Prasad and presented by B. Bapineedu, Rukmini Vasanth plays the lead actress, with Divyansha Kaushik in a key role. The film hit theaters on November 8. How does it fare? Does it captivate the Telugu audience? Has it brought success to Nikhil? Let’s find out in this review. Story Rishi (Nikhil), from Hyderabad, is a carefree young man with little interest in his career. He falls for Tara (Rukmini Vasanth) at first sight. However, due to certain dramatic events, their love ends in a breakup. After the heartbreak, Rishi shifts his focus to his career and moves to London. There, he trains as a racer while taking up odd jobs for pocket money. During this time, he becomes close to Tulasi (Divyansha Kaushik) and even decides to marry her. But Tulasi suddenly goes missing. Meanwhile, Tara, the girl he once loved, unexpectedly shows up in London, and Rishi finds himself entangled with a local don, Badrinarayana (John Vijay). Who is Badrinarayana? What happened to Tulasi? Why did Tara come to London? To find out, you’ll have to watch the movie. Performances Hero Nikhil captivates as usual with his steady performance, entertaining the audience with his looks and comic timing, though there are no particularly striking moments in his role. Rukmini Vasanth impresses with her natural acting, skillfully expressing emotions and proving herself as a talented actress once again. Divyansha Kaushik shines in her role as Tulasi, a character with negative shades, and receives good marks for her looks and glamour. Comedian Harsha Chemudu’s timing brings laughs, while John Vijay and Ajay’s roles are average. Satya and Sudarshan add momentum to the storyline. Direction Director Sudheer Varma opted for a routine story for ‘Appudo Ippudo Eppudo’ but managed to infuse his mark through storytelling and screenplay. Notably, he introduces the story from the perspective of a third person (comedian Satya), which adds interest. However, the two love tracks between the hero and heroines feel tedious. The introduction of the hero and his first love track make the first half feel slow, while the second half is somewhat better. The director struggles with key scenes, and the twists reveal poorly. Nevertheless, he manages to keep the film afloat to some extent with the comedy of Harsha Chemudu, Satya, and Sudarshan. The film lacks commercial appeal, and weak action sequences are additional drawbacks. Technically In terms of technical work, Richard Prasad’s cinematography is good, while Karthik’s songs are average. The background score is passable, editing is adequate, and the production values match the story well.       Tollywood has released countless films throughout its history. Naturally, not all of these films achieve blockbuster status. Audience responses can be mixed—while some movies become hits, others do not fare as well. The films we're going to discuss next, however, were particularly flops. Reports indicate that audiences walked out of the theaters before these movies even reached the halfway mark. Let's take a look at these films. [toc] Extra Ordinary Man From the day of its release, the recent film featuring Nithiin and Sreeleela , 'Extra Ordinary Man', encountered heavy criticism and trolling on social media. Critics admitted struggling to watch it even until the interval. Viewers were puzzled by the protagonist's actions, which seemed entirely controlled by the villain. 'Extra Ordinary Man' quickly became one of the most trolled films in Nithiin's career. Shaakuntalam 'Shaakuntalam', starring Samantha, arrived with high expectations, being her first venture into mythological cinema, and the promotional content had amplified these anticipations. However, the reception took a downturn after its release. Critics believed Samantha was not well-suited for the role of Shaakuntala, and pointed out issues with the dubbing. Online commenters also noted that the film was difficult to watch even through the first half. Radhe Shyam 'Radhe Shyam', featuring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde, fell short of audience expectations. Although Prabhas's dashing vintage appearance had raised hopes, the film's blend of astrology and romance failed to connect with viewers. Brahmotsavam 'Brahmotsavam' is often cited as a significant disappointment in Mahesh Babu's career, leaving a lasting mark, as per his fans. Son Of India 'Son Of India', featuring the veteran actor Manchu Mohan Babu, encountered significant negativity even before its release. Notably, only two tickets were sold for the first show on opening day at one theater, an incident that quickly went viral on social media, with speculations that even those tickets might have been purchased by the Manchu family themselves. The few who did watch the film gave it negative reviews, resulting in its rapid withdrawal from theaters. It is considered the biggest disaster in Mohan Babu's career. Vinaya Vidheya Rama 'Vinaya Vidheya Rama', a film by Ram Charan and director Boyapati Srinu, faced widespread criticism from its first showing. People took to social media to label the film as extremely poor and expressed eagerness for the interval so they could leave. Audiences found certain scenes, like Ram Charan standing on a moving train to Bihar or him beheading the villain's henchmen and carrying their heads, hard to accept. Liger 'Liger', another disaster in Vijay Deverakonda's career, was directed by Puri Jagannadh and released on a Pan-India scale, only to receive a flop response. Interest in the film faded within the first hour of its release, leading to a flood of posts on the internet. Critics questioned why Vijay put so much effort into a role that ultimately did not seem to fit him well. Sakthi When you think of disasters in Telugu cinema, 'Sakthi' is often the first film that comes to mind. Its director, Meher Ramesh, is still playfully criticized by NTR fans. Viewers questioned how Tarak (NTR ) agreed to the script after just the first show. Criticisms also targeted the flashback scenes, noting that Tarak's look was completely unsuitable. The same director's film 'Shadow' with Venkatesh also ended up as a disaster. Interestingly, 'Shakthi' was still being mentioned during the release of Meher Ramesh's recent film 'Bhola Shankar'. Saleem 'Saleem', featuring Manchu Vishnu and Ileana D'Cruz, stands out as one of the notable failures in Telugu cinema. Manchu Vishnu notably slimmed down for his role in the film. Critics remarked that the movie appeared to be a jumble of four to five different film scripts combined. OTT Releases / Web Series 35 Chinna Katha Kaadu Starring prominent actress Nivetha Thomas, '35 Chinna Katha Kaadu' is an emotional comedy drama directed by Nanda Kishore Imani. With Priyadarshi, Vishwadev Rachakonda, and Gauthami playing important roles, the film released in theaters on September 6 to positive reviews and is set to entertain this weekend on OTT. Starting October 2, it will be available on Aha. Blink  A Kannada science fiction film 'Blink', starring Deekshith Shetty of 'Dasara' fame, streamed on Amazon Prime in May. Recently, the Telugu version became available. From September 30, it will stream on Aha, offering a unique narrative on time travel. Kalinga  The latest film 'Kalinga', featuring Dhruva Vayu who also directed, stars Pragya Nayan as the heroine. The series stars Vaibhav Reddy, Charan Peri, Ritika Singh, and Akanksha Singh in leading roles and began streaming on SonyLIV from September 12. Let’s delve into this review to see if 'Bench Life' is another hit in Niharika's account. What’s the Story? Balu (Vaibhav Reddy), Ravi (Charan Peri), and Meenakshi (Ritika Singh) are employees at a prominent software company and also good friends. Vaibhav, as Balu, delivers a commendable performance, generating plenty of laughs with his comedic timing. Akanksha Singh, as his love interest, played her part well, captivating as a reserved young woman unable to express her inner feelings. The highlight of the series might be said to be the duo Charan Peri and Nayan Sarika, whose performances along with their scenes together are highly entertaining. Ritika fits perfectly into the role of Meenakshi, a young woman struggling to break free from an unsatisfying job to pursue her dreams of directing. Tulasi justly fulfills her role, while Rajendra Prasad once again charms with his comedic timing and emotional delivery. Tanikella Bharani, though in a brief role, makes a significant impact at a crucial moment in the story. Niharika Konidela, Sangith Shoban, and Venkat make memorable appearances in guest roles. How Was the Direction? Director Manasa Sharma has crafted the series in a way that connects well with the youth, particularly software employees, developing each character with a purposeful arc. The finale provided for the characters of Charan Peri and Nayan Sarika is particularly well-done. However, the endings given to Ritika Singh and Akanksha Singh's characters feel overly cinematic and lack naturalness. The comedy track between Rajendra Prasad and Vaibhav Reddy is a significant plus, as are the sentimental scenes involving Rajendra Prasad and Nayan Sarika. Overall, director Manasa Sharma has earned commendable marks, though the coarse language used by Vaibhav and the series’ appeal primarily to IT professionals could be seen as drawbacks. Technically... On the technical front, the cinematographer has done an excellent job presenting the software office environment effectively. The background music is also praiseworthy.
