Prabhas Goes from Cop to Gangster in 'Spirit' – A Journey Inspired by Gopichand's 'Golimaar'?
Pan-India star Prabhas and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga are currently riding high in their careers. While Prabhas's recent film 'Kalki 2898 AD' was a hit, Sandeep Reddy's 'Animal' shook the Indian box office. Now, their upcoming film 'Spirit' is raising audience expectations to new heights. Amidst this, news related to the movie has gone viral online.
First a Police Officer.. Then!
It has been widely publicized that in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's upcoming 'Spirit', Prabhas will appear as a powerful police officer. However, rumors are circulating that besides this role, Prabhas will also play another key role. According to the latest buzz, after several dramatic twists, the character portrayed by Prabhas transforms from a policeman into a gangster. Moreover, the film is said to contain major wild elements and will feature even more intense violence and fight sequences than 'Animal'. The latest updates have further fueled the high expectations for 'Spirit'.
In the Style of 'Golimaar'..
The 2010 film 'Golimaar', directed by Puri Jagannadh and starring Gopichand, received positive acclaim and was based on the life of encounter specialist Daya Nayak. Gopichand’s portrayal as a hard-working police officer who becomes renowned as an encounter specialist won him considerable recognition. Due to an unexpected turn of events, he transforms into a gangster. Observing the latest buzz around 'Spirit', it seems to remind us of 'Golimaar'. However, given the global standards of visuals and action sequences in 'Spirit', it's best not to compare it directly with 'Golimaar'.
Two Star Heroes...
It is rumored that two star heroes will feature in 'Spirit'. Vijay Deverakonda and Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor are reportedly set to make special cameo appearances. Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who launched Vijay Deverakonda as a hero in his first film 'Arjun Reddy' and recently worked with Ranbir Kapoor in 'Animal', shares a good rapport with both actors. The chances of them turning down an offer from 'Spirit', especially given its international scale and Prabhas as the lead, are slim. Moreover, there is talk of casting a star hero in a villain role in 'Spirit'.
Prabhas as Villain Again?
Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan, who has recently been known for his villainous roles, such as playing Ravana in 'Adipurush' and an antagonist in 'Devara' opposite Tarak, is rumored to appear in a negative role in 'Spirit' as well. Speculations are rife that Saif will confront Prabhas in a powerful antagonistic role. If true, this would significantly elevate expectations for 'Spirit'.
With a Massive Budget...
'Spirit' is being produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series and is rumored to be made on a lavish budget. Speculations suggest that the movie's budget has been set at a staggering ₹1000 crores, initially rumored to be ₹500 crores before being reported to have increased to ₹750 crores. If true, 'Spirit' would mark the biggest-budget film in Prabhas’s career, with ₹600 crores allocated just for remuneration, including ₹300 crores for Prabhas alone, according to film industry sources.

Prabhas Set for His Biggest Film Yet: 'Spirit' to Feature Megastar Chiranjeevi and a Staggering INR 1000 Crore Budget!
Pan-Indian star Prabhas and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga are currently at the peak of their careers. Prabhas' last film, 'Kalki 2898 AD', grossed over INR 1200 crores, making a significant impact at the box office. Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 'Animal' has also shaken up the Indian film industry significantly. Now, the anticipation for their upcoming collaboration on 'Spirit' has been mounting among audiences. Recently, some exciting updates about 'Spirit' have been revealed.
Megastar Chiranjeevi's Special Appearance!
There is strong speculation that Megastar Chiranjeevi might appear in a special role in the movie 'Spirit'. Reports suggest that director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has been in talks with Chiranjeevi, and if he agrees, it would significantly heightened expectations for 'Spirit'. Additionally, there is buzz that Malayalam superstar Mammootty will also play a crucial role in the film, which is said to be pivotal to the storyline. Official announcements from the production team are awaited. The movie is also rumored to feature Bollywood couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor in roles with negative shades, and there are whispers that Korean and Chinese stars might join the cast as well.
When Does Shooting Start?
Pre-production work for 'Spirit' is currently in full swing, and initial plans by Sandeep Reddy Vanga aim to start shooting from November. However, Prabhas is currently busy with other projects like 'Raja Saab' and 'Fauji', which are also under production. With these projects scheduled, the new plan is to start shooting for 'Spirit' in the first week of January next year. By then, 'Raja Saab' would have wrapped up and 'Fauji' would be over 50% complete, freeing up Prabhas for 'Spirit'. Ceremonial activities for the movie are planned for early January, with regular shooting expected to begin after the festival of Sankranti.
The Shocking Budget!
'Spirit', directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Prabhas, is generating massive expectations nationwide. Everyone is eagerly waiting to see when the film will hit the floors as the pre-production is creating a buzz online. The budget for the movie is rumored to have been set at a whopping INR 1000 crores. Initially, the budget was speculated to be around INR 500 crores, later updated to INR 750 crores, and now it stands at INR 1000 crores. If true, this would make 'Spirit' the biggest movie of Prabhas' career in terms of budget.
Record Remuneration for Prabhas!
Out of the total budget for 'Spirit', about INR 600 crores is reportedly allocated for the cast's remuneration, with Prabhas alone commanding INR 300 crores due to his dual role in the film. If confirmed, this payment would make him the highest-paid Indian actor ever. In addition, Bollywood stars like Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and Kareena Kapoor are also rumored to be playing special roles in the film, which justifies such a significant budget allocation for the cast.

Hare Krishna Heritage Tower: A New Spiritual Landmark in Hyderabad
Hyderabad is set to welcome another spiritual edifice under the auspices of the Hare Krishna movement: the Hare Krishna Heritage Tower.
Located in Kokapet, this heritage tower is being constructed over a six-acre area with a budget exceeding ₹200 crores.
Recently, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy laid the foundation and performed the inaugural ceremonies for this spiritual building.
Once completed, this 430-foot-tall tower will be among the tallest structures in the country and is expected to become a major attraction in Hyderabad.
The specialties of this Heritage Tower include a temple mandapam that will house the idols of Radha-Krishna along with eight main gopikas.
A temple resembling the grand enclosures of Tirumala dedicated to Lord Srinivasa is also planned within the complex.
The temple dedicated to Lord Srinivasa Govinda is being intricately carved out of stone, reflecting the architectural culture of ancient temple structures.
Envisioned as the Pride of Telangana, this Heritage Tower will embody architectural styles from the Kakatiya, Chalukya, and Dravidian eras.
The tower will also feature a museum, library, and other modern facilities like temples, holograms, and laser projectors to enhance spiritual awareness among visitors.
A free meal center is also planned to be established within the tower to serve the elderly and disabled, complete with elevators and ramps, as well as a queue hall for devotees waiting for darshan.
The inauguration of the Hare Krishna Heritage Tower is set to transform the area into a spiritual and commercial hub, providing employment opportunities to many local small business owners.
The Telangana government has contributed ₹25 crores towards the construction of the Hare Krishna Heritage Tower, which is expected to be completed by 2028.

Allu Sirish's 'Buddy': A Spirited Comeback in an Action-Packed Adventure
Cast: Allu Sirish, Gayatri Bharadwaj, Prisha Singh, Ajmal Amir, Sriram Reddy, Mohammed Ali, Mukesh Kumar, and others.
Director: Sam Antone
Music: Hip-hop Tamizha
Cinematography: Krishnan Vasant
Editor: Ruben
Producer: K.E. Gnanavel Raja
Release Date: August 2, 2024
After a considerable hiatus, Mega Hero Allu Sirish makes his comeback with the film 'Buddy', starring alongside heroines Gayatri Bharadwaj and Prisha Singh. Directed by Sam Antone and produced by K.E. Gnanavel Raja under the Studio Green Films banner, this action-adventure film was released on August 2.
What's the Story?
Aditya Ram (Allu Sirish), a pilot, falls in love with Pallavi (Gayatri Bharadwaj), who works as an air traffic controller in Visakhapatnam, without ever meeting her. Just as they plan to meet, unexpected events unfold. Pallavi gets caught in a medical mafia trap and is kidnapped, falling into a coma. Her spirit enters a teddy bear that Aditya once gifted her. How does her spirit, through the teddy, reunite with Aditya? How does Aditya, with the help of the teddy, retrieve her body from the villains? What did the villain gang plan to do with Pallavi's body? This is the story.
How Did They Perform?
Allu Sirish delivers a remarkable performance as Aditya. He excels in the action sequences, showing great maturity as an actor in this film. Gayatri Bharadwaj captivates with her glamour, charming the audience every moment she's on screen. Ajmal Amir, as the villain, matches well against Sirish, impressing with his acting. Second heroine Prisha Singh delights as an air hostess. The other actors also performed commendably within their roles.
How's the Direction?
Director Sam Antone made an effort to craft a unique story with this film. The love track between Allu Sirish and Gayatri Bharadwaj is beautifully executed. The scenes that show their connection despite being physically apart are particularly entertaining for the youth. The film keeps the audience engaged with 'Kalki' and 'Jai Balayya slogans' that add energy. The action sequences involving Buddy and Allu Sirish are enjoyable. However, the director failed to maintain suspense about what happens next, with the scenes being predictable. Some irrelevant comedy scenes caused viewer fatigue. An attempt to inject humor into the crucial climax was unnecessary.
Technically...
Technically speaking, Hip-hop Tamizha's background music is a strong addition, enhancing the action scenes, although the songs themselves are not very memorable. Krishnan Vasant's cinematographer is commendable. Editor Ruben could have sharpened his cuts a bit more. Better output from the graphics department would have added value to the film. Production values are satisfactory.
Plus Points
- Allu Sirish's acting
- The love track
- Action sequences with Buddy
Minus Points
- Screenplay
- Lack of suspense
- Some boring scenes

Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Style Evolution: A Sneak Peek into Prabhas’ Look for 'Spirit'!
Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has carved a unique niche in Indian cinema. Breaking away from clichéd scenes and formulaic screenplays, he introduced a fresh, innovative filmmaking style. His approach challenged the notion that audiences only appreciate traditional narratives, proving that new ideas are warmly embraced. Sandeep even surprised veteran filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma with his skills, earning high praise. While his on-screen work is widely recognized, his off-screen style also carries a distinct feature that many might overlook unless observed closely. Let’s explore this aspect.
Hero-Specific Makeovers
The sensational director has helmed three films so far, each leaving a significant impact. His debut film Arjun Reddy shook Tollywood and redefined storytelling. Later, he remade it in Hindi as Kabir Singh, achieving massive success. Last year, he delivered a box office tsunami with Animal. Interestingly, during the shoot of his films, Sandeep appears in styles that match his heroes’ looks. For Arjun Reddy, Vijay Deverakonda sported long hair and a thick beard, and Sandeep adopted the same look during the shoot. Similarly, for Animal, Ranbir Kapoor’s long hair and rugged beard were mirrored by Sandeep himself, a style he even carried to promotional events.

The Spirit Look
After Animal, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is gearing up for a big project with Rebel Star Prabhas titled Spirit. The shoot is almost confirmed to begin in December. Recently, Sandeep surprised everyone with a new look, sparking speculation that it might reflect Prabhas’ look in Spirit. Director Prasanth Varma shared pictures with Sandeep on social media, where he appeared clean-shaven with sharp moustaches and a stylish beard. Fans believe Prabhas might adopt a similar makeover for the film. Whether this prediction comes true will be revealed soon.
https://twitter.com/PrasanthVarma/status/1858346779604906308
Three Different Looks for Prabhas
In Spirit, Prabhas is set to portray a powerful police officer. Based on Sandeep’s latest look, fans speculate this might influence Prabhas’ cop avatar. Additionally, there are rumors that Prabhas will showcase two other distinct looks in the film, reminiscent of Ranbir Kapoor’s transformation in Animal. The shoot is expected to officially launch in December, with regular filming starting in January 2025. Reports suggest Sandeep plans to complete the movie within six months. Fans eagerly await the film’s grand launch.
Romancing in Europe
Meanwhile, Pan-India star Prabhas is currently working on The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi, slated for an April 10, 2025 release. Music for the film is being composed by S.S. Thaman, with six songs planned, including two duets shot abroad. These romantic tracks, featuring Prabhas and Malavika Mohanan, will reportedly be filmed in Europe. The team is currently scouting locations for these sequences.

Prabhas New Movie: Exciting Update... Another Film Replaces 'Spirit'!
Following the blockbuster success of 'Kalki 2898 AD', Prabhas' popularity has reached new heights. There is growing anticipation nationwide for his upcoming projects. Prabhas is currently collaborating with director Maruthi on a film titled 'Raja Saab' and is also expected to appear in the sequel to 'Kalki', directed by Nag Ashwin. Additionally, renowned directors Prashanth Neel and Sandeep Reddy Vanga are lined up for future collaborations with him. It was widely expected that Sandeep Reddy Vanga's project would be Prabhas' next film to start production. However, recent buzz in Tollywood indicates that Prabhas may greenlight a different film instead. Let’s explore the details.
Director Preference!
Fans and others were expecting Prabhas to collaborate with Sandeep Reddy Vanga after the success of 'Kalki 2898 AD'. However, it appears that director Hanu Raghavapudi, known for 'Sita Ramam', has stepped in instead. Prabhas had previously committed to a project with Hanu Raghavapudi, now reportedly titled 'Fauji'. Given the extensive pre-production required for 'Spirit', Prabhas has opted to proceed with 'Fauji', sparking significant buzz in the industry. Director Hanu Raghavapudi is making preparations to begin shooting in October.
Prabhas as a Soldier!
The upcoming film 'Fauji' with Hanu Raghavapudi is set to be a period drama, unfolding against a 1940s British era backdrop. Mrunal Thakur is likely to appear as the heroine opposite Prabhas. 'Fauji' meaning soldier, Prabhas is expected to portray a military officer, stirring significant excitement among fans. The film is set to be produced on a grand scale by Mythri Movie Makers, with Vishal Chandrashekhar providing the music. Official updates related to this movie are expected soon.
Raja Saab's Big Plan!
Prabhas is collaborating with director Maruthi on the upcoming film 'Raja Saab'. An exciting development has recently emerged regarding the movie. Director Maruthi is considering remixing a classic hit song for the film, which interestingly is not a Telugu song but a superhit Hindi song from the 1980s. The music director, Thaman, is currently in discussions with the filmmakers, who are considering three songs, with one expected to be finalized soon. The iconic Bollywood song 'O Khaike Paan Banaras Wala' might be remade, generating significant buzz in cinema circles.
I'll Show My Best Work
Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for his bold and daring directing style, is currently immersed in pre-production for 'Spirit'. With Prabhas confirmed in the lead role, casting for other parts is still underway. Recently, Sandeep shared insights about what to expect from 'Spirit', sparking significant interest online. He stated, "Some say 'Animal' is my best work. You'll see my best in 'Spirit'," raising anticipation among fans. Many are already predicting that 'Spirit' will eclipse the success of Sandeep's previous hits like 'Arjun Reddy', 'Kabir Singh', and 'Animal'. Social media is abuzz with predictions of another blockbuster for Prabhas, potentially earning up to Rs. 1000 crores.
Prabhas as a Powerful Police Officer
Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has plans to uniquely craft 'Spirit', not focusing on affluent family dramas like in 'Arjun Reddy' or 'Animal', but setting it against a middle-class backdrop. Past comments by Sandeep suggest that Prabhas will play a powerful police officer, an avatar never seen before. His characterization and mannerisms are expected to bring something fresh to the screen. The script for 'Spirit' is nearing its final stages, with filming likely to commence around October or November, as buzzed in film circles.

"Mahesh Babu Wins Hearts in Kollywood: A 'Zero Ego Hero' Across Borders"
Among the leading actors in Tollywood, Superstar Mahesh Babu is renowned for his generous spirit across the two Telugu states. Recently, however, he has also captured the admiration of Tamil audiences. They are extolling him for a recent act, praising him as a 'zero ego hero'—a rarity they claim to have never seen before. What exactly did Mahesh Babu do to earn such high praise from Kollywood fans? Let's delve into this story to find out.
Mahesh's Review on 'Raayan'!
Recently, Mahesh Babu watched the movie 'Raayan,' directed by Dhanush, and took to X to commend the 'Raayan' team. He showered praise on Dhanush and the main cast for their performances, stating, "Dhanush has excelled with brilliant direction and acting. SJ Suryah, Prakash Raj, and Sundeep Kishan have performed exceptionally well. Every actor in the film has delivered a hundred percent. AR Rahman's music is yet another marvel. 'Raayan' is definitely a must-watch movie. My best wishes to the team." Actor Sundeep Kishan responded to Mahesh's post, thanking the superstar.

Praise for 'Zero Ego'
The Tamil audience is delighted that Mahesh Babu has appreciated a Tamil movie, noting it as a happy moment that an actor from another industry has recognized their cinema. Despite many stars in Kollywood, they pointed out that none had spoken about the movie as Mahesh did. They are expressing joy over Mahesh's ego-free commendation and note that his good nature is apparent through this post. There's also talk among fans that a movie featuring both Mahesh and Dhanush would break records. Tamil actress Aparna Balamurali also thanked Mahesh for his post.
New Movie Review is a Must!
This isn't the first time Mahesh has reviewed a movie. He has been actively sharing his thoughts on new films he enjoys on social media for some time. He expressed similar sentiments about Prabhas's 'Kalki 2898 AD.' He praised Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan for their performances and director Nag Ashwin's futuristic vision on X. He has also shared his views on other films like 'Harom Hara,' 'Bhajevayu Vegam,' and 'Premalu' on X. Fans believe that if Mahesh praises a movie, it must be special, and they are posting that any film he reviews must be good.
Busy with 'SSMB29'
Superstar Mahesh Babu and acclaimed director Rajamouli are collaborating on 'SSMB29.' Rajamouli is currently busy with the pre-production of the film, and Mahesh has completely transformed his look for it, sporting long hair and a beard, resembling a Hollywood hero. According to the latest buzz, the film is soon to go on floors, with the first schedule set to start in Germany. There is also talk that the movie, tentatively titled 'Ajanubahu,' 'Maharaj,' or 'GOLD,' is under consideration. There are expectations of some update related to the movie by Mahesh's birthday on August 9.

Devaki Nandana Vasudeva Movie Review: Ashok Galla Shines in a Mythology-Inspired Tale That Misses the Mark!
Cast: Ashok Galla, Manasa Varanasi, Devadatta Nage, and othersDirector: Arjun JandyalaStory: Prasanth VarmaDialogues: Burra Sai MadhavCinematography: Prasad Murella, RasoolEditing: ThimmarajuRelease Date: November 22, 2024
Ashok Galla, the son of prominent businessman Galla Jayadev and nephew of Mahesh Babu, stars in his latest film, Devaki Nandana Vasudeva. Prasanth Varma, known for Hanuman, penned the story, while Arjun Jandyala directed the movie. The team promised a blend of spirituality, commercial appeal, and thrilling elements. Released on November 22, did the movie captivate the audience? Did Prasanth Varma's trademark shine through? Let’s delve into the details.
The Plot
Kamsaraju (Devadatta Nage) is a tyrant. During a visit to Kashi, he encounters an Aghora who predicts that his death will come at the hands of his sister’s third child. Terrified, Kamsaraju attacks his pregnant sister (Devayani), leading to the death of her husband. He is sentenced to 21 years in prison. Meanwhile, his sister gives birth to a girl, Sathya (Manasa Varanasi). As she grows up, Krishna (Ashok Galla) falls in love with her. Upon Kamsaraju’s release from jail, what happens to Sathya? What secret has Kamsaraju’s sister been hiding from him? How does Krishna protect his love? The answers lie in the movie.
The Performances
Ashok Galla clearly worked hard for his role as Krishna, and his efforts are evident on screen. Compared to his previous film, Ashok has improved in both acting and body language. His performance in key emotional scenes is commendable. Manasa Varanasi impresses as the heroine, and her chemistry with Ashok works well. However, she falters in conveying deeper emotions in certain scenes. Devadatta Nage delivers a solid performance as the antagonist, while Devayani does justice to her role as Kamsaraju’s sister. Jhansi shines as the hero’s mother, while supporting actors like Sanjay Swaroop, Shatru, Sridhar Reddy, and Getup Srinu play their parts adequately.
The Direction
Despite a premise with potential, Prasanth Varma’s story lacks depth. While mythology is woven into the narrative, it feels disjointed and fails to sync with the storyline. Director Arjun Jandyala missed the opportunity to create magic in the screenplay, which falls flat and lacks intrigue. Certain scenes promote superstitions rather than adding value to the narrative. The love track between the lead pair feels underwhelming, and the action sequences between Krishna and Kamsaraju fail to make an impact. Some scenes intended to elevate Krishna’s character come across as overly dramatic. Overall, the direction leaves the audience bored at several points.
Technical Aspects
On the technical front, Bhims Ceciroleo’s music is a major asset. His background score elevates the action sequences significantly. Prasad Murella’s cinematography is impressive, capturing the essence of the scenes well. Editor Thimmaraju’s work is satisfactory. The production values are high, and there’s no compromise in terms of budget, making the film visually appealing.
