon Pawan Kalyan: Sujeeth's Story
Young director Sujeeth (HBD Sujeeth) has carved a unique niche for himself in Tollywood. Although he has directed only two films so far, he has garnered a craze that many directors achieve only after many more films. Starting with 'Run Raja Run' as a director, Sujeeth caught everyone's attention at the pan-India level with 'Saaho'. Currently, he is directing 'OG' with Pawan Kalyan, capturing the mega fans' focus. Today, this talented director steps into his 34th year. Let's take a look at some secrets of his career.
Making Short Films at 17
Sujeeth Reddy was born in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, on October 26, 1990. Initially dreaming of becoming a Chartered Accountant, his growing interest in films led him to enroll in the L.V. Prasad Film & TV Academy. He started making short films on YouTube at the age of 17 and has directed over 30 short films to date.
Creativity in Short Films
Typically, YouTube short films are made on a low budget and are not expected to meet high standards. However, Sujeeth's films like 'Run Raja Run', 'Prema Ishq Kaadhal', 'Thokkalo Love Story', 'Vesham', 'Yuddham', 'Prema Care of Drama', and 'Indian Idol' surprised the film industry with their richness and showcased his mesmerizing creativity.

Initial Family Resistance
When Sujeeth expressed his desire to become a director, his family was initially reluctant. However, seeing his dedication to cinema, they eventually supported his decision. His mother even bought him his first camera with her own money, marking the beginning of his journey in the industry.
Guidance from Puri Jagannadh
Upon entering the industry with the aim to direct, Sujeeth initially decided to work as an assistant director under Puri Jagannadh. Meeting him, Puri recognized Sujeeth's abundant directorial skills and encouraged him to pursue directing.
Director at 23
While trying for a directorial break, UV Creations recognized Sujeeth's talent and offered him a chance to direct 'Run Raja Run'. Thus, at just 23, Sujeeth became a director and achieved solid success with his debut film.
Turning a Short Film into a Feature
Interestingly, 'Run Raja Run', which brought him significant recognition, was originally a short film that Sujeeth transformed into his first full-length feature by making a few changes to the story.
Before 'Baahubali'
UV Creations, which produced Prabhas's 'Mirchi', planned a second film with him and accepted a story from Sujeeth, which Prabhas liked. However, 'Baahubali' has not been released yet. After 'Baahubali', Prabhas's fame skyrocketed, leading Sujeeth to make adjustments to the story, and thus 'Saaho' was made on a pan-India scale. Despite not achieving expected success, Sujeeth's work at such a young age surprised everyone.

'Thandel' Creates Buzz: Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi Reunite for a Spectacular Shivaratri Special!
There is significant buzz in Tollywood about the movie 'Thandel', starring Akkineni Naga Chaitanya as the hero and Sai Pallavi as the heroine. This romantic action drama is shaping up after their blockbuster 'Love Story'. As this is the second film from the Chaitu-Sai Pallavi combo, expectations are high for 'Thandel'. Movie lovers are eagerly awaiting its release, and a thrilling update from 'Thandel' has just been released, delighting cinema fans.
Shivaratri Special Song
The film 'Thandel', directed by Chandu Mondeti and featuring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, is currently in the shooting phase. A Shivaratri-themed song is being filmed, for which a massive set has been erected. The makers have reportedly spent around 4 crores to make this song a visual treat, involving hundreds of dancers. According to Filmnagar circles, Sai Pallavi and Naga Chaitanya are set to dazzle with dance styles reminiscent of Shiva and Parvati. This is the first time a song of this scale with a Shivaratri theme has been composed in the history of Telugu cinema. Photos from the shooting spot released by the film unit are currently trending online, showcasing Chaitu and Sai Pallavi invoking the essence of Shiva and Parvati.
https://twitter.com/ThandelTheMovie/status/1840612058691183016
Here is the story of Thandel
'Thandel', the 23rd film in Naga Chaitanya's career, features music by Devi Sri Prasad. In this movie, Naga Chaitanya appears as a fisherman. A group of fishermen from Srikakulam go to Veeraval in Gujarat for fishing and get caught by the Pakistan Coast Guard. The film unfolds with what happens next. The term 'Thandel' means a boat operator in Gujarati and is commonly used by the people in the villages along the Gujarat-Pakistan border, as revealed by director Chandu Mondeti in an interview.
Chaitu’s Hopes Pinned on Thandel
Currently, Naga Chaitanya has set all his hopes on his next film 'Thandel'. After 'Love Story', he has not had a proper hit, with his recent films 'Bangarraju', 'Thank You', 'Laal Singh Chaddha', and last year's 'Custody' being failures at the box office. Therefore, Naga Chaitanya is determined to find success with 'Thandel'. He has reportedly put in a lot of effort for his role as a fisherman. The film is being produced by Bunny Vas under the GA2 Pictures banner, presented by Allu Aravind, who also produced Naga Chaitanya's hit film '100% Love' under Geetha Arts.
Sai Pallavi’s Projects
Currently, Sai Pallavi has some exciting projects in hand. She is acting alongside Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan in the film 'Amaran', which is set to hit theaters on October 31. She is also part of the prestigious Bollywood project 'Ramayana', where she will be seen as Sita. It is reported that she is receiving remuneration of over 15 crores for this role. Additionally, news has surfaced that Sai Pallavi has been chosen as the heroine in an upcoming film by director Sekhar Kammula, featuring hero Nani.

Sankranti Clash: Ram Charan's 'Game Changer' vs Naga Chaitanya's 'Thandel' Set to Ignite Box Office
Featuring Ram Charan, and directed by Shankar, the film 'Game Changer' is up next after the global hit 'RRR', setting high expectations. With Megastar Chiranjeevi withdrawing his film 'Vishwambhara' from the race, producer Dil Raju has officially announced the release of 'Game Changer' as a Sankranti gift. Meanwhile, Nagarjuna’s son, Naga Chaitanya, seems ready to compete with Charan, as strong buzz suggests his latest film 'Thandel' is targeting Sankranti too.
Thandel Enters the Sankranti Race!
Starring Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, 'Thandel' is generating significant buzz in Tollywood as a romantic action drama. Following their previous blockbuster, 'Love Story', expectations are high for this duo’s second film together. Movie lovers are eagerly awaiting this release, which the makers plan to push for a Sankranti release. Initially, the producers planned to release the film on December 20, but due to pending work, a Sankranti 2025 release is now deemed more suitable, with an official announcement expected soon.
Charan Versus Chaitu
In Tollywood history, Megastar Chiranjeevi and Akkineni Nagarjuna have clashed several times during Sankranti. This Sankranti, their heirs are set to battle it out, adding intrigue to the festive season. Following the success of RRR, Ram Charan has gained international fame, which he hopes to bolster with 'Game Changer'. On the other hand, Chaitanya is yet to secure a hit following 'Love Story'. With 'Thandel', he aims to reclaim his spot in the hit track. The repeat pairing of Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in 'Thandel' is anticipated to yield positive results. It remains to be seen who will emerge victorious in this face-off.
Strong Competition from Balakrishna!
Alongside 'Game Changer' and 'Thandel', Nandamuri Balakrishna will also be a strong contender this Sankranti. Directed by Bobby, 'NBK 109' is gearing up for a festive release. Balakrishna’s films have been successful in the last two Sankranti seasons, indicating stiff competition for 'Game Changer' and 'Thandel'. Additionally, a film directed by Anil Ravipudi starring Venkatesh is also likely to release during Sankranti, along with Sundeep Kishan's 'Majaka', making this Sankranti a battleground at the box office.
The Story of 'Thandel'
'Thandel' is Naga Chaitanya’s 23rd film, with music by Devi Sri Prasad. In this film, Chaitanya plays a fisherman. The story revolves around a group of fishermen from Srikakulam who go to Veeraval in Gujarat for fishing and get caught by the Pakistani Coast Guard. The film explores the events that unfold thereafter. In Gujarati, 'Thandel' means a boat operator, a term commonly used by people in the villages along the Gujarat-Pakistan border, as revealed by director Chandu Mondeti in an interview.

Nani and Sekhar Kammula Set for a First-Time Collaboration, Sai Pallavi Likely to Join
Director Sekhar Kammula, known for crafting classic films in Tollywood, especially youthful love entertainers, has carved a distinct identity for himself. Meanwhile, Natural Star Nani is also popularly seen as a 'lover boy' and is currently riding high after the success of his recent movie 'Saripodhaa Sanivaaram'. Amidst this backdrop, there is widespread buzz about an upcoming film under the direction of Sekhar Kammula starring Nani. It's being talked about that Sai Pallavi might join as the heroine for this movie.
Super Combo Loading
An exciting new combination is set to take shape in Tollywood with Nani and Sekhar Kammula teaming up for a new film, according to social media buzz. Tollywood circles are also abuzz with the prospects of this pairing. The script for this movie is reportedly ready, and Nani is expected to hear the final narration soon. The film is said to be a fresh love entertainer, and Sekhar Kammula is considering casting Sai Pallavi as the heroine, which is expected to be a great addition. If all goes as planned, an official announcement regarding this movie may be expected soon.
A Departure from Usual Style
Sekhar Kammula typically does not think about other projects while working on one, focusing entirely on the current film. However, he seems to have departed from this approach as he is already preparing stories for future projects while wrapping up current ones. This strategy might reduce the gap between his film releases. It is also noted that while working on these projects, Sekhar Kammula is already preparing the story for Nani's film. Currently, he is busy shooting 'Kubera', a pan-India film starring Tamil actor Dhanush and Telugu cinema stalwart Nagarjuna.
A First Time for This Combo
Till now, there hasn't been a film that brought Nani and Sekhar Kammula together. Sekhar has expressed his desire to work with Nani on multiple occasions. However, he has worked with Sai Pallavi in two films previously. She was introduced to the industry as a heroine with his film 'Fidaa', and she was also the leading lady in the film 'Love Story' starring Naga Chaitanya. Both these films were blockbuster successes and brought significant recognition to Sai Pallavi as an actress. On the other hand, Sai Pallavi and Nani have already worked together in two films, 'MCA' (Middle Class Abbayi) and 'Shyam Singha Roy', both of which received positive responses. Fans are eagerly anticipating a hat-trick success from their combo.
Will it Take a While?
After the film 'Saripodhaa Sanivaaram', Nani is currently gearing up for 'Hit 3' under the direction of Sailesh Kolanu. A glimpse of this film was recently released and captured attention. Additionally, Nani is planning another film with director Sujeeth and another with the director of 'Dasara'. Given these commitments, it might take another two years for this rare combo to be set, and Sekhar Kammula is also busy with the filming of 'Kubera'.

Purushothamudu Review: Raj Tarun's Journey from Billionaire to Common Man"
Cast: Raj Tarun, Hasini, Ramya Krishnan, Prakash Raj, and others.
Written and Directed by: Ram Bhimana
Music: Gopi Sundar
Cinematography: PG Vinda
Editing: Marthand K. Venkatesh
Producers: Dr. Ramesh Tejavath, Prakash Tejavath
Amidst personal and professional struggles, young hero Raj Tarun's latest film 'Purushothamudu' has arrived in theaters. Directed by Ram Bhimana and starring actress Hasini as the female lead, this film tests Raj Tarun's ability to rebound. Let’s see if it has succeeded in giving him a hit in this review.
What's the story?
Rachit Ram (Raj Tarun) was born a billionaire, the sole heir of Aditya Ram (Murali Sharma), who heads PR Groups. After completing his education abroad, Aditya decides to entrust his son with the CEO responsibilities. However, Rachit's aunt Vasundhara (Ramya Krishnan) objects to this. According to company rules, a candidate for CEO must live incognito as a common man for 100 days. Rachit agrees to this and steps outside his comfort zone. He travels to a remote village in Andhra Pradesh named Rayapulanka. What twists did Rachit’s life take there? What adventures did he undertake to save the village farmers? And what is his love story with Ammu? That forms the rest of the story.
Performances
Raj Tarun delivers a commendable performance in dual dimensions as Rachit Ram, convincingly playing both a billionaire and an unidentifiable common man. Hasini Sudheer, as the village girl Ammu, shines beautifully on screen, and the love scenes between Raj Tarun and Ammu are pleasing. Praveen provides comic relief in the friend’s role, while other comedians like Satya and Brahmanandam shine throughout the film.
Direction
We've seen many films where a wealthy young man lives as a common man for various reasons. Director Ram Bhimana has crafted 'Purushothamudu' in a similar vein. The real story begins when the wealthy hero reaches the village of Rayapulanka. The introductions and romantic scenes with the heroine are engaging. The first half is entertaining with village backdrop comedy, and the hero's stance against injustices in the village makes for an appealing interval bang. However, the narrative seems to lose track in the second half, meandering predictably and boringly without any significant twists. The climax, although predictable, is somewhat saved by Prakash Raj's entry and his impactful dialogues. Director Ram Bhimana fails to bring any novelty to the story or narration.
Technically
Musically, Gopi Sundar’s contributions are just passable, with none of the songs being particularly memorable. The background score is decent. PG Vinda’s cinematography is impressive, capturing the essence of village life beautifully. The editing is adequate, and the production values are suitably high for the film.
Plus Points
- Raj Tarun’s acting
- Some scenes in the first half
- Chemistry between the hero and heroine
Minus Points
- Routine story
- Predictable narrative
- Lack of twists

Writer and Director: Karuna Kumar
Music: G. V. Prakash
Cinematography: Kishore Kumar
Editing: Karthikeya Srinivas
Producers: Rajani Talluri, Vijender Reddy Teegal
Release Date: November 14, 2024
The latest action entertainer starring mega hero Varun Tej, 'Matka,' directed by Karuna Kumar and featuring Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female lead, has been produced jointly by Vijender Reddy Teegal and Rajani Talluri. The film team has vigorously promoted it as a significant career booster for Varun. The recently released trailers, teasers, and promotional materials have heightened expectations. Has the film, released on November 14, lived up to expectations? Has it delivered success to Varun, who has been struggling with flops? Let's find out in this review.
Plot
The movie 'Matka' is a gangster story spanning from 1958 to 1982. Based on the life of a gangster named Ratan Khatri who migrated from Pakistan to Mumbai, this film unfolds. Regarding the story of 'Matka'... Vasu (Varun Tej) comes from Burma to Visakhapatnam in search of livelihood. He works as a laborer and faces numerous hardships. Vasu has a goal to achieve something significant in life. In this pursuit, he steps into the world of Matka gambling, which unexpectedly turns his career around. Excelling in Matka, he rises to a level that no one else can reach. He ascends to the level of controlling the system as a gangster. How did an ordinary young man become Matka Vasu? What challenges did he face in this journey? Who is Sujata? What is her love story with Vasu? You'll need to watch the movie to find out.
Performance
It can be said that Varun Tej (Matka Movie Review) has excelled as Vasu. With 'Matka,' he has stepped up his acting game. He has meticulously crafted his look, hairstyle, and walk to do justice to his role. He impressed with variations in his character appropriate to his age. Meenakshi Chaudhary got a significant role, and her chemistry with Varun worked well. Bollywood beauty Nora Fatehi, in the role of Sophia, created magic. With her charm, she captivated the audience. Saloni from 'Maryada Ramanna' fame, along with Naveen Chandra and Satyam Rajesh, appeared in key roles. The rest of the cast performed well within their scope.
Direction
Based on the life story of gangster Ratan Khatri (Matka Movie Review), director Karan Kumar crafted this film. He captivated with his excellent direction set in the 1970s and 1980s. The director succeeded in presenting his envisioned story accurately. Particularly, choosing Varun Tej for Vasu's role and extracting an outstanding performance from him is a complete success for the director. He excellently presented how an ordinary young man, Vasu, became a significant figure by exploiting Matka gambling to control the country. However, the director faltered a bit with the screenplay. Occasional drag in scenes and a lack of strong background for characters other than Varun are negatives.
Technically...
On the technical front (Matka Movie Review), the cinematography was a significant plus. Cinematographer Kishore Kumar took the audience back to the 1970s with his expertise. The art department also worked hard to deliver an authentic periodic experience. Music director G. V. Prakash's songs were not particularly memorable, but the background music was good, enhancing the action sequences. The editing was okay, and the production values were high.
Plus Points
- Varun Tej's acting
- Action sequences
- Cinematography
Minus Points
- Screenplay
- Dragging scenes
- Songs
