      The film 'Bharateeyudu 2', starring Kamal Haasan and directed by Shankar, is facing difficulties at the box office. Negative reviews from its first showing have significantly impacted its earnings. As a result, the revenue over Saturday and Sunday was low, causing the weekend collections to plummet. There is now widespread speculation that the film will be a disaster. How much were the weekend collections? Trade circles announced that 'Bharateeyudu 2' only managed to garner ₹59 crores over the weekend. It earned ₹25 crores on its first day, and significantly less, ₹18.2 crores on Saturday and ₹15.1 crores on Sunday. Saturday collections for the Tamil version were ₹13.7 crores, Telugu ₹3.2 crores, and Hindi ₹1.3 crores. Expected to increase, Sunday's collections instead dropped further, making ₹15.1 crores in India, with the Tamil version alone bringing in ₹11 crores. Telugu and Hindi versions only made ₹2.8 crores and ₹1.3 crores respectively. Further decline expected! With collections failing to meet expectations in the first weekend, the film crew is expressing concern. If this is the situation in the first week, there is apprehension about how much the collections could drop in the coming days. It's reported that some theater owners, especially in the Telugu states, are considering halting the screenings due to low turnout. Therefore, from Monday onwards, 'Bharateeyudu 2' is expected to perform even worse, with the Tamil market remaining the only hope for the film. Day 1 collections? Negative reviews impacted 'Bharateeyudu 2' on its first day, earning only ₹25.6 crores (GROSS) as reported by trade circles. The Tamil version collected the highest with ₹16.5 crores. Telugu earned ₹7.9 crores and Hindi just ₹1.2 crores. The film completely failed to attract the Hindi audience, leading to dismal collections in the north. Compared to Kamal Haasan's previous film 'Vikram', which earned ₹60 crores on its opening day, 'Bharateeyudu 2' saw a drastic fall in its Day 1 collections. Surya, Bobby Simha, Brahmanandam, and Samuthirakani in pivotal roles. Has this film met expectations? Has Kamal Haasan once again captivated audiences as Bharateeyudu2? Let's explore in this review. Plot Aravindan (Siddharth) and his friends fight against corruption and injustices within the country. They spread awareness through social media videos and urge the return of Bharateeyudu. In response, the veteran freedom fighter Senapathi (Kamal Haasan), known for his previous anti-corruption crusades, returns to India. Performance  In 'Bharateeyudu 2', Kamal Haasan delivers a virtuoso performance, reprising the role of Senapathi with remarkable skill. Siddharth also stands out in a pivotal role. Rakul Preet Singh and S.J. Surya enhance the film with their performances, although their characters are somewhat underdeveloped. The rest of the cast delivers adequate performances. Direction Director Shankar seems to have merely repeated the narrative of Bharateeyudu. He updated an outdated story to fit modern times, focusing the sequel on showcasing how Bharateeyudu would eliminate corruption today. Shankar’s usual flair is missing in the direction. The screenplay is lackluster, and even Kamal Haasan's introduction isn't as engaging. While some scenes are well-executed, others fail to make an impact. However, Kamal Haasan's chase sequences and the fight scenes with terrorists are highlights. The social message adds some strength to the film, but the lack of father-daughter sentiment and uninspiring songs from the first film negatively impact this one.
