Venkat Prabhu Faces Backlash Over Telugu Audience Criticism After 'The Goat' Underperforms
Venkat Prabhu Faces Backlash Over Telugu Audience Criticism After 'The Goat' Underperforms
The latest film starring Kollywood star hero Vijay, titled 'The Goat' (The Greatest Of All Time), released on September 5 and has been a massive hit in Tamil Nadu, even crossing the Rs. 300 crore mark with impressive overseas collections. However, the film seems to be facing strong resistance in the Telugu and Hindi markets. In this context, the film's director Venkat Prabhu responded, sparking a heated debate on social media. 'That's Why They Didn't Like It' In Telugu and Hindi, 'The Goat' (The Greatest Of All Time) did not meet the expected levels of success. Mythri Movie Makers, a prominent production company, purchased the film for Rs. 22 crores in Telugu, but so far, it has only grossed Rs. 10 crores. Current circumstances suggest that even breaking even may be difficult. Against this backdrop, director Venkat Prabhu took to social media to express his views. He suggested that scenes related to Chennai Super Kings and MS Dhoni, which were highlights, did not resonate well with Telugu and Hindi audiences, which might be why the film underperformed in these regions. He also accused fans of the IPL teams from Mumbai and Bangalore of excessively trolling his film, attributing this to his known fandom of Chennai Super Kings. Venkat Prabhu's comments have become a hot topic on social media. https://twitter.com/TheAakashavaani/status/1833133203697131918 Telugu Audience Fires Back..! Telugu audiences are strongly criticizing Venkat Prabhu's recent comments. They are posting online that there are other reasons for 'The Goat's disaster performance in Telugu. Comments suggest that if the content is good, they support films irrespective of the industry. They remind the director of the massive success his previous film 'Maanaadu' had in Telugu, indicating that MS Dhoni also has a huge fanbase in the Telugu states, with stadiums filling up in yellow jerseys whenever a CSK match is played in Hyderabad. They are requesting that the actual reasons for 'The Goat's failure be investigated. Reasons for the Flop in Telugu Are These! Director Venkat Prabhu made 'The Goat' with a routine story where Vijay played dual roles as father and son. Despite the terrorism backdrop, it lacked the twists typically seen in agent films. There were no twists or turns in the story, and even the operations conducted by the hero lacked thrill. Additionally, unnecessary songs and Yogi Babu's comedy track tested the patience of the Telugu audience. However, the action sequences and the IPL track in the climax managed to generate some excitement. Dhoni Said No! 'The Goat' featured many cameo roles. Sivakarthikeyan and Trisha appeared as guests, and India's former cricket captain MS Dhoni was also shown during the climax using IPL visuals. Director Venkat Prabhu originally intended to have a scene with Dhoni in the film, but since Dhoni did not agree, they had to resort to using IPL visuals. The 20-minute climax episode captivated cricket lovers immensely. Furious Over Negative Reviews Director Venkat Prabhu responded to the negative reviews of 'The Goat.' "People don't talk about the effort we put into making the film. Some intentionally post negative comments. We included references in the film not found in any other movie, all to celebrate every hero fan. The film wasn't made just for the guest appearances but was crafted to include everything audiences desire. We made this film for the audience, not the reviewers," he stated.

Vijay's 'The Goat' Nears ₹300 Crore Mark with Impressive Box Office Performance
Vijay's 'The Goat' Nears ₹300 Crore Mark with Impressive Box Office Performance
Tamil star hero Vijay stars in the latest action thriller "The Goat" (The Greatest Of All Time), directed by Venkat Prabhu. Meenakshi Chaudhary is the heroine, with Sneha, Laila, Prashanth, and Prabhudeva playing key roles. The film, featuring de-aging technology, marks Vijay's last movie before his rumoured entry into politics, which has spiked expectations. However, it was released worldwide on Thursday, September 5. In Telugu-speaking regions, the film received mixed reviews, whereas in Tamil Nadu, it particularly captivated Vijay's fanbase and garnered a hit talk. On its first day, the movie grossed over Rs. 120 crore. Now, let’s see how the weekend collections shaped up. How Much Did The Weekend Collections Amount To? Vijay’s "The Goat" (The Greatest Of All Time) lived up to expectations at the box office, grossing Rs. 282.5 crore worldwide in the first four days, narrowly missing the Rs. 300 crore club. However, it set a record as the highest-grossing Tamil film of the year. Dhanush's recent film 'Raayan' crossed lifetime gross earnings of Rs. 154 crore within the first two days and set this feat. Notably, 'The Goat' grossed Rs. 106.40 crore in Tamil Nadu alone. In the two Telugu-speaking states, it collected Rs. 10.10 crore, Rs. 21.1 crore in Karnataka, Rs. 10.4 crore in Kerala, and Rs. 13.9 crore in the rest of India. Overseas, the film fetched around Rs. 120.15 crore according to trade estimates. Currently, the film is surging towards the Rs. 300 crore club. What’s The Film Like? Director Venkat Prabhu’s storyline doesn’t bring anything new to the table. Movies featuring a hero working in defense and the villain raising the hero’s son only to turn him against his father have been quite common. However, the scenes written about the son’s revenge seem interesting. The first half is mostly spent introducing the hero and other characters, with the story unfolding predictably until the pre-interval. The interval scene sets up an intriguing second half. Though the second half also largely unfolds as expected, the director successfully crafted an engaging climax. The twists in the second half will surprise the audience. The film’s comedy and dialogues are deeply infused with Tamil elements, which might not appeal as much to the Telugu audience. However, for Vijay's fans, this film is sure to be a treat. What's the Story? Gandhi (Vijay), a special anti-terrorism squad officer, conducts various successful missions with his teammates Sunil (Prashant), Ajay (Ajmal), and Kalyan Sundaram (Prabhu Deva). However, he keeps his job a secret from his wife Anu (Sneha). During one mission abroad, his five-year-old son dies. Believing her husband to be responsible, Anu distances herself from Gandhi. Distraught, Gandhi leaves the force. Years later, on a trip to Moscow, he encounters his son Jeevan (Vijay), whom he thought was dead, alive. Overjoyed, he brings him back to India. From then on, Gandhi’s acquaintances start dying one by one. Who is responsible for these deaths? How did his presumed-dead son come back? How does Gandhi stop the killings? These questions form the crux of the story.

Vijay's 'The Goat' Makes a Strong Impact with First-Day Collections Despite Mixed Reviews
Vijay's 'The Goat' Makes a Strong Impact with First-Day Collections Despite Mixed Reviews
Tamil superstar Vijay stars in the latest action thriller 'The Goat' (The Greatest Of All Time), directed by Venkat Prabhu. Meenakshi Chaudhary plays the leading lady, while Sneha, Laila, Prashanth, and Prabhu Deva have significant roles. This film, developed with de-aging technology, has garnered high expectations as it is rumored to be Vijay's final movie before his political entry. It was released worldwide on Thursday (September 5) and received mixed reactions in the Telugu states, but it was a hit among Vijay's fans in Tamil Nadu. Let’s see how the movie performed on its first day. Day 1 Collections Matching the high expectations, 'The Goat' (The Greatest Of All Time) raked in impressive collections on its first day. In India alone, the film is estimated to have grossed over ₹55 crores, with a net collection of ₹43 crores. Tamil Nadu alone contributed a gross of ₹38.3 crores. The Telugu states accounted for ₹3 crores and Hindi markets brought in ₹1.7 crores in gross collections. The worldwide gross is expected to surpass ₹80 crores on the first day. However, according to trade estimates, 'The Goat' could not surpass the record set by Vijay’s previous film 'Leo', which collected ₹148.5 crores on its first day. What's 'The Goat' Like? Director Venkat Prabhu’s story does not present much novelty. Movies featuring a hero working in defense sectors and villains raising the hero’s son only to use him against the hero have been seen before. However, the scenes depicting the son’s revenge feel intriguing. The first half mainly introduces the hero and other characters, progressing predictably until the pre-interval. The interval scene raises interest for the second half, which largely unfolds as expected, but the climax is crafted to captivate. The twists in the second half are sure to surprise the audience. The Tamil essence in comedy and dialogues might not appeal much to the Telugu audience, but Vijay's fans will likely find the film immensely engaging. The Plot Gandhi (Vijay), a special anti-terrorism squad officer, conducts various successful missions with his teammates Sunil (Prashant), Ajay (Ajmal), and Kalyan Sundaram (Prabhu Deva). However, he keeps his job a secret from his wife Anu (Sneha). During one mission abroad, his five-year-old son dies. Believing her husband to be responsible, Anu distances herself from Gandhi. Vijay's 'The GOAT': A Predictable Action Drama with Strong Performances and High Expectations
Vijay's 'The GOAT': A Predictable Action Drama with Strong Performances and High Expectations
Cast: Vijay, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prabhu Deva, Prashant Thyagarajan, Kokila Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, VTV Ganesh, Aravind Akash, Vaibhav Reddy, and others. Story and Direction: Venkat Prabhu Music: Yuvan Shankar Raja Cinematography: Siddharth Nuni Editing: Venkat Rajan Producers: Kalpathi S. Aghoram, Kalpathi S. Ganesh, Kalpathi S. Suresh Tamil star hero Vijay stars in the latest action thriller 'The GOAT' (The Greatest of All Time), directed by Venkat Prabhu. The film also features Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female lead, with important roles played by Sneha, Laila, Prashant, and Prabhu Deva. This film is notable for its use of de-aging technology. With rumors circulating that this might be Vijay's last film before entering politics, expectations for the film were quite high. How did the film turn out? How much did it captivate the audience? Did it provide another unforgettable success for Vijay or not? Let’s find out in this review. Plot Gandhi (Vijay), a special anti-terrorism squad officer, conducts various successful missions with his teammates Sunil (Prashant), Ajay (Ajmal), and Kalyan Sundaram (Prabhu Deva). Performances Vijay delivers a dual role, excelling as Gandhi but the young Vijay’s digitally aged look as Jeevan might feel a bit off, not entirely convincing. Vijay shines again in action sequences and emotional scenes, proving his star quality. Meenakshi Chaudhary as the heroine doesn’t have much of a role, feeling more like a guest appearance. Prashant, Ajmal, and Prabhu Deva as squad members are adequate but not outstanding. Jayaram, as the head of the squad, captivates with his performance. Sneha impresses with her acting as Gandhi’s wife. Tamil youth hero Shiva Karthikeyan makes a mark in a cameo, and Trisha excites in a special song appearance. The rest of the cast performs adequately within their roles. Direction Director Venkat Prabhu’s storyline lacks novelty. The narrative of a hero working in defense and the villain raising his son to turn against him has been seen many times before. However, the scenes detailing the son’s revenge feel engaging. The first half is mostly spent introducing the characters, and the plot progresses as expected until the pre-interval. The interval scene raises curiosity for the second half, which, although predictable, includes some twists that surprise the audience. The comedy and dialogues are deeply rooted in Tamil culture, which might not entirely appeal to the Telugu audience. However, Vijay’s fans will likely find the film quite entertaining. Technically On the technical front, the songs by Yuvan Shankar Raja are forgettable, not leaving a lasting impact. However, the background music enhances the action sequences, elevating them to another level. The graphic department could have done better, especially with Vijay’s de-aging look. Editing is competent. The production values are high, showing no compromise in terms of budget. Plus Points - Vijay’s performance - Action sequences - Climax Minus Points - Predictable plot - Slow first half Telugu.yousay.tv Rating : 2.5/5

Arshad Warsi: Nag Ashwin Responds to Comments
The comments made by Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi about Pan-India star Prabhas have caused significant uproar at the national level. Warsi compared Prabhas's character in the movie "Kalki 2898 AD" to a joker, sparking widespread criticism from fans and celebrities alike. Accusations are flying that Bollywood can't handle the success of Tollywood movies at the Pan-India level, showing jealousy, resentment, and envy. Amidst this, "Kalki's" director Nag Ashwin responded. His post on platform X has now become a hot topic. 'Arshad should have spoken more thoughtfully' Recently, Nag Ashwin reacted to Arshad Warsi’s comments. A netizen posted a scene from "Kalki," captioning it as equivalent to the entire Bollywood industry. Nag Ashwin replied, advising against dividing lines like Tollywood versus Bollywood and urged everyone to move forward together, stating that we are all part of one industry. "Arshad should have spoken more thoughtfully, but no worries. We will send Kalki toys for his children. I will work harder on the second part of Kalki and make sure Prabhas looks his best," he tweeted. Nag Ashwin emphasized ignoring hatred and moving forward, which Prabhas also advocates. https://twitter.com/Varun__Tweets/status/1827148108171768059 https://twitter.com/nagashwin7/status/1827177489455824930 Arshad Receives Sharp Retort from Nani Hero Nani also responded in his style to the comments Arshad Warsi made about Prabhas, noting that Warsi had never received such publicity before. While promoting the Hindi version of "Saripodhaa Sanivaaram" in Mumbai, Nani spoke to the media and retracted his statements, reflecting on his words. He reminded everyone that Arshad, widely recognized from the "Munna Bhai" series, should be careful with his words when speaking as an actor. 'Anti-Indian Arshad' Social media is ablaze with Prabhas's fans attacking Arshad Warsi, digging up his controversial past posts. Bharateeyudu 2 Review: Kamal Haasan Returns, but Does the Sequel Match the Original's Brilliance?
Bharateeyudu 2 Review: Kamal Haasan Returns, but Does the Sequel Match the Original's Brilliance?
Cast: Kamal Haasan, Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani, Vivek Director: Shankar Music: Anirudh Ravichander Cinematographer: Ravi Varman Editor: Sreekar Prasad Producer: Allirajah Subaskaran Release Date: 12-07-2024 Kamal Haasan and director Shankar's original film, 'Bharateeyudu', which debuted twenty-five years ago, became a sensation for its intense critique of corruption and bribery. The sequel, titled 'Bharateeyudu 2', was released in theaters on July 12. Alongside Kamal Haasan, the film stars Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, S.J. Surya, Bobby Simha, Brahmanandam, and Samuthirakani in pivotal roles. Has this film met expectations? Has Kamal Haasan once again captivated audiences as Bharateeyudu2? Let's explore in this review. Plot Aravindan (Siddharth) and his friends fight against corruption and injustices within the country. They spread awareness through social media videos and urge the return of Bharateeyudu. In response, the veteran freedom fighter Senapathi (Kamal Haasan), known for his previous anti-corruption crusades, returns to India. He takes decisive action against those deeply involved in corruption and motivates the youth. However, unexpected developments stir public dissent against Bharateeyudu. What exactly unfolded? Why did the public turn against Senapathi? What triggered their anger? Did Bharateeyudu succeed in his objectives upon returning? This forms the crux of the story. Performance  In 'Bharateeyudu 2', Kamal Haasan delivers a virtuoso performance, reprising the role of Senapathi with remarkable skill. Siddharth also stands out in a pivotal role. Rakul Preet Singh and S.J. Surya enhance the film with their performances, although their characters are somewhat underdeveloped. The rest of the cast delivers adequate performances. Direction Director Shankar seems to have merely repeated the narrative of Bharateeyudu. He updated an outdated story to fit modern times, focusing the sequel on showcasing how Bharateeyudu would eliminate corruption today. Shankar’s usual flair is missing in the direction. The screenplay is lackluster, and even Kamal Haasan's introduction isn't as engaging. While some scenes are well-executed, others fail to make an impact. However, Kamal Haasan's chase sequences and the fight scenes with terrorists are highlights. The social message adds some strength to the film, but the lack of father-daughter sentiment and uninspiring songs from the first film negatively impact this one. Overall, the sequel fails to mesmerize the audience as Senapathi did before. Technical Aspects On the technical front, the music by Anirudh Ravichander isn't memorable, though the background score is good. However, in some scenes, the BGM dominates too much. The cinematography is commendable, and the editing is passable. The production values are high, showing no compromise on spending. Plus Points Kamal Haasan's actingThe messageAction sequences Minus Points Outdated storyWeak screenplayLack of emotional impactDragging scenes Telugu.yousay.tv Rating : 2.5/5   Public Talk: What Are Netizens Saying? On Twitter, 'Bharateeyudu 2' is receiving mixed reactions. While a few comment that the film is good, many are posting that it's a flop, surrounding it with negative talk. Some even question if Shankar really directed the film. A netizen on Twitter called 'Bharateeyudu 2' a disaster, expressing dissatisfaction with its boring and outdated story. https://twitter.com/TheWarriorr26/status/1811574234780733548 Another netizen said the story progresses boringly. They noted that the first half lacks gripping and exciting sequences. https://twitter.com/newMovieBuff007/status/1811561032780820788 One person tweeted that the movie was discouraging, with a very poor screenplay and emotional scenes that didn't work, making 'Indian 3' seem unlikely. https://twitter.com/TheWarriorr26/status/1811574234780733548 A netizen named Vijay posted that 'Indian 2' was a below-average film. However, they found the trailer for 'Indian 3' played during the climax somewhat interesting, raising hopes for the next installment. https://twitter.com/vijay827482/status/1811579025699066091 Another netizen praised 'Bharateeyudu 2', complimenting Shankar's direction as next-level and Kamal Haasan's acting and action sequences. They gave the movie a four-star rating. https://twitter.com/FMovie82325/status/1811559067925524625

Devara Movie Review: : Jr. NTR’s Stellar Acting Overshadowed by an Uneven Narrative
Devara Movie Review: : Jr. NTR’s Stellar Acting Overshadowed by an Uneven Narrative
Cast: NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Shruti Marathe, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, and others. Written and Directed by: Koratala Siva Music by: Anirudh Ravichander Cinematography by: R. Rathnavelu Editing by: A. Sreekar Prasad Produced by: Sudhakar Mikkilineni, Kosaraju Harikrishna, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram Release Date: September 27, 2024 NTR stars in an action drama 'Devara', directed by Koratala Siva, with Janhvi Kapoor as the heroine. NTR returns to dual roles after many years, portraying the characters of Devara and Vara. The promotional materials already released have heightened expectations. Saif Ali Khan plays the antagonist, with significant roles being filled by Prakash Raj, Srikanth, and Shine Tom Chacko. The movie has completed all its schedules and released worldwide on September 27. But how is the film? Does it meet the expectations? Has it impressed the audience or not? Let's find out in this review. The Story Located on a hill at the border between Andhra and Tamil Nadu are four villages collectively known as the Red Sea. Here, Devara (NTR) along with Bhairava (Saif Ali Khan), Rayappa (Srikanth), and Kunjara (Shine Tom Chacko) serve as the heads of each village. Their job involves smuggling goods through the sea to Murugan (Murali Sharma) without getting caught by authorities. However, realizing the damage caused, Devara decides to put an end to their smuggling activities. Bhairava disagrees, sparking a conflict between them. Devara instills deep fear in everyone. Bhairava then plans to kill Devara. Does his plan succeed? What pivotal decision does Devara make to stop the smuggling? Why does his son Vara (NTR) become fearful? Who kills Bhairava's men trying to enter the sea? How does Vara's romance with Thangam (Janhvi Kapoor) develop? What is Devara’s connection with gangster Yathi? Watch the movie to know. Performances There's no need to specifically mention Tarak's acting; he immerses himself in any role he takes. In this movie, too, he impresses as both Devara and Vara, bringing variations that captivate the audience. He reaffirms his prowess in action scenes and dazzles in dance sequences. Janhvi Kapoor, making her Tollywood debut, fits perfectly as the village girl Thangam, appearing authentic as a Telugu girl, though her screen time is brief. Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan captivates as the villain, making a strong impact in a role that competes with Tarak's. Srikanth, Prakash Raj, Ajay, Murali Sharma, Shruti, and others play significant roles, with other actors performing well within their limits. Direction Director Koratala Siva creates a new world named 'Red Sea' and attempts to weave drama and emotions in his unique style. The first half unfolds the story of the Red Sea, the characters Devara and Bhaira, their transformation into smugglers, their conflicts, songs, and the terror Devara instills, all showcased effectively by Koratala. The interval bang is also excellently planned. While the first half revolves around Devara, the second half introduces Vara. The entry of the second NTR is well-executed, but the story seems stretched afterwards. Janhvi Kapoor’s scenes feel forced, except for a song, and the rest seem tedious. The pre-climax action scenes inside the sea are spectacular, but the climax, while engaging, reminds one of the movie Baahubali. Koratala sets up for a part two, ending Devara's story. However, the second part lacks the impact of the first, with a weak love track, dragged scenes, predictable narrative, and missing the typical Koratala mark being the downsides. Technically On the technical front, all departments have performed well. Anirudh's background music is another major strength of the movie, enhancing the film with his distinctive BGM. The songs are good, with 'Chuttammalle' likely to generate whistles in theatres. Rathnavelu's cinematography is excellent, richly presenting each scene. Editing is decent. The production values are high, sparing no expense. Plus Points - NTR's performance - First half - Cinematography - Music Minus Points - Second part - Weak love track Rating by Telugu.yousay.tv: 3/5 Devara Public Talk: What Are Netizens Saying? Viewers who have watched 'Devara' are expressing their opinions on Twitter. There's a shower of praise for Tarak's acting and the action sequences. Particularly, the songs and background music provided by Anirudh have been outstanding, as per the comments. At the same time, there are some negative posts also appearing about 'Devara'. Let's take a look at them. One netizen commented that NTR's performance in 'Devara' is outstanding. He posted that 'Devara' would appeal to audiences from all segments. https://twitter.com/vamsikaka/status/1839539465427263788 Netizens are saying that the background music Anirudh provided for 'Devara' is next level. One netizen's post directed at Anirudh, saying "What a beat, man!" is going viral. https://twitter.com/NaveenKRaju22/status/1839415238132924882? He commented that the first half is fantastic.. the second half is superb.. and the BGM is high-voltage. https://twitter.com/Keerthan0712/status/1839544841291825305 Another netizen posted that the first part of 'Devara' is very good. However, he mentioned that the second part is quite predictable but overall, 'Devara' is satisfying. https://twitter.com/venkyreviews/status/1839437743883178036 One netizen expressed deep disappointment with the film 'Devara', stating it failed to meet expectations.
