However, for audiences willing to overlook such inconsistencies, Zebra offers an engaging experience. The intense battle between Satyadev and Dhananjaya, along with Satya’s comedy and impactful dialogues, serve as major highlights.



Technical Aspects



From a technical standpoint, Zebra impresses. Ravi Basrur’s background score is a significant asset, especially elevating the action sequences. However, the songs fail to leave a lasting impression. Sathya Ponmar’s cinematography captures the narrative’s essence beautifully, while the editing is adequate. The art department excels in recreating the bank setting, and the production values are top-notch.

The Performances



Ashok Galla clearly worked hard for his role as Krishna, and his efforts are evident on screen. Compared to his previous film, Ashok has improved in both acting and body language. His performance in key emotional scenes is commendable. Manasa Varanasi impresses as the heroine, and her chemistry with Ashok works well. However, she falters in conveying deeper emotions in certain scenes. Devadatta Nage delivers a solid performance as the antagonist, while Devayani does justice to her role as Kamsaraju’s sister. Jhansi shines as the hero’s mother, while supporting actors like Sanjay Swaroop, Shatru, Sridhar Reddy, and Getup Srinu play their parts adequately.







The Direction



Despite a premise with potential, Prasanth Varma’s story lacks depth. While mythology is woven into the narrative, it feels disjointed and fails to sync with the storyline. Director Arjun Jandyala missed the opportunity to create magic in the screenplay, which falls flat and lacks intrigue. Certain scenes promote superstitions rather than adding value to the narrative. The love track between the lead pair feels underwhelming, and the action sequences between Krishna and Kamsaraju fail to make an impact. Some scenes intended to elevate Krishna’s character come across as overly dramatic. Overall, the direction leaves the audience bored at several points.



Technical Aspects



On the technical front, Bhims Ceciroleo’s music is a major asset. His background score elevates the action sequences significantly. Prasad Murella’s cinematography is impressive, capturing the essence of the scenes well. Editor Thimmaraju’s work is satisfactory. The production values are high, and there’s no compromise in terms of budget, making the film visually appealing.

Meenakshi Chaudhary got a significant role, and her chemistry with Varun worked well. Bollywood beauty Nora Fatehi, in the role of Sophia, created magic. With her charm, she captivated the audience. Saloni from 'Maryada Ramanna' fame, along with Naveen Chandra and Satyam Rajesh, appeared in key roles. The rest of the cast performed well within their scope.







Direction



Based on the life story of gangster Ratan Khatri (Matka Movie Review), director Karan Kumar crafted this film. He captivated with his excellent direction set in the 1970s and 1980s. The director succeeded in presenting his envisioned story accurately. Particularly, choosing Varun Tej for Vasu's role and extracting an outstanding performance from him is a complete success for the director. He excellently presented how an ordinary young man, Vasu, became a significant figure by exploiting Matka gambling to control the country. However, the director faltered a bit with the screenplay. Occasional drag in scenes and a lack of strong background for characters other than Varun are negatives.







Technically...



On the technical front (Matka Movie Review), the cinematography was a significant plus. Cinematographer Kishore Kumar took the audience back to the 1970s with his expertise. The art department also worked hard to deliver an authentic periodic experience. Music director G. V. Prakash's songs were not particularly memorable, but the background music was good, enhancing the action sequences. The editing was okay, and the production values were high.
