Aham Reboot OTT Review: Sumanth's Solo Act—Did the Experiment Work?
Cast: Sumanth
Writer and Director: Prashanth Sagar Atluri
Music: Sriram Madduri
Cinematography: Varun Ankarla
Editing: Murali Krishna Manyam
Visual Effects: Shashwat Kaurav
Producers: Raghuveer, Srujan
OTT Platform: Aha
The film 'Aham Reboot,' directed by Prashanth Sagar Atluri and starring Sumanth , was initially completed some time ago and was intended for a theatrical release. However, due to certain reasons, it was quietly released on the OTT platform Aha on June 30. This psychological thriller has made its way to streaming. Did it manage to impress OTT viewers? Did it provide another success for Sumanth? Let’s find out in this review.
What’s the Story?
Nilay (Sumanth), who dreamt of being a football player, turns into a radio jockey following an accident. One day while in the studio, he receives a call from a girl claiming she has been kidnapped. Initially dismissing it as a prank, Nilay is eventually convinced by her words and decides to go live. The police, listening to the radio, start believing that the girl has indeed been kidnapped and begin efforts to save her. They assign the task of gathering information about the kidnapped girl to Nilay, who is in the studio. Who is this girl? Was she really kidnapped? How do the police save her? Who is the girl Nilay lost in an accident? Is there any connection between her and the kidnapped girl? You'll have to watch the movie to find out.
How Did They Perform?
In the movie 'Aham Reboot,' Sumanth is a one-man show. He is the only character visible throughout the movie; all other characters are just heard. Sumanth captivates with his performance, embodying a modern young man carrying an unspoken sorrow and striving to save a girl's life as a radio jockey. He effectively conveys emotions and carries the story on his shoulders. Visually, Sumanth presents a new look in this movie.
How’s the Direction?
Directing a movie with just one character is akin to walking a tightrope, especially when the entire story unfolds in a single location. In this challenging endeavor, director Prashanth Sagar Atluri has managed to achieve a notable level of success. The narrative begins with a phone call from a girl claiming she has been kidnapped. The director skillfully guides the plot from gathering her details to forwarding them to the police, who then initiate a rescue operation. This approach keeps the narrative tight and engaging. A twist at the end that links Nilay's life to the kidnapped girl adds an intriguing element. However, the film's reliance on only Sumanth's character and dialogue to drive the story might seem monotonous to some viewers. For those with the patience, 'Aham Reboot' offers a compelling thriller experience.
Technically...
On the technical front, the background music is a significant plus for the movie. Sriram Madduri’s BGM elevates the thrilling scenes further. With just one character, the editing needed to be crisp, which worked out well. The production values are commendable.
Plus Points
- Sumanth’s acting
- Innovative storytelling
- Background music
Minus Point
- The entire movie revolves around just one visible character

Janaka Aithe Ganaka Review: Middle-Class Hero Takes On Condom Company – Did He Win?
Cast: Suhas, Sankirthana Vipin, Murali Sharma, Rajendra Prasad, Vennela Kishore, Goparaju Ramana, Acharya Srikant, and othersWriter, Director: Sandeep Reddy BandlaMusic: Vijay BulganinCinematography: Sai SriramProducers: Dil Raju, Hanshitha Reddy, Harshith ReddyRelease Date: October 12, 2024
Young hero Suhas is on a roll, releasing films back-to-back and delivering good hits with unique stories. His latest film 'Janaka Aithe Ganaka' falls in line with this streak. Sankirthana plays the heroine. The film is produced by Dil Raju Productions and directed by Sandeep Bandla. It was released on October 12, 2024, with premieres held two days earlier. So, how is this movie? Has Suhas delivered another hit? Let's find out in this review.
Plot
Prasad (Suhas) is a middle-class man who, due to financial limitations, feels he can't provide "the best" for his children, so he decides not to have kids for the first two years of his marriage. His wife (Sankirthana Vipin) agrees with his decision, and his father (Goparaju Ramana) remains silent on the matter. However, unexpectedly, Prasad's wife becomes pregnant. Convinced that the condom failed, Prasad decides to sue the company. How does the case proceed? What changes occur in Prasad's life? Does he win the case? To find out, you have to watch the movie.
Performance Analysis
Suhas shines once again in his role as a middle-class hero. He convincingly portrays a man who insists on not having children but ends up becoming a father. Sankirthana delivers an excellent performance as Prasad's wife, playing the obedient and supportive homemaker. Rajendra Prasad, Murali Sharma, and Vennela Kishore all do justice to their roles, making for an impressive cast.
Direction
Director Sandeep Reddy Bandla scored full marks for the storyline. He presents a fresh take, distinct from routine films. He paints a vivid picture of the life of a middle-class man, his struggles after marriage, and all the expenses involved. The scenes related to pregnancy are touching and connect well with couples who might have avoided having children. The court scenes are humorously portrayed, adding light-hearted moments to the narrative. While some court scenes and the logic around child expenses lack coherence, the humor compensates for these gaps. However, the predictable storyline and lack of significant twists are the negatives.
Technical Aspects
In terms of technical aspects, the cinematography is well done. The background score is a major plus for the film, although the songs aren't particularly memorable. Editing is just okay, while the production values are top-notch, with no compromises from the producers.

Gorre Puranam Review: A Quirky Tale Where the Goat Steals the Show!
Cast: Suhas, Vishika Kot, Posani Krishna Murali, Raghu Karumanchi, and others
Director: Bobby Varma
Music: Pavan CH
Cinematographer: Suresh Sarangam
Editor: Vamsi Krishna Ravi
Producer: Prashanth Mandava
Release Date: 21-09-2024
Tollywood's young actor Suhas has become synonymous with diverse films. Continuing his trend of intriguing Telugu audiences with unique storylines, Suhas stars in another innovative film, 'Gorre Puranam' directed by Bobby Varma. Notably, director Tharun Bhascker provides the voiceover for the goat. Released on September 21, how does this film fare? Did it captivate the audience or not? Let's find out in this review.
What's the Story?
Ravi (Suhas) ends up in jail for committing a murder. Meanwhile, a Muslim man buys a goat to make biryani for his family, but it escapes. In an attempt to catch the goat, the Muslim man and several others chase after it. The goat takes refuge in a village temple where it accidentally gets drunk and is captured by Hindus who want to sacrifice it. This incident catches the media's eye, escalating religious tensions, leading to the police arresting the goat. It is kept in the same cell as Ravi. Why did Ravi commit murder? What is the connection between Ravi’s crime and the goat? Who tried to kill the goat in jail? To find out, one must watch the movie.
How Did They Perform?
Suhas's role is brief in the film, but he captivates with his natural acting prowess. The goat appears on screen longer than the human actors, with Tharun Bhascker’s voiceover adding a comedic touch. Comedian Getup Sreenu also provides a voice for the goat. Other actors like comedian Raghu and Jenny, though in brief roles, significantly impact the story.
How's the Direction?
Director Bobby Varma’s effort to cast a goat as a principal character is commendable. He cleverly narrates where the goat’s story began, what it desires, and its purpose, while infusing the film with sharp satire targeting people, politicians, and the media. While entertaining, the director also makes the audience think. The development of Suhas’s character is well executed. However, the director falters in connecting why he committed murder and planned further killings. The lack of commercial elements and ineffective emotional scenes are drawbacks of the film.
Technically Speaking
Technically, the cinematography is a significant plus. The background score suits the film well, and the editing is adequate. The production values are high, showing no compromise in spending.
Plus Points
- Suhas’s acting
- Story and narration
- Dialogues
Minus Points
- Lack of commercial elements
- Ineffective emotional scenes

Ramnagar Bunny Review: Chandrahass Delivers Attitude, But Does It Hit the Mark?
Cast: Chandrahass, Vismaya Sri, Richa Joshi, Ambika Vani, Ritu Mantra, Muralidhar Goud, and others.
Written and Directed by: Srinivas Mehta
Music by: Ashwin Hemant
Cinematography: Askar Ali
Editor: Marthand K. Venkatesh
Producers: Prabhakar, Malayaja Prabhakar
Release Date: 04-10-2024
Chandrahass, son of small-screen megastar Prabhakar, has become highly popular on social media as the Attitude Star. His latest film 'Ramnagar Bunny' has been much discussed on social media recently. Chandrahass's comments about refunding ticket money if the movie doesn't appeal went viral. Now, the film has hit the screens. So, how is it? Did the Attitude Star deliver a hit? Did he captivate as a hero? Let’s find out in this review.
Plot
Bunny (Chandrahass) from Ramnagar has a weakness for girls. He falls in love with every girl he sees, sequentially engaging in love tracks with three of them (Vismaya Sri, Richa Joshi, Ambika Vani). Facing unexpected circumstances, he even promises to marry an auntie and joins her company. However, Bunny realizes he doesn’t actually like the auntie. He discovers he truly loves Shailu (Vismaya Sri), but by then, her engagement with someone else is already fixed. What does Bunny do next? How does he win Shailu’s love? For that, you must head to the theaters.
Performances
Actor Chandrahass has brought the same attitude to the screen that made him popular, proving to be the film’s strength. Despite this being his first film, his acting is captivating. He performed confidently, excelling in dances and fight scenes, and also impressed in romantic scenes. Vismaya Sri as Shailu looked adorable, and the other three women involved with Bunny were adequate. Muralidhar Goud, playing Bunny's father, contributed well with his comedic timing. Other supporting actors were passable.
Direction
Director Srinivas Mehta crafted 'Ramnagar Bunny' in a way that appeals to the youth, seemingly writing the story just for Chandrahass. He combined a simple story with an excellent screenplay to deliver full-on entertainment. He successfully portrayed Chandrahass not as a superhero but as a regular young man wandering the streets, which really worked. The film maintains a light-hearted tone throughout, with comedy scenes, a few emotional scenes, four songs, and two fight sequences, making it a perfect commercial film. However, Chandrahass's inexperience shows in dragged scenes and emotional sequences, which can be seen as a minus.
Technically
On the technical front, three songs were quite good, and the background music was engaging. The cinematography was also well-done. However, drone shots of Hyderabad city and selfie visuals in one song didn't quite work out. The editing was okay, and the production values were good.
Plus Points
- Chandrahass's acting
- Commercial elements
- Music
Minus Points
- Dragged scenes
- Weak emotional scenes

Aho Vikramarka Movie Review: Dev Gill's 'Aho! Vikramarka' Struggles to Impress
Cast: Dev Gill, Chitra Shukla, Tejaswini Pandit, Praveen Tarde, Posani Krishna Murali, Sayaji Shinde, Prabhakar, and others
Director: Peta Trikoti
Screenplay and Dialogue: Prasad Varma
Music: Ravi Basrur
Editor: Tammi Raju
Producers: Dev Gill, Mihir Sudhir, Ashwani Kumar Mishra
Release Date: August 30, 2024
Actor Dev Gill, known for his role as a villain in Magadheera, has gained recognition in several Telugu films. His latest film as a protagonist, 'Aho! Vikramarka, directed by Trikoti, is released on August 30. How did the film turn out? Did hero Dev Gill succeed? Let's find out in this review.
Plot
In Pune, 1200 laborers from a colony disappear without a trace for 25 years, leaving their families in despair, not knowing whether they are alive or dead. During this period, Vikramarka (Dev Gill) is transferred to the Pune police station as an SI. Initially, he colluded with the drug mafia led by Bilal (Posani Krishna Murali). Influenced by his girlfriend Archana (Chitra Shukla), he transforms into an honest police officer. What incident prompted Vikramarka's change? What happened to the missing laborers? Was Vikramarka able to save them? What challenges did he face in this process? This is the story.
Performances
Dev Gill has shown his mark in action scenes. With experience playing villains in various films, he seemed to handle action effortlessly. However, he struggled significantly in love scenes and emotional sequences, failing to express emotions convincingly. Chitra Shukla delivered a solid performance as the heroine, fitting well into her role. Praveen and Tejaswini Pandit, as the villain and ACP Bhavani respectively, were compelling. Posani Krishna Murali and Sayaji Shinde impressed with their seasoned acting. The rest of the cast was satisfactory.
Direction
Directed by Peta Trikoti, the film reminds one of Telugu hits like 'Temper' and 'Pataas.' However, the plot lacks novelty, and the narration isn't engaging. The director failed to extract compelling performances corresponding to the story's demands. The love track between the hero and heroine feels quite tedious, and Dev Gill's romantic looks recall his villain roles. Nonetheless, Trikoti made an effort to showcase his style in the fight scenes, which are somewhat interesting when the hero confronts the villains.
Technically...
The art department performed well. Ravi Basrur's music was underwhelming, though the background score was passable in places. The production values were high, with no compromise on the budget.
Plus Points
Action sequences

Simbaa Movie Review: Supernatural Thrills Meet Crime Drama in 'Simbaa'
Cast: Jagapathi Babu, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Vashistha N. Simha, Divi Vadthya, Kabir Duhan Singh, Sreenath Maganti
Director: Murali Manohar
Music: Krishna Saurabh
Producers: Sampath Nandi, D. Rajendra Reddy
Release Date: 09-08-2024
The film 'Simbaa,' directed by Murali Manohar and featuring Jagapathi Babu and Anasuya Bharadwaj in key roles, falls under the supernatural crime thriller genre. This cinema has been co-produced by prominent directors Sampath Nandi and Dasari Rajendra Reddy and was released to audiences on August 9. Let's evaluate the film's impact and its reception among the viewers in this review.
Plot
In Hyderabad, a key figure from the Partha Group is murdered. During the investigation of this case, another individual from the same group is also killed. The police conclude that a school teacher, Akshika (Anasuya), and an investigative journalist, Fazil (Sreenath Maganti), are involved. They are arrested, but amidst their custody, another murder occurs in full view of everyone. A prominent doctor's involvement complicates the case further. What is the motive behind these murders? Why are individuals associated with Partha (Kabir Singh) being targeted? What is the connection of the Forest Man, Purushottam Reddy (Jagapathi Babu), to these murders? What conflicts exist between him and Partha? The film must be watched to uncover these answers.
Performances
Jagapathi Babu, in the role of Purushottam Reddy, captures the audience with his commanding presence and excels in action sequences. Anasuya delivers a compelling performance as teacher Akshika, embodying her character flawlessly. Divi, Sreenath Maganti, and Vashistha Simha also engage well in their roles, with Vashistha Simha's portrayal as the investigative officer being particularly notable. Senior actors Gautami and Kasturi add charm in secondary roles. Kabir, portraying the antagonist, was adequate. The rest of the cast performed well within their roles.
Direction
Director Murali Manohar has attempted to blend environmental themes into a crime and investigative story. The introduction of Anasuya’s character, the love track between Divi and Sreenath Maganti, and the dual murder events are well-handled in the first half. However, the police investigation scenes feel routine and lack logical progression. In the second half, Jagapathi Babu’s entrance as the Forest Man, emphasizing tree conservation and love for nature, brings thought-provoking scenes. Nonetheless, the lack of impactful dialogue means the director’s message doesn’t resonate strongly with the audience. The concept of 'biological memory' is intriguing in the film. A better presentation of the Forest Man episode could have enhanced the impact. Overall, although the movie's concept is interesting, the director fails to effectively convey it to the audience.
Technically
On the technical front, Krishna Saurabh’s background music is a highlight, elevating several scenes effectively. Krishnaprasad’s cinematography is commendable, and the editing is adequate. The production values are high.
Plus Points
- Performances by Jagapathi Babu and Anasuya
- The environmental message
- The secondary meanings
Minus Points
- Lack of engaging narrative
- Dragged scenes

What are these visuals he sees? Why does a mere recovery agent end up fighting with enemy nations? What deed did Chandu perform with the grace of Lord Shiva? What role does Dogra (a dog) play in the story? To find out, one must watch the movie.
Performances
Ashwin Babu delivers a remarkable performance in the role of Chandu, showcasing great versatility across two dimensions. Digangana Suryavanshi captivates the audience as Shailaja. The chemistry between Ashwin and Digangana is effectively established. Bollywood actor Arbaaz Khan impresses in his role as a police officer, and comedian Hyper Aadi elicits laughter with his impeccable timing. Seasoned actors Brahmanandam and Murali Sharma mesmerize with their performances, while other actors adequately fulfill their roles.
Direction
Director Abdul Apsar Hussain commendable intertwines mystery and devotional elements. Some suspense scenes in this crime drama are quite engaging. The storyline woven around international espionage also pleases, though the screenplay falters at times. The narrative could have been presented more effectively on screen. The subplot involving murders seems rather weak. Chandu's character could have been made more powerful. Some scenes lack logical coherence. The slow pace of the story and a lack of engaging elements in the first half are drawbacks. Unrelated scenes test the audience's patience.

Written and Directed by: Aswin Ram
Music by: Vivek Sagar
Cinematography: Naresh Ramadurai
Dialogues by: Hemanth
Producers: K. Niranjan Reddy, Chaitanya Reddy
Release Date: July 19, 2024
The unique romantic comedy entertainer 'Darling' starring Priyadarshi and Nabha Natesh, and directed by Aswin Ram, has already captivated audiences with its promotional material. Produced under the banner of PrimeShow Entertainment by K. Niranjan Reddy and Mrs. Chaitanya Reddy, the film released worldwide on July 19th..
Plot
Since childhood, Raghav (Priyadarsi) has dreamed of marriage and a honeymoon. Working as an agent in a travel agency, he finally seems poised to realize this dream when he becomes engaged to Nandini (Ananya Nagalla), a psychologist chosen by his father (Muralidhar Goud). However, his plans unravel when Nandini leaves him at the altar for another man. Heartbroken and on the brink of despair, Raghav's life takes an unexpected turn when he meets Anandi (Nabha Natesh). The two quickly fall in love and marry, but on their wedding night, Raghav discovers that Anandi has multiple personality disorder, hosting five distinct personalities: Aadi, Maya, Jhansi, Papa, and Srisri. The unfolding challenges Raghav faces with Anandi’s complex condition promise a story filled with intrigue and emotion. To uncover the full story, one must head to the theaters.
Performance
Priyadarsi, once again, charms as Raghav, fitting perfectly into his role with his distinctive comedic timing, delighting the audience. Nabha Natesh excels in a challenging role with various facets, carrying the film on her shoulders with a career-best performance. She brilliantly displays the variations of her split personalities. The funny scenes between Nabha Natesh and Priyadarsi are engaging, though the dubbing for Nabha Natesh's role could have been better. Supporting actors like Ananya Nagalla and Muralidhar Goud play their parts within limits. Guest appearances by Suhas, Brahmanandam, and Niharika Konidela also shine.
Direction
Director Aswin Ram attempts to present the complex concept of multiple personality disorder in a humorous light. The first half is swiftly paced with sequences of wedding preparations, a halted marriage, a suicide attempt, and the quick marriage to Anandi all unfolding in an entertaining manner. While the first half thrills and amuses the audience, the story seems to dull down in the second half. The backstory of the heroine and the repetitive narrative might bore the audience. The climax is particularly confusing. Despite the innovation, director Aswin Ram struggles to keep the film engaging throughout.
Technically
On the technical front, the cinematography is a major plus for the film, providing fresh visuals. Vivek Sagar’s music, however, does not make a significant impact. The editing could have been tighter. The production values are high, with no compromises on the budget.
Plus Points
- Performances by Priyadarsi and Nabha Natesh

After a decade into politics, Powerstar Pawan Kalyan achieved a significant victory in the 2024 Assembly elections. However, in the previous elections, representing the Jana Sena Party, he lost both constituencies he contested. The only MLA he managed to win later joined the ruling YSRCP government. This prompted fierce criticism from YSRCP leaders targeting Pawan. He also faced severe criticism from the Telugu film industry, especially from director Ram Gopal Varma and actor Posani Krishna Murali, who heavily targeted him. RGV even made a film trolling Pawan. With the coalition government (TDP-Jana Sena-BJP) in power in Andhra Pradesh and Pawan as the Deputy Chief Minister, it looks like some action may be taken on RGV and Posani, who were vocal critics.
Serial Cases Against RGV
On today's date (November 11), a case was filed against film director Ram Gopal Varma at Maddipadu Police Station in Prakasam District under the IT Act. He posted material during the promotion of the movie 'Vyuhm' that allegedly denigrated Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Nara Lokesh, Nara Brahmani, and Pawan Kalyan. The Telugu Desam Party's main secretary from Maddipadu Mandal lodged the complaint. Police registered the case and are conducting an investigation. Similarly, a case was also filed against RGV at Talluru Police Station in Guntur District for making indecent posts about Chandrababu, Pawan Kalyan, and Nara Lokesh. The vice president of the TDP's Farmers Division, Nutalapati Ramarao, filed a complaint today urging action against Varma. Consequently, Tuluru police also registered a case against RGV, who may soon be investigated.
Imminent Arrest of Posani!
Actor Posani Krishna Murali, known for his successful multiple roles in films, joined YSRCP after its establishment and campaigned for Jagan during the 2019 elections. After Jagan became Chief Minister, Posani was even more vocal than YSRCP leaders in targeting Pawan and Chandrababu. He faced accusations of character assassination in several press meets. Posani previously lashed out calling Pawan a mental case and alleging that the Mega family only formed parties for financial gains. He fiercely criticized them, leading to multiple lawsuits filed by Jana Sena supporters and women's groups, which were ignored while YSRCP was in power. Now, with the coalition government in office and revisiting old cases against those who insulted TDP and Jana Sena leaders, there's talk in AP political circles that Posani might be arrested any moment.
Preparations for Sri Reddy's Arrest!
Actress Sri Reddy, known for her support of YSRCP, had previously criticized TDP and Jana Sena leaders in her unique style during the last government's tenure. There were instances when she even insulted Pawan Kalyan's mother. With AP police now focusing on those who have engaged in character assassination on social media, Sri Reddy is also likely to be taken into custody soon. Various cases registered against her in different regions are being reviewed by the police. Recently, the actress released a video apologizing and requesting forgiveness from Chandrababu, Pawan Kalyan, and Home Minister Anita, pledging not to post any offensive content about them or their family members anymore. The video has become quite trending lately.
Will Actions Be Taken Against Prakash Raj?
Recently, a controversy erupted between Pawan Kalyan and Prakash Raj over comments related to Tirumala laddus and Sanatan Dharma. While Pawan spoke about Sanatan Dharma, Prakash Raj posed several questions on the same platform without directly naming him, using the hashtag #JustAsking. Pawan largely ignored these comments. However, Jana Sena workers and Pawan's fans are highly agitated over Prakash Raj's unrelated criticisms and are demanding action against him on social media. Currently, the AP police are revisiting old cases, and since no cases have been registered against Prakash Raj in any station, it's speculated that he might not face immediate actions.

ARM Movie Review: A Gripping Performance but a Predictable Plot.
Cast: Tovino Thomas, Krithi Shetty, Aishwarya Rajesh, Surabhi Lakshmi, Basil Joseph, Jagadish, Kabir Duhan Singh, and others
Director: Jithin Lal
Writer: Sujith Nambiar
Music: Thibu Ninan Thomas
Cinematography: Jomon T. John
Editing: Shameer Muhammad
Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas has also gained recognition in Telugu cinema. His lead roles in ‘Minnal Murali’ and ‘2018’ have been successful in Telugu as well. His latest film 'ARM' has now been released, featuring Tovino Thomas and Krithi Shetty in lead roles. In Malayalam, the film is titled ‘Ajayante Random Motionam’ (ARM), which translates in Telugu to ‘Ajayan’s Second Theft.’ How did the pan-India release 'ARM' fare? Did it enchant the Telugu audience? Has Tovino Thomas scored another hit? Let’s find out in this review.
Plot
Ajay (Tovino Thomas) lives a simple life in his village, doing small jobs and living with his mother (Rohini). His grandfather Maniyan (Tovino Thomas) was once a notorious thief, which leads villagers to suspect Ajay whenever a theft occurs. Meanwhile, the Sreebhuthi Lamp (an idol) in the village temple, more valuable than gold, attracts the attention of Sudeva Varma (Harish Uthaman), who plans to steal it and frame Ajay for the theft. However, Ajay’s family has been protecting this lamp for generations. How does Ajay save it this time? What is the history behind the idol? What role does the legendary hero Kunjikelu (Tovino Thomas) play in this history? What about Ajay’s love track with Lakshmi (Krithi Shetty)? You have to watch the movie to find out.
Performances
Tovino Thomas impressively portrays three different roles. His portrayal as the heroic Kunjikelu, with significant battle scenes, is captivating. His performance as grandfather Maniyan is also commendable, showing great versatility across his roles, from heroic to serene in Ajay’s character. Each character variation highlights his depth in acting. Krithi Shetty delivers a fine performance as Lakshmi, embodying a 90s girl perfectly. Surabhi Lakshmi’s role is engaging, appearing in a dual capacity that adds to the narrative. Rohini and Harish Uthaman’s characters are pivotal to the storyline.
Direction
Despite being his debut, director Jithin Lal’s execution of a story intertwined across three generations is clear and engaging. The entry of the legendary Kunjikelu accelerates the pace of the film with his heroics and the boon he asks from the king after saving the kingdom, followed by revelations that add intrigue. The portrayal of Maniyan’s character by the director stands out, particularly how he discovers where the lamp is and plans its theft. The confrontational scenes when Maniyan and Ajayan’s paths cross are emotionally powerful. However, other characters lack impact, a weak love track, predictable plot points, and a feeble climax detract from the film.
Technically
Technically, the film is high-quality. Thibu’s background score and songs add a fresh flair to the film. Jomon T. John’s cinematography is captivating. The editing is adequate, and the production values are high.
Plus Points
- Tovino Thomas’s acting
- Historical backdrop
- Music
Minus Points
- Predictable storyline
- Weak climax

Natural Star Nani stars in the latest film 'Saripodhaa Sanivaaram' directed by Vivek Athreya. Priyanka Arul Mohan plays the heroine, and prominent Tamil actor S.J. Suryah portrays the antagonist. Director Vivek Athreya, known for engaging audiences with class films like 'Mental Madhilo,' 'Brochevarevarura,' and 'Ante Sundaraniki,' has now ventured into the mass genre. Deviating from his usual style, he presents a powerful action drama in 'Saripodhaa Sanivaaram.' The recently released trailer has significantly heightened expectations. The film had a grand worldwide release on August 29. How did it fare? Did Nani's performance impress? Let's find out in this review.
What's the Story?
Surya (Nani) works as an LIC agent. He cannot tolerate injustice happening before his eyes and chooses Saturdays to showcase his rage. Meanwhile, the residents of Sokulapalem suffer from various hardships. Police officer Daya (S.J. Suryah) oppresses them, using his authority to perpetrate acts of brutality. Amidst dramatic developments, the hero decides to stand up for the people of Sokulapalem. How does Surya confront the cruel police officer? What challenges does he face in the process? Why does the hero specifically choose Saturday to unleash his fury? What's the love track with heroine Priyanka Mohan? Who wins in the face-off between hero and villain? That forms the story.
How Did They Perform?
Hero Nani excelled in the role of Surya. He showcased his versatility in the action sequences. Nani's acting in this film is distinct from his previous movies. He also made his mark in emotional scenes. S.J. Suryah as the antagonist was compelling, dominating some scenes over Nani. Both their performances are definitely the highlights of the film. Priyanka Arul Mohan played a settled role as a lady constable, impressing in a character-driven role. The unique love track between Nani and Priyanka will appeal to the audience. Saikumar, Ajay, Murali Sharma, and other actors justified their roles well.
How's the Direction?
Director Vivek Athreya, recognized for his classical approach in previous films, introduces his mass flair in this movie. Despite using a routine story, his unique making style has won applause. The director devoted much of the first half to introducing characters. Nani's childhood, the concept of Saturday, the introduction to the heroine, and an engaging interval block kept the first half interesting. The second half was filled with Tom and Jerry-like scenes and action sequences between Nani and S.J. Suryah. However, the lengthy duration negatively impacted the film. Some scenes felt too stretched, and the predictability of the storyline also turned out to be a drawback.
Technically Speaking
On the technical front, Jakes Bejoy's music was captivating, with appealing songs and a background score that added strength to the film, especially enhancing the action sequences. The cinematography also stood out. The editor could have been a bit sharper with the cuts. Production values were high.
Plus Points
- Nani and S.J. Suryah's performances
- Action sequences
- Introduction, interval, and climax episodes
Minus Points
- Lengthy duration
- Lack of twists

Purushothamudu Review: Raj Tarun's Journey from Billionaire to Common Man"
Cast: Raj Tarun, Hasini, Ramya Krishnan, Prakash Raj, and others.
Written and Directed by: Ram Bhimana
Music: Gopi Sundar
Cinematography: PG Vinda
Editing: Marthand K. Venkatesh
Producers: Dr. Ramesh Tejavath, Prakash Tejavath
Amidst personal and professional struggles, young hero Raj Tarun's latest film 'Purushothamudu' has arrived in theaters. Directed by Ram Bhimana and starring actress Hasini as the female lead, this film tests Raj Tarun's ability to rebound. Let’s see if it has succeeded in giving him a hit in this review.
What's the story?
Rachit Ram (Raj Tarun) was born a billionaire, the sole heir of Aditya Ram (Murali Sharma), who heads PR Groups. After completing his education abroad, Aditya decides to entrust his son with the CEO responsibilities. However, Rachit's aunt Vasundhara (Ramya Krishnan) objects to this. According to company rules, a candidate for CEO must live incognito as a common man for 100 days. Rachit agrees to this and steps outside his comfort zone. He travels to a remote village in Andhra Pradesh named Rayapulanka. What twists did Rachit’s life take there? What adventures did he undertake to save the village farmers? And what is his love story with Ammu? That forms the rest of the story.
Performances
Raj Tarun delivers a commendable performance in dual dimensions as Rachit Ram, convincingly playing both a billionaire and an unidentifiable common man. Hasini Sudheer, as the village girl Ammu, shines beautifully on screen, and the love scenes between Raj Tarun and Ammu are pleasing. Praveen provides comic relief in the friend’s role, while other comedians like Satya and Brahmanandam shine throughout the film.
Direction
We've seen many films where a wealthy young man lives as a common man for various reasons. Director Ram Bhimana has crafted 'Purushothamudu' in a similar vein. The real story begins when the wealthy hero reaches the village of Rayapulanka. The introductions and romantic scenes with the heroine are engaging. The first half is entertaining with village backdrop comedy, and the hero's stance against injustices in the village makes for an appealing interval bang. However, the narrative seems to lose track in the second half, meandering predictably and boringly without any significant twists. The climax, although predictable, is somewhat saved by Prakash Raj's entry and his impactful dialogues. Director Ram Bhimana fails to bring any novelty to the story or narration.
Technically
Musically, Gopi Sundar’s contributions are just passable, with none of the songs being particularly memorable. The background score is decent. PG Vinda’s cinematography is impressive, capturing the essence of village life beautifully. The editing is adequate, and the production values are suitably high for the film.
Plus Points
- Raj Tarun’s acting
- Some scenes in the first half
- Chemistry between the hero and heroine
Minus Points
- Routine story
- Predictable narrative
- Lack of twists

Prashanth Neel's New Pan-India Film 'Bagheera' Trailer Drops: Fans Spot Strong 'KGF' Vibes!
From the Kannada film industry, 'KGF' and 'KGF 2' have created a sensation nationwide. Before 'KGF', Prashanth Neel, an unknown Kannada director, became a pan-India star with these two films. Recently, he directed 'Salaar' with Prabhas, creating another box office tsunami. Prashanth Neel is known for his meticulous attention to storytelling. In this sequence, he provided a story for a pan-India film titled 'Bagheera', whose trailer was released today and is captivating the audience. The trailer contains many elements reminiscent of 'KGF'.
In black and white frames...
The combination of director Prashanth Neel and production house Hombale Films, known from 'KGF', has gained recognition on a pan-India scale. Expectations for any project from this combination are sky-high. Under this combination, Hombale Films has produced a pan-India film, 'Bagheera', directed by Suri, with Sri Murali from Prashanth Neel's first film 'Ugramm' playing the lead role. The recently released trailer of this film is exceptionally captivating, showing Sri Murali in two different getups. The trailer, styled by Prashanth Neel, includes black and white visuals along with action sequences.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O38mUkgL-w8
KGF-style dialogues!
A Prashanth Neel film is known not only for its action but also for its compelling dialogues. The dialogues from 'KGF' received a great response. Similar dialogues can be seen in the 'Bagheera' trailer. It starts with a boy asking his mother, "Why does God always talk about Ramayana and Mahabharata, and why doesn't he ever come?" To which the mother explains the circumstances under which God appears, saying, "He comes when a man becomes a beast." This dialogue is followed by scenes featuring brutal villains. The hero, a police officer, is shown putting aside his uniform and ruthlessly eliminating criminals as a masked vigilante. The trailer shows Sri Murali’s acting prowess in dual roles, one as a police officer and the other as a weapon against demons. Actor Prakash Raj is also seen in the trailer as a high-ranking police official.
Mother's sentiment!
In 'KGF', the hero's mother dies during his childhood, and the promise he made to her turns him into a criminal. Observing the 'Bagheera' trailer suggests a similar story, indicating the presence of a mother's sentiment. A boy, whose mother dies when he is young, grows up to become a police officer to fight injustices. Believing that justice isn’t served legally, he turns into a masked man and brutally kills criminals. However, the hero's mother might have faced troubles from criminals, and with the intention that no one else should suffer as she did, he wears the uniform. Netizens believe that the combination of black and white frames and action sequences gives a feeling reminiscent of 'KGF'. The film is set to release in front of audiences on October 31.
Busy with 'NTR 31'
After the blockbuster 'Salaar', Prashanth Neel is set to work with Jr NTR on his next project, tentatively titled 'NTR 31'. This film is rumored to be set against a backdrop in Bangladesh, with Tarak playing a Bangladeshi farmer. This project is likely to start rolling soon. While known for directing sequels, it is reported that Prashanth Neel intends to make 'NTR 31' as a single part. After this movie, there's a possibility that Prashanth Neel will direct 'Salaar 2' with Prabhas. Recently, there were also reports about finalizing a project with Ram Charan.

Devara Movie Review: : Jr. NTR’s Stellar Acting Overshadowed by an Uneven Narrative
Cast: NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Shruti Marathe, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, and others.
Written and Directed by: Koratala Siva
Music by: Anirudh Ravichander
Cinematography by: R. Rathnavelu
Editing by: A. Sreekar Prasad
Produced by: Sudhakar Mikkilineni, Kosaraju Harikrishna, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram
Release Date: September 27, 2024
NTR stars in an action drama 'Devara', directed by Koratala Siva, with Janhvi Kapoor as the heroine. NTR returns to dual roles after many years, portraying the characters of Devara and Vara. The promotional materials already released have heightened expectations. Saif Ali Khan plays the antagonist, with significant roles being filled by Prakash Raj, Srikanth, and Shine Tom Chacko. The movie has completed all its schedules and released worldwide on September 27. But how is the film? Does it meet the expectations? Has it impressed the audience or not? Let's find out in this review.
The Story
Located on a hill at the border between Andhra and Tamil Nadu are four villages collectively known as the Red Sea. Here, Devara (NTR) along with Bhairava (Saif Ali Khan), Rayappa (Srikanth), and Kunjara (Shine Tom Chacko) serve as the heads of each village. Their job involves smuggling goods through the sea to Murugan (Murali Sharma) without getting caught by authorities. However, realizing the damage caused, Devara decides to put an end to their smuggling activities. Bhairava disagrees, sparking a conflict between them. Devara instills deep fear in everyone. Bhairava then plans to kill Devara. Does his plan succeed? What pivotal decision does Devara make to stop the smuggling? Why does his son Vara (NTR) become fearful? Who kills Bhairava's men trying to enter the sea? How does Vara's romance with Thangam (Janhvi Kapoor) develop? What is Devara’s connection with gangster Yathi? Watch the movie to know.
Performances
There's no need to specifically mention Tarak's acting; he immerses himself in any role he takes. In this movie, too, he impresses as both Devara and Vara, bringing variations that captivate the audience. He reaffirms his prowess in action scenes and dazzles in dance sequences. Janhvi Kapoor, making her Tollywood debut, fits perfectly as the village girl Thangam, appearing authentic as a Telugu girl, though her screen time is brief. Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan captivates as the villain, making a strong impact in a role that competes with Tarak's. Srikanth, Prakash Raj, Ajay, Murali Sharma, Shruti, and others play significant roles, with other actors performing well within their limits.
Direction
Director Koratala Siva creates a new world named 'Red Sea' and attempts to weave drama and emotions in his unique style. The first half unfolds the story of the Red Sea, the characters Devara and Bhaira, their transformation into smugglers, their conflicts, songs, and the terror Devara instills, all showcased effectively by Koratala. The interval bang is also excellently planned. While the first half revolves around Devara, the second half introduces Vara. The entry of the second NTR is well-executed, but the story seems stretched afterwards. Janhvi Kapoor’s scenes feel forced, except for a song, and the rest seem tedious. The pre-climax action scenes inside the sea are spectacular, but the climax, while engaging, reminds one of the movie Baahubali. Koratala sets up for a part two, ending Devara's story. However, the second part lacks the impact of the first, with a weak love track, dragged scenes, predictable narrative, and missing the typical Koratala mark being the downsides.
Technically
On the technical front, all departments have performed well. Anirudh's background music is another major strength of the movie, enhancing the film with his distinctive BGM. The songs are good, with 'Chuttammalle' likely to generate whistles in theatres. Rathnavelu's cinematography is excellent, richly presenting each scene. Editing is decent. The production values are high, sparing no expense.
Plus Points
- NTR's performance
- First half
- Cinematography
- Music
Minus Points
- Second part
- Weak love track
