NTR's 'Devara' Sets New Records Even Before Release: First Indian Film to Achieve This Feat

The entire nation is eagerly waiting for the film, directed by Koratala Siva and starring Young Tiger NTR. It is set for a grand worldwide release on September 27. The movie features Janhvi Kapoor alongside Tarak, and Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan as the antagonist. With NTR playing a dual role, expectations are sky-high. Even before its release, Devara is breaking records and has now achieved another milestone. It has become the first Indian film to accomplish this feat. Unique Achievement in Two Countries Currently, ‘Devara’ is trending on social media. Having already broken several records, this action drama has now set another milestone. It has created a new record in Australia and New Zealand. ‘Devara’ has become the first Indian film to be showcased with the highest number of Dolby Atmos shows in these two countries. The film will be released on 13 screens in Australia and 3 screens in New Zealand. Recently, Devara also set a record in North America’s pre-sale tickets, becoming the fastest Indian film to hit the 1 million dollar mark in pre-sales. Baahubali-Level Climax NTR recently stated that the last 40 minutes of ‘Devara’ would be the highlight of the movie, raising expectations. The film’s cinematographer, Ratnavelu, made an interesting comment about the movie’s climax, comparing it to Baahubali. He mentioned that it would be an unforgettable experience. Nagavamsi’s Request to Fans Producer Nagavamsi, one of the distributors of ‘Devara,’ made a request to the fans on social media platform X. He urged fans to put an end to the fan wars with this movie. He also requested those who watch the first screening not to record any scenes and post them on social media, allowing others to enjoy the film as well. The film, with a runtime of 170.58 minutes (2 hours 50 minutes), is set to be released on September 27. Excluding the safe travel messages and smoking warnings, the movie’s length will be 2 hours and 42 minutes. The Censor Board had previously issued a U/A certificate, with the runtime being 2 hours 57 minutes and 58 seconds. It seems some non-essential scenes have been removed. Ticket Price Hike Both Telugu states have approved a hike in ticket prices for ‘Devara,’ directed by Koratala Siva and starring Tarak. Single-screen ticket prices can be increased by ₹25, and multiplex ticket prices can be raised by ₹50. Additionally, on September 27, benefit shows are allowed in 29 theaters at midnight 1 AM, and special shows at 4 AM in all theaters across the state. An extra ₹100 can be added to ticket prices for all shows on the first day. The AP government has permitted a ticket price hike ranging from ₹60 to ₹135. The film can be screened six times on the first day and five times daily until October 9. Pre-Release Business of Devara ‘Devara’ has done impressive pre-release business under the direction of Koratala Siva with NTR as the lead. According to trade circles, the theatrical rights of this film were sold for a whopping ₹185 crores. It is reported that the theatrical rights in the two Telugu states were sold for ₹115 crores. The movie fetched ₹45 crores in the Nizam area, and around ₹22 crores in Ceded. In Karnataka, it did a business of ₹15 crores, ₹6 crores in Tamil Nadu, and ₹50 lakhs in Kerala pre-release. The film sold for ₹26 crores in the US and ₹15 crores in the Hindi belt. Overall, the pre-release business across all areas totals ₹185 crores. For the movie to break even, it needs to collect a share of ₹200 crores.
