Devara Runtime Sparks Debate: Is Koratala Siva Taking a Risk?
The movie 'Devara,' directed by Koratala Siva and starring NTR, is being released in two parts. Part 1 is set to release on the 27th of this month. Recently, the censor formalities for 'Devara' were completed, and the movie's runtime has been fixed by the censor board members. The lengthy runtime has sparked new tensions among fans, with comments circulating online questioning if the Devara team is knowingly taking a risk. Let's explore the reasons behind this.
Censor Clear
The movie 'Devara,' starring Jr. NTR and Bollywood beauty Janhvi Kapoor as the heroine, has completed its censor formalities. The censor board has issued a U/A certificate and fixed the film’s duration at 2 hours and 57 minutes. This means Devara is nearly three hours long, a substantial runtime. However, due to the extensive action sequences and the need to establish the story, the makers have decided on a longer duration.
Are They Knowingly Taking a Risk?
Film analysts opine that bringing 'Devara' with almost three hours of runtime is a significant risk. Keeping the audience engaged for three hours is not trivial. Any lag in the story or unnecessary scenes could negatively impact the film, as evidenced by several previous releases. Even if the story is compelling, the lengthy runtime has hurt those films. Therefore, there's a warning that even slight miscalculations in 'Devara' could lead to significant setbacks. Some of Tarak's fans are also expressing concerns about the runtime online.
Films Hurt by Long Run Times!
Recent releases like 'Bharateeyudu2', 'Tiger Nageswara Rao', and 'Ante Sundaraniki' came to the audience with longer durations and received flop talks. Apart from 'Bharateeyudu 2', the other two films had good content but failed to impress due to the extended duration. In 'Tiger Nageswara Rao', even though Ravi Teja delivered a strong performance, the length made it feel dragged. The same happened with 'Ante Sundaraniki', which despite a unique concept about the problems arising in a romance between individuals of different faiths, was criticized for feeling like a serial due to its length.
The Burden on Koratala!
If Koratala Siva can work his magic as he did in his past films, then the runtime might not be an issue. If he perfectly blends Tarak’s acting with the story, narrative, and production, the runtime of 'Devara' could turn into a big plus. Observing Koratala Siva's previous works like 'Mirchi', 'Bharat Ane Nenu', 'Janatha Garage', and 'Srimanthudu', one can appreciate his directorial skills. He has been successful in creating compelling drama and screenplay around simple storylines. If 'Devara' can repeat this magic, fans have a reason to rejoice. His recent works and past successes suggest that if 'Devara' can maintain this magic, it will be unstoppable.
Rajamouli's Flop Fear!
Another fear accompanying 'Devara' is the alleged curse following actors who work with the legendary director Rajamouli, experiencing massive flops in their subsequent films. This pattern was noted with Ravi Teja, Prabhas, and Ram Charan. Despite hits like 'Student No.1' and 'Simhadri', Tarak’s films post those were disasters, like 'Subbu' and 'Andhrawala', leaving indelible marks on his career. Given that Tarak's last film 'RRR' was under Rajamouli's direction, there’s apprehension about 'Devara'. Fans are anxious whether this sentiment will repeat, yet there's hope that 'Devara' will break this pattern.

HBD Anushka Shetty: Her Unexpected Crush Will Surprise You – It’s Not Who You Think!
Is there a heroine in the South who has earned the kind of craze that heroes have? Yes, Anushka Shetty comes to mind immediately. Anushka has made a name for herself in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam industries by acting alongside leading heroes and excelling in lady-oriented films. Today is Anushka's birthday, stepping into her 43rd year. Let's explore some interesting aspects of her career.
Anushka, hailing from a prominent Tulu family, never thought she would become an actress. It was circumstances that led her into acting, she says.
Anushka graduated from Mount Carmel College in Bangalore, which is also the alma mater of star heroines like Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma, and Mamta Mohandas.
During her college days, Anushka attended a meditation workshop called 'Tapasya' even though she wasn’t particularly interested in it; she went because her father, Vittal Shetty, attended it.

Anushka Shetty was trained in yoga by her mentor Bharat Thakur, and later chose to make it her profession. She even conducted yoga sessions in Mumbai for a while.
While she was busy as a yoga teacher, Anushka seized the opportunity to act in the Tollywood film 'Super' directed by Puri Jagannadh, starring King Akkineni Nagarjuna.
View this post on Instagram A post shared by AnushkaShetty (@anushkashettyofficial)
Interestingly, Anushka Shetty’s real name is Sweety. She felt uncomfortable when everyone on the set of 'Super' called her Sweety.
Thus, she decided to change her name to Anushka Shetty, which required waiting for a year for her family's approval.

Anushka Shetty is one of the tallest actresses in Tollywood, standing at 5 feet 9 inches. When she speaks on stage, some of our heroes appear shorter than her.
Whenever Anushka is stressed about something, she engages in an interesting activity to overcome it. She reads her favorite proverbs, which she claims helps her relax immediately, she revealed in an interview.
Anushka Shetty is very punctual and takes her meals on time, which she says greatly benefits her health.
She completes her dinner by 8 PM, which helps her sleep well. She also starts her day with yoga before 7 AM, Sweety revealed her secret.
This yoga beauty, Anushka, enjoys writing poetry in English and has a habit of collecting newspapers related to environmental issues.
Before the movie 'Size Zero,' Anushka was quite slim, but she gained a lot of weight for the role. She has been trying to lose weight since, but the effects still linger.
Unlike most heroines who have a crush on heroes, Anushka Shetty's first crush was cricketer Rahul Dravid, she revealed in an interview.
Sweety has been a fan of Rahul Dravid even before she entered films but lamented that she never really got to meet him.
'Arundhati' was a turning point in Anushka's film career. Its success established her as a leading heroine in Tollywood.
Following that, she starred in hit films like 'Rudhramadevi,' 'Baahubali,' 'Baahubali 2,' and 'Bhaagamathie,' which enhanced her fame.
Anushka revealed in an interview that the offer for 'Arundhati' did not come directly to her. It was only after another actress rejected it that it came her way, though she didn't reveal who the actress was.
Many might not know, but Anushka has released a book with her fitness secrets. 'The Magic Weight Loss Pill' by Luke Coutinho features 62 health tips and weight loss techniques Anushka swears by.
Currently, under the direction of Krish, Anushka is filming for 'Ghaati.' In celebration of her birthday today, the first look poster was released this morning, showing Sweety with blood on her hand and head, smoking a cigar.
At 4:05 PM, the movie team also released a special glimpse of 'Ghaati,' showcasing Anushka in a fierce mass elevation scene, chopping off someone's peak with a machete.

Anirudh's Tollywood Takeover: A New Challenge for Thaman and Devi Sri?
Anirudh Ravichander is currently creating waves in the South Indian music scene. Originating from Kollywood, this music sensation has gained immense popularity through movies like 'Raghuvaram B.Tech', 'Vikram', 'Jailer', and 'Beast'. His presence guarantees significant hype for the movies. Particularly among the youth, Anirudh's songs and background scores resonate well. Recently, he also delivered a stunning soundtrack for the film 'Devara' starring Tarak, reinforcing the trust placed in him. Although Anirudh has primarily focused on Kollywood until now, it seems he is shifting his focus to Tollywood, sparking discussions about the challenges this poses to local music directors.
A Craze in Telugu Cinema!
The young music sensation Anirudh has a strong following in Telugu cinema as well. He has directly worked on Telugu films like 'Agnyaathavaasi', 'Jersey', 'Gang Leader', and 'UTurn'. While his music in these films was a hit, there wasn't much discussion about Anirudh in Tollywood. However, with recent films like 'Vikram', 'Jailer', and 'Jawan', his reputation has soared to a Pan-India level. The youth are particularly enamored with his background music. These films being dubbed in Telugu also meant that Anirudh’s music was thoroughly enjoyed by the Telugu audience, who listened to his songs on repeat. Due to the demand from NTR's fans, Anirudh was also brought into the 'Devara' project, as recently disclosed by the makers.
A Series of Offers in Tollywood!
Following the success of 'Devara', Anirudh's name is being increasingly heard in Tollywood. Telugu audiences are eager to experience his music in theaters once again. Noticing this interest, Telugu filmmakers are showing a keen desire to work with Anirudh. Observing the reception in Telugu cinema, Anirudh has decided to amp up his involvement in Tollywood projects. Reportedly, he has given the green light to 'VD12', a project in collaboration with Vijay Deverakonda and Gowtam Tinnanuri, and has also agreed to score music for an upcoming film by Nani and Srikanth Odela. Other directors are also reaching out to Anirudh for their movies, with talks suggesting he might take on up to half a dozen Telugu projects in the coming days.
A Challenge for Thaman and Devi Sri?
Music directors Thaman and Devi Sri Prasad have been the top choices in Tollywood for the past few years, typically scoring music for five to eight out of every ten releases. They have been the first two preferences for Telugu directors. However, analysts believe that with Anirudh’s entry, both face stiff competition. Until recently, Anirudh had not prioritized Tollywood, but now that he is focusing on Telugu films, it poses a significant challenge to them. It remains to be seen how Thaman and Devi Sri will fare against the wave of Anirudh's mania.
If These Click, Stopping Them is Tough!
Thaman is currently composing for a film Game Changer directed by Shankar starring Ram Charan. The songs 'Jaragandi Jaragandi' and 'Ra Macha Macha' have already been released to a positive response. Similarly, Thaman is also scoring for Pawan Kalyan's 'OG', and the song 'Hungry Cheetah' has thrilled Pawan's fans. Meanwhile, Thaman has been chosen as the music director for 'Akhanda 2', a sequel directed by Boyapati featuring Balakrishna. On the other hand, Devi Sri Prasad is handling the music for 'Pushpa 2'. The title song and 'Suseki Aggiravva Madiri' from 'Pushpa' have already amassed millions of views on YouTube. If these projects succeed, it could be tough for anyone to challenge Thaman and Devi Sri’s dominance in the industry.

Nayanthara's Bold Stand: Praises Mega Stars, Slams Dhanush in Netflix Documentary Buzz!
Tamil actress Nayanthara has established herself as the Lady Superstar. She has gained recognition not just in Tamil cinema but across languages like Telugu and Hindi, achieving a pan-India presence. Recently, a documentary on her life, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale, premiered on Netflix. In connection with this documentary, Nayanthara recently criticized Tamil star Dhanush, making it a nationwide topic of discussion. Meanwhile, she also showered praise on Tollywood stars, father-son duo Megastar Chiranjeevi and Mega Power Star Ram Charan, which has garnered attention in the film industry.
"I Deeply Respect Them"
Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale started streaming on Netflix on November 18. Reflecting on the creation of this documentary and her 20-year-long career, Nayanthara expressed gratitude to those who supported her. She specifically thanked Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan, along with Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan, in a heartfelt Instagram post. Additionally, she mentioned Shah Rukh's wife, Gauri Khan, as well as notable personalities from the Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil industries. What Sparked the Dispute with Dhanush?
In 2015, Nayanthara starred in Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, directed by her now-husband Vignesh Shivan, with Dhanush as the producer. The movie brought many fond memories to Nayanthara, including significant acclaim as an actress and the love of her life. She wanted to highlight this film in her documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale. For this, she sought Dhanush’s permission to use content related to the film. However, after two years of no response, Dhanush sent legal notices over the use of three seconds of footage from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in the documentary’s promo. This enraged Nayanthara, prompting her to write an open letter criticizing Dhanush. She expressed heartbreak over his actions, urging him to show kindness not just in words but through actions.

Mahesh Supports Nayanthara!
Amid the controversy between Dhanush and Nayanthara, superstar Mahesh Babu recently expressed his thoughts on the documentary. Reports suggest Mahesh was impressed by the love story between Nayanthara and Vignesh featured in Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale. He shared the documentary’s poster, featuring Nayanthara, Vignesh, and their twin boys, on his Instagram story, adding three heart emojis. This post quickly went viral, surprising many given the ongoing dispute between Dhanush and Nayanthara. Fans were also intrigued, as Mahesh and Nayanthara have never worked together in a film. Whether they will pair up on-screen in the future remains to be seen.

The Lady Superstar on a Roll!
Nayanthara is soaring high in her film career. Last year, she joined the ₹1000 crore club with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. She also impressed audiences as Annapoorani in a lady-oriented film. Currently, she is busy with five exciting projects, including Test, Mannanngatti Since 1960, Thani Oruvan 2, and Mookuthi Amman 2 in Tamil. In Malayalam, she is working on Dear Students. All these films are in various stages of production and are expected to release by the end of this year or early next year. On the personal front, Nayanthara tied the knot with director Vignesh Shivan in 2022, in the presence of their families. The couple has twin boys born through surrogacy.

Prabhas: Prabhas-Anushka Pair Back in the Spotlight… Why?
When it comes to the best on-screen pair in Tollywood, Prabhas and Anushka often top the list. Their chemistry has garnered a dedicated fan base, with fans frequently posting on social media wishing for them to get married. Though such rumors circulated for some time, they were eventually dismissed as unfounded. Currently, Prabhas is busy with Raja Saab while Anushka, also known as “Sweety,” is occupied with her film Ghaati. Recently, special posters were released on Prabhas’ birthday for Raja Saab and on Anushka’s birthday for Ghaati, sparking online discussions as fans noticed striking similarities between the two posters.
With a Cigar in Hand…
In Ghaati, where Anushka plays the female lead, she is shown in a rugged, intense look with blood on her face, smoking a cigar, surrounded by smoke. Interestingly, Prabhas’ recent Raja Saab poster also depicted him in a similar getup, holding a cigar in his mouth with a smoky effect. Fans have taken to social media, placing both posters side by side and tagging them as “King and Queen,” calling for a new film featuring the two together.
https://twitter.com/subhaashiniii/status/1854377730575397055
A Fierce Anushka
On Thursday morning, the makers of Ghaati released the first look of Anushka’s character, followed by a solid teaser in the evening. Unlike her previous films, Anushka appears more violent and intense, shown mercilessly decapitating someone while looking in a bus mirror. In the teaser, she is seen calmly smoking a cigar with blood-covered hands after the brutal act. This powerful role brings back memories of her impactful performances in films like Vedam and Arundhati, where she showcased her ability to take on strong, intense roles.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5FkYULk3Ls
All Hopes Pinned on Ghaati
Anushka, once a leading star in the industry, is currently facing challenges in her career, with fewer opportunities alongside major stars. Although her recent film Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty received positive feedback, it didn’t achieve the kind of success fans expected for her. Therefore, Ghaati is a crucial project for Anushka as she aims to re-establish her position in the industry. Similarly, Ghaati’s director Krish is also relying on this project for a comeback after the shelving of Hari Hara Veera Mallu.
Prabhas’ Upcoming Projects
Prabhas currently has a packed lineup of pan-India projects. Along with Raja Saab, he is working with Sandeep Reddy Vanga on Spirit, Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2, Prashanth Neel’s Salaar 2, and Hanu Raghavapudi’s Fauji. He also has a special role in Manchu Vishnu’s ambitious project Kannappa. Recently, Prasanth Varma, known for HanuMan, reportedly narrated a story to Prabhas that he was highly interested in. Furthermore, discussions are ongoing for projects with Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj and Bollywood’s Rajkumar Hirani. With these diverse ventures, Prabhas’ career is on an unstoppable rise.

ANR 100th Birth Anniversary: Celebrating Akkineni Nageswara Rao, the Pioneer of Dance in Tollywood
Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), one of the foundational pillars of Tollywood, needs no special introduction. Recognized as a Dadasaheb Phalke Award recipient, Padma Vibhushan, and Natasamrat, he left an indelible mark on the industry. Born on September 20, 1924, as his centenary completes today, fans globally are celebrating his 100th birth anniversary. Although widely known as a legendary actor, not everyone is aware that he was also an excellent dancer. In fact, he was the one who introduced dance to Tollywood, a fact that might be unknown to this generation. Let’s delve into this special report to learn more about it.
[toc]
The Pioneer of Dance in Tollywood
Looking back to the early days of Tollywood, dance was not a primary focus when the industry first began. Leading actors were not keen on dancing; their focus was entirely on how to act and express emotions to captivate the audience. This was particularly noticeable between the 1960s and 1970s. When heroines danced, heroes would often just stand by, a point of criticism at the time. However, Akkineni Nageswara Rao completely changed these dynamics. While many associate Tollywood dance primarily with Megastar Chiranjeevi, it was Nageswara Rao who laid the groundwork for dance in the industry, making it an essential skill for heroes, matching and even excelling alongside heroines in dance. At one point, seeing Nageswara Rao’s dance, contemporaries like Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, Superstar Krishna, Shobhan Babu, and Krishnam Raju also began to emphasize dance in their films.
Audiences Mesmerized by Akkineni's Steps!
In the 1971 film 'Dasara Bullodu', ANR’s performance in the song ‘Ettage Unnadi Olammi’ was mesmerizing. Similarly, in 'Bangaru Babu', his dance to 'Chengavi Rangu Cheera' electrified audiences who, until then, primarily enjoyed songs for their auditory appeal. Specifically, his dance in 'Prem Nagar' for the song ‘Nenu Puttanu Lokam Navvindi’ became a trendsetter. Additionally, his competitive dance with Sridevi in 'Premabhishekam' for the song 'Ne Kallu Chebuthunnayi' delighted everyone. He also matched steps with Megastar Chiranjeevi in the film 'Mechanic Alludu'. There’s a long list of such performances, some of which are linked below for a glimpse into his prowess.

Inspired by Nageswara Rao...
Even Megastar Chiranjeevi, known for his dance, was inspired by Nageswara Rao at one point. It’s said that Chiru enhanced the importance of dance in films after watching Nageswara Rao’s movies. In an event, Chiranjeevi made interesting remarks about ANR's influence, noting that after watching Chiru’s dance, one might wonder if his body actually had any bones at all. Over the decades, as Chiranjeevi became a peerless hero in acting and dancing, he carried forward the legacy initiated by Nageswara Rao, which now continues with stars like Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, NTR, and Ram Pothineni.

Interesting Post by Balakrishna
On the occasion of ANR's 100th birth anniversary, actor Balakrishna posted a touching tribute, expressing pride in remembering Nageswara Rao. He noted that ANR's iconic roles and invaluable contributions to Telugu cinema are unforgettable and serve as a guiding light to all actors. Balakrishna urged everyone to express their gratitude for the immense services ANR provided to the film industry, from theater to cinema. His journey is an inspiration to all.
