Krishna Vamsi Sparks Debate: Can Samantha or Sai Pallavi Match Soundarya’s Iconic Role in 'Anthahpuram'?
Creative director Krishna Vamsi once meant a festive atmosphere in theaters with his films. Throughout his career, he has directed many super hit films, among which Anthahpuram stands as a milestone. In this film, the late actress Soundarya played the female lead, captivating audiences with her performance, which garnered widespread acclaim. Currently, Krishna Vamsi is quite active on platform X, engaging intriguingly with netizens' questions. During this interaction, when asked by a netizen which current actress could replace Soundarya in Anthahpuram, Krishna Vamsi's response has gone viral.
What did Krishna Vamsi say?
The film Anthahpuram, featuring Soundarya, Sai Kumar, Prakash Raj, and Jagapathi Babu, was a massive success at the box office. Soundarya delivered an outstanding performance as a mother protecting her child from her cruel uncle. When a netizen on X asked Krishna Vamsi which of today’s actresses could fit into Anthahpuram, he replied, "I can’t imagine anyone replacing Soundarya. However, today's actresses are very talented and mesmerizing with their performances. I respect them." The netizen then queried whether Nivetha Thomas or Shraddha Kapoor would be suitable, to which Krishna Vamsi opined that Samantha and Sai Pallavi could be perfect for Soundarya’s role. This post is now trending wildly online, with fans of Samantha and Sai Pallavi making it go viral.
Can They Replace Soundarya?
Star heroine Samantha is recognized not only as a glamour beauty but also as a talented actress. She won an award for Best Actress with her first film, 'Ye Maaya Chesave'. Following that, she proved her acting skills in films like 'Manam', 'A Aa', 'U Turn', 'Jaanu', 'Yashoda', 'Shaakuntalam', and 'Oh! Baby'. Sai Pallavi's acting skills need no special mention. With films like Premam, Fidaa, Love Story, Shyam Singha Roy, Virata Parvam, and Gargi, she has demonstrated unmatched acting prowess. Netizens believe these star heroines could do justice to Soundarya’s role in Anthahpuram.
Director with Two National Awards
Director Krishna Vamsi, originally Pasupuleti Venkata Bangarraju, started his career as an assistant director under Ram Gopal Varma. He made his directorial debut in 1995 with the film 'Gulabi', starring JD Chakravarthy. He directed successful films like 'Anthahpuram', 'Chandrallekha', 'Ninne Pelladutha', Murari, Khadgam, Sri Anjaneyam, Rakhi, Chandamama, and Mahatma. Recently, he directed 'Rangamarthanda', a film that touched the hearts of audiences. Throughout his career, Krishna Vamsi has received two National Film Awards, three Filmfare Awards South, and four Nandi Awards.

Gorre Puranam Review: A Quirky Tale Where the Goat Steals the Show!
Cast: Suhas, Vishika Kot, Posani Krishna Murali, Raghu Karumanchi, and others
Director: Bobby Varma
Music: Pavan CH
Cinematographer: Suresh Sarangam
Editor: Vamsi Krishna Ravi
Producer: Prashanth Mandava
Release Date: 21-09-2024
Tollywood's young actor Suhas has become synonymous with diverse films. Continuing his trend of intriguing Telugu audiences with unique storylines, Suhas stars in another innovative film, 'Gorre Puranam' directed by Bobby Varma. Notably, director Tharun Bhascker provides the voiceover for the goat. Released on September 21, how does this film fare? Did it captivate the audience or not? Let's find out in this review.
What's the Story?
Ravi (Suhas) ends up in jail for committing a murder. Meanwhile, a Muslim man buys a goat to make biryani for his family, but it escapes. In an attempt to catch the goat, the Muslim man and several others chase after it. The goat takes refuge in a village temple where it accidentally gets drunk and is captured by Hindus who want to sacrifice it. This incident catches the media's eye, escalating religious tensions, leading to the police arresting the goat. It is kept in the same cell as Ravi. Why did Ravi commit murder? What is the connection between Ravi’s crime and the goat? Who tried to kill the goat in jail? To find out, one must watch the movie.
How Did They Perform?
Suhas's role is brief in the film, but he captivates with his natural acting prowess. The goat appears on screen longer than the human actors, with Tharun Bhascker’s voiceover adding a comedic touch. Comedian Getup Sreenu also provides a voice for the goat. Other actors like comedian Raghu and Jenny, though in brief roles, significantly impact the story.
How's the Direction?
Director Bobby Varma’s effort to cast a goat as a principal character is commendable. He cleverly narrates where the goat’s story began, what it desires, and its purpose, while infusing the film with sharp satire targeting people, politicians, and the media. While entertaining, the director also makes the audience think. The development of Suhas’s character is well executed. However, the director falters in connecting why he committed murder and planned further killings. The lack of commercial elements and ineffective emotional scenes are drawbacks of the film.
Technically Speaking
Technically, the cinematography is a significant plus. The background score suits the film well, and the editing is adequate. The production values are high, showing no compromise in spending.
Plus Points
- Suhas’s acting
- Story and narration
- Dialogues
Minus Points
- Lack of commercial elements
- Ineffective emotional scenes

Guntur Kaaram' Redemption: Mahesh Babu's Film Becomes Cult Hit After OTT Release Despite Initial Criticism
The film 'Guntur Kaaram', featuring the combination of Mahesh Babu and Trivikram, was released this Sankranti but did not achieve the expected level of success. Despite decent box office collections, the film initially received a significant amount of negative feedback. Recently, the producer Nagavamshi spoke about 'Guntur Kaaram', suggesting that promoting it as a mass film was a mistake and that it would have fared better if marketed as a class movie. These remarks have gone viral online, thrusting 'Guntur Kaaram' into trending discussions. Netizens are comparing its treatment to that of previous films like 'Athadu' and 'Khaleja', claiming it was unfairly criticized.
What did Nagavamshi say?
In a recent interview, producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi made some intriguing comments about 'Guntur Kaaram'. When asked if the film was commercially successful, he confirmed that 'Guntur Kaaram' was a commercial hit, except for some losses in the Nizam region. He noted that its release during Sankranti, a time when many people travel to their hometowns, might have affected its revenues. Nagavamshi admitted that the film may not have met audience expectations and that naming it 'Guntur Kaaram' might have been a mistake since a mass title for a family film could be misleading. He also speculated that scheduling the film for a late-night show might have been another error. A video of these comments is currently going viral.

Outrage Over a Flopped Cult Classic!

On social media, users are expressing their opinions, noting that they hadn't rewatched another film released during the same Sankranti, unlike 'Guntur Kaaram', which they saw multiple times on both OTT and TV. One user criticized the Telugu film industry's failure, while another praised Mahesh Babu's one-man show. As a result, 'Guntur Kaaram' is being widely discussed online under the hashtag #GunturKaaram, with fans sharing their favorite scenes from the movie.

Why Only Mahesh-Trivikram Movies?
So far, three films have been made by the Mahesh-Trivikram combo. Earlier releases 'Athadu' and 'Khaleja' received mixed reviews and did not achieve significant commercial success. However, they particularly captivated the television audience, achieving high TRPs during their TV premieres. These films have instilled a sense of injustice among fans. The same is happening with 'Guntur Kaaram'. Surprisingly, films that were not noticed much in theaters are receiving accolades on OTT and TV. The film circles are puzzled about why this pattern is recurrent with Mahesh-Trivikram films.

Niharika Konidela's 'Committee Kurrollu': A Vibrant Tapestry of Love, Politics, and Village Festivities
Cast: Sandeep Saroj, Yashwant Pendyala, Eshwar Rachiraju, Trinath Varma, Prasad Behara, Tina Shravya, Radya Suresh, Tejashwi Rao, Saikumar
Director: Yadhu Vamsi
Music: Anudeep Dev
Cinematographer: Raju Eduroulu
Editor: Anwar Ali
Producer: Niharika Konidela
Release Date: 09-08-2024
Niharika Konidela’s latest production, 'Committee Kurrollu,' has been released. The film features lead roles by Sandeep Saroj, Yaswanth Pendyala, Eshwar Rachiraju, Trinath Varma, and Prasad Behara, with Sai Kumar, Goparaju Raman, and others in significant roles. Directed by Yadhu Vamsi, the film hit theaters on August 9. Let's find out how the film has been received, if it has captivated audiences, and if it has brought success to producer Niharika Konidela in this review.
Plot
In Purushottampalli village of Godavari district, the Bharinkaalammatalli Jatra is celebrated once every 12 years. This festival, known as 'Bali Cheta,' holds great significance. This time, the festival coincides with the local Panchayat elections, prompting Sarpanch Polisetty Bujji (Sai Kumar) to face competition from Shiva (Sandeep Saroj), who decides to enter the fray. A tragedy at the festival 12 years ago, which resulted in the death of one of Shiva’s friends due to a caste conflict, leads to a resolution in the Panchayat to halt all election campaigning until the festival concludes. What happens next? How does the issue of reservations disrupt Shiva's gang? Did the friends who separated 12 years ago reunite? What role does Sarpanch Polisetty Bujji play? Did Shiva win the election as Sarpanch?
Performances
In this film, 11 young actors play the lead roles. Sandeep Saroj as Shiva, Trinath Varma as Subbu, Eshwar Rachiraju as William, and Yashwant Pendyala as Surya have all made commendable efforts to engage the audience with their distinct performances. The acting experience of Sai Kumar, Goparaju Raman, and Kancherapalem Kishore adds depth to the story. Prasad Behara's performance as the elder is captivating; he brings much humor to the comedic scenes and deep emotion to the dramatic ones. The other cast members have also performed commendably within their roles.
Direction
Director Yadhu Vamsi navigates the storyline set in the 90s, delicately touching upon the sensitive topic of reservations in society. The screenplay attempts to weave together friendship, love, caste issues, and politics. The dialogues, written in the local dialect of Godavari, and the vividly crafted festival scenes are particularly engaging. The first half progresses swiftly with typical Godavari-style comedy, and the interval builds intrigue. In the second half, the focus shifts more towards emotional scenes, though it feels slower compared to the first half. The scenes leading up to the climax offer a satirical take on today's political leaders. The love stories in the film are left somewhat unresolved, the resolution of the reservations issue is abruptly concluded, and some scenes feel unnecessarily stretched, which could be seen as drawbacks.
Technically
On the technical front, Anudeep Dev’s music stands out as a highlight of the film, especially the background score during the festival scenes. Cinematographer Raju’s camera work is commendable. The editing is adequate. The production values are high, showing that Niharika Konidela did not compromise on the budget.
Plus Points
- Story setting
- Godavari style comedy
- Festival scenes
Minus Points
- Slow-paced narration
- Incomplete love narratives
- Abrupt handling of the reservations issue

NTR's 'Devara' Sets New Records Even Before Release: First Indian Film to Achieve This Feat
The entire nation is eagerly waiting for the film, directed by Koratala Siva and starring Young Tiger NTR. It is set for a grand worldwide release on September 27. The movie features Janhvi Kapoor alongside Tarak, and Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan as the antagonist. With NTR playing a dual role, expectations are sky-high. Even before its release, Devara is breaking records and has now achieved another milestone. It has become the first Indian film to accomplish this feat.
Unique Achievement in Two Countries
Currently, ‘Devara’ is trending on social media. Having already broken several records, this action drama has now set another milestone. It has created a new record in Australia and New Zealand. ‘Devara’ has become the first Indian film to be showcased with the highest number of Dolby Atmos shows in these two countries. The film will be released on 13 screens in Australia and 3 screens in New Zealand. Recently, Devara also set a record in North America’s pre-sale tickets, becoming the fastest Indian film to hit the 1 million dollar mark in pre-sales.
Baahubali-Level Climax
NTR recently stated that the last 40 minutes of ‘Devara’ would be the highlight of the movie, raising expectations. The film’s cinematographer, Ratnavelu, made an interesting comment about the movie’s climax, comparing it to Baahubali. He mentioned that it would be an unforgettable experience. This comment has gone viral. Meanwhile, Ratnavelu also addressed some fake news regarding the movie, clarifying that the rumors about Tarak playing three roles are untrue.
Nagavamsi’s Request to Fans
Producer Nagavamsi, one of the distributors of ‘Devara,’ made a request to the fans on social media platform X. He urged fans to put an end to the fan wars with this movie. Dulquer Salmaan's Rapid Rise in Tollywood: A New Competitor for Tier-2 Heroes
Renowned hero Dulquer Salmaan has carved a unique identity for himself in the South Indian film industry. As the heir of Malayalam cinema legend Mammootty, Dulquer has quickly established his own separate fan base within a short period. Proving himself a worthy son with his remarkable acting skills, he has also made significant inroads into Tollywood, gaining a solid fan following. However, it appears that Dulquer is now shifting his focus entirely towards the Telugu industry. Announcing back-to-back projects in Telugu, he seems ready to give stiff competition to Tier-2 heroes like Ram, Vijay Deverakonda, Naga Chaitanya, and Nithiin.
Dulquer as a Rising Hero in Tollywood!
With just two or three films, young hero Dulquer Salmaan has managed to achieve star hero status in Tollywood. His role as Gemini Ganesan in the Telugu film 'Mahanati', directed by Nag Ashwin, impressed everyone. His exceptional performance mesmerized the Telugu audience. Following this, he captivated viewers as a hero in the film 'Sita Ramam'. Playing a soldier, a lover, and a prisoner in an enemy country, his diverse performances have won the hearts of Telugu cinema-goers. Recently, he played a significant role in 'Kalki 2898 AD' starring Prabhas, portrayed as a mentor who plays a critical role in Prabhas's life, akin to the mythical figure Parashurama. Rumors suggest that Dulquer will continue his role in 'Kalki 2'.
Recognition through Dubbed Films
In addition to direct Telugu films, several movies in which he acted in Tamil and Malayalam were dubbed into Telugu. Dulquer Salmaan's films, up to nine in number, have reached Telugu audiences. Movies directed by Mani Ratnam like 'Ok Bangaram', and those he starred in with Sai Pallavi like 'Hey Pillagada', and 'Andamaina Jeevitham' have greatly attracted the Telugu youth, giving them a feeling of kinship with Dulquer. Action films like 'Kurup', 'Salute', and 'King of Kotha' also gained good will among the mass audience. With this, Dulquer has evolved into a hero who embodies a blend of class and mass appeal in the Telugu film industry.
Aggression with New Projects
With his star hero status in Telugu, directors and producers in Tollywood are keen to work with Dulquer. Consequently, he is actively engaging in Tollywood projects with enthusiasm. He is currently working with director Venky Atluri in the film 'Lucky Bhaskar', set to release on October 31. Additionally, he has agreed to a Pan-India project titled 'Aakashamlo Oka Tara' under the direction of Pavan Sadineni, which has already generated interest with its first look poster showing Dulquer in a farmer’s role. Meanwhile, he has started a new project under Rana's production titled 'Kantha', where he will be seen alongside Tollywood's rising beauty Bhagyashree Borase. Set in the 1950s, Rana plays a key role in this film directed by Tamil director Selvamani Selvaraj.

Strong Competition for Tier-2 Heroes!
Given Dulquer Salmaan's momentum in Tollywood, it seems inevitable that he will pose strong competition to Tier-2 heroes like Ram, Vijay Deverakonda, Naga Chaitanya, and Nithiin. Film analysts believe that if at least two of his current three projects hit, his stature will significantly rise. With his classic looks and the capability to electrify action sequences, Dulquer is fast becoming a preferred choice for Telugu directors. Heroes suffering from a series of flops, like Naga Chaitanya, Ram, and Vijay Deverakonda, need to be cautious about the competition from Dulquer.

HBD Nagarjuna: Nagarjuna's Birthday Special- Daring Hero!
Entering the industry as the heir of the legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna has undertaken experiments that no other hero would dare to attempt. He fearlessly moved forward in his career with a variety of unique films, earning a distinct recognition in genres ranging from mass and class to spiritual and romantic. He successfully introduced his sons, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil, as the third generation from the Akkineni family into the industry. Behind Nagarjuna's success in the industry are some daring steps. Let's learn about them on the occasion of his birthday today (August 29).
'Siva' Sensation
Typically, early in their careers, most heroes opt for safe stories. However, Nagarjuna made a big impact with the experimental film 'Siva'. He took a significant risk by giving Ram Gopal Varma, who had never even been an assistant director, a chance to direct. This daring step turned his career around, creating a sensation with 'Siva' in a way no one anticipated. This film not only changed the trajectory of Nag's career but also altered the course of Tollywood, challenging the traditional perceptions of a hero's role with 'Siva'.
Diversity a Priority
With 'Siva', Nagarjuna became a top hero in the industry. While typically a single hit film would set a repetitive pattern in stories, Nagarjuna planned his career to ensure diversity in every film. This strategy led him to star in a supernatural heist film 'Govinda Govinda', a family drama 'Ninne Pelladatha', and an action entertainer 'Hello Brother', continually delighting his fans and establishing a dedicated fan base, thereby solidifying his status as a star hero.
'Annamayya'
At a time when peers like Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, and Venkatesh were dominating with commercial films, Nagarjuna shocked everyone by signing on to the devotional project 'Annamayya'. Already popular for his mass image, his decision to do a devotional film raised eyebrows within the industry. Committed to portraying diverse roles, Nagarjuna embraced the challenge without hesitation, delivering a performance in 'Annamayya' that became a landmark in his career. Directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, the film was a sensational success, capturing the true essence of Annamayya and earning two National Awards, nine Nandi Awards, and three Filmfare Awards.
More Spiritual Films
Following the success of 'Annamayya', Nagarjuna didn't stop there. While continuing to act in commercial films, he also starred in more devotional films. Films like 'Sri Ramadasu', 'Shirdi Sai', 'Om Namo Venkatesaya', and 'Jagadguru Adi Shankar' under the combination of Raghavendra Rao and Nagarjuna also achieved great success at the box office.
Opportunities for Newcomers
Nagarjuna has proven time and again that not only is giving chances to newcomers not a risk, but it can also lead to success. Throughout his extensive acting career, he has introduced around 40 directors to Tollywood. Directors like Ram Gopal Varma ('Siva'), YVS Chowdary (Sri Sita Ramula Kalyanam Chootamu Raarandi), Lawrence ('Mass'), and Vijay Binni ('Naa Saami Ranga') are included in this list. Nagarjuna often credits these new directors for playing a pivotal role in his stardom.
The First Pan-India Star from Telugu Cinema
Director Krishna Vamsi, in an interview, made interesting remarks about Nagarjuna, describing him as the hero who took Telugu cinema global. Nagarjuna brought directors from various industries and produced diverse films with his own money, significantly altering the audience's perspective. He worked with directors like Mani Ratnam, Priyadarshan, Ravichandran, and Mahesh Bhatt from Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and Tamil industries, becoming a true Pan-India foundation.

As the Host of Bigg Boss...
Unlike most stars who shy away from television, Nagarjuna embraced it. He has been hosting the Telugu Bigg Boss show for several years, entertaining the television audience with his charm. While younger heroes like NTR and Tarak hosted for only a season, Nagarjuna has been continuously hosting, completing five seasons (Bigg Boss 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) and is set to host the upcoming eighth season. He has also been notable as the host of the 'Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu' game show.

The Fitness Mantra
Even at the age of sixty, Nagarjuna's fitness level amazes the younger generation of heroes. Maintaining his physique from his 'Siva' days, he continues to give tough competition to younger heroes. Nagarjuna often shares that his secret to looking great is his calm demeanor and regular workouts. Having debuted as a hero in 1986 with 'Vikram', Nagarjuna has now acted in over a hundred films. Currently, he is working under the direction of Shekhar Kammula in 'Kubera'.

Polimera 3: Targeting Bollywood Audiences with ‘Polimera 3’.. Could It Be Another ‘Kantara’?
The film "Maa Oori Polimera" captivated Telugu audiences so thoroughly that its impact is widely recognized without further explanation. Quietly released on OTT during the pandemic, this film unexpectedly became a sensation. With its story set against a backdrop of black magic, it received a warm reception from viewers. Encouraged by this success, the producers launched its sequel, "Polimera 2," in theaters, which proved to be just as successful and profitable. Given this success, Dr. Anil Viswanath, the director of Polimera, has embarked on ambitious plans for the series. He announced that the third installment would be released on a pan-India scale.
On a National Level..
The horror thrillers "Polimera" and "Polimera 2" featured Satyam Rajesh, Kamakshi Bhaskarla, Baladitya, and Getup Srinu in leading roles. "Polimera 2," released in theaters last year, achieved significant box office success, breaking even within the first two days. In this context, the movie team recently announced the production of "Polimera 3" and also released a special poster. It is clear that the film is being made at a pan-India level and will be released in Telugu, Hindi, and other South Indian languages. Distributor Vamsi Nandipati is turning producer with "Polimera 3," and it is known that Bhogendra Gupta, the producer of the Polimera films, will serve as a co-producer.

Shooting Soon
Director Dr. Anil Viswanath has finished writing the script for "Polimera 3." Pre-production activities are currently advancing quickly, and the film unit plans to begin shooting soon, targeting an early release next year. Industry sources indicate that "Part 3" will surpass the first two installments in terms of spectacle, featuring even more twists and a compelling storyline.
Answers to the Puzzles in ‘Polimera 3’!
Director Anil Viswanath left several puzzles in "Polimera 2" that will be answered in "Polimera 3." The climax of "Polimera 2" showed Komurayya (Satyam Rajesh) discovering treasure through black magic in the temple cellar in Jastipalli. As he goes to meet his wife, Lakshmi (Kamakshi Bhaskarla) poisons him. Suddenly, actor Prithvi arrives and shoots Lakshmi on the forehead. Why did Prithvi do that? What did Komurayya do with the treasure? What was Komurayya’s brother Jangayya (Baladitya) searching for? These questions will be addressed in the third part.

Another ‘Kantara’?
Kannada actor Rishab Shetty's "Kantara," which he directed, became a nationwide sensation with little need for an introduction. Although "Kantara" and "Polimera" are set against village backdrops and feature different storylines, they share themes centered around unseen forces. "Kantara" explores divine power, while "Polimera" delves into black magic. Currently, there is a strong demand for films with unique content in the North. Analysts believe that "Polimera 3" has the potential to captivate Bollywood audiences by offering a fresh and distinctive experience. Consequently, "Polimera 3" is anticipated to make a significant impact at the pan-India level.

Devara Movie Review: : Jr. NTR’s Stellar Acting Overshadowed by an Uneven Narrative
Cast: NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Shruti Marathe, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, and others.
Written and Directed by: Koratala Siva
Music by: Anirudh Ravichander
Cinematography by: R. Rathnavelu
Editing by: A. Sreekar Prasad
Produced by: Sudhakar Mikkilineni, Kosaraju Harikrishna, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram
Release Date: September 27, 2024
NTR stars in an action drama 'Devara', directed by Koratala Siva, with Janhvi Kapoor as the heroine. NTR returns to dual roles after many years, portraying the characters of Devara and Vara. The promotional materials already released have heightened expectations. Saif Ali Khan plays the antagonist, with significant roles being filled by Prakash Raj, Srikanth, and Shine Tom Chacko. The movie has completed all its schedules and released worldwide on September 27. But how is the film? Does it meet the expectations? Has it impressed the audience or not? Let's find out in this review.
The Story
Located on a hill at the border between Andhra and Tamil Nadu are four villages collectively known as the Red Sea. Here, Devara (NTR) along with Bhairava (Saif Ali Khan), Rayappa (Srikanth), and Kunjara (Shine Tom Chacko) serve as the heads of each village. Their job involves smuggling goods through the sea to Murugan (Murali Sharma) without getting caught by authorities. However, realizing the damage caused, Devara decides to put an end to their smuggling activities. Bhairava disagrees, sparking a conflict between them. Devara instills deep fear in everyone. Bhairava then plans to kill Devara. Does his plan succeed? What pivotal decision does Devara make to stop the smuggling? Why does his son Vara (NTR) become fearful? Who kills Bhairava's men trying to enter the sea? How does Vara's romance with Thangam (Janhvi Kapoor) develop? What is Devara’s connection with gangster Yathi? Watch the movie to know.
Performances
There's no need to specifically mention Tarak's acting; he immerses himself in any role he takes. In this movie, too, he impresses as both Devara and Vara, bringing variations that captivate the audience. He reaffirms his prowess in action scenes and dazzles in dance sequences. Janhvi Kapoor, making her Tollywood debut, fits perfectly as the village girl Thangam, appearing authentic as a Telugu girl, though her screen time is brief. Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan captivates as the villain, making a strong impact in a role that competes with Tarak's. Srikanth, Prakash Raj, Ajay, Murali Sharma, Shruti, and others play significant roles, with other actors performing well within their limits.
Direction
Director Koratala Siva creates a new world named 'Red Sea' and attempts to weave drama and emotions in his unique style. The first half unfolds the story of the Red Sea, the characters Devara and Bhaira, their transformation into smugglers, their conflicts, songs, and the terror Devara instills, all showcased effectively by Koratala. The interval bang is also excellently planned. While the first half revolves around Devara, the second half introduces Vara. The entry of the second NTR is well-executed, but the story seems stretched afterwards. Janhvi Kapoor’s scenes feel forced, except for a song, and the rest seem tedious. The pre-climax action scenes inside the sea are spectacular, but the climax, while engaging, reminds one of the movie Baahubali. Koratala sets up for a part two, ending Devara's story. However, the second part lacks the impact of the first, with a weak love track, dragged scenes, predictable narrative, and missing the typical Koratala mark being the downsides.
Technically
On the technical front, all departments have performed well. Anirudh's background music is another major strength of the movie, enhancing the film with his distinctive BGM. The songs are good, with 'Chuttammalle' likely to generate whistles in theatres. Rathnavelu's cinematography is excellent, richly presenting each scene. Editing is decent. The production values are high, sparing no expense.
Plus Points
- NTR's performance
- First half
- Cinematography
- Music
Minus Points
- Second part
- Weak love track

Pawan Kalyan & Trivikram’s Political Thriller Before the 2029 Elections?
Producer Naga Vamshi, currently riding a wave of successes in Tollywood, has recently brought the film ‘Lucky Baskhar’ to audiences, which has turned into a major success and continues to gain positive reception. At a success meet celebrating this victory, Naga Vamshi shared some intriguing details, particularly about upcoming projects under his banner directed by Trivikram.
According to Naga Vamshi, after a disaster in 2018, two blockbuster films directed by Trivikram have delivered significant successes. Following these, preparations are underway for another major project with Trivikram, which will be a political thriller planned to hit screens before the 2029 elections.
The last film Trivikram directed with Pawan Kalyan was ‘Agnyaathavaasi,’ which unfortunately did not perform well at the box office. However, subsequent films featuring Pawan Kalyan, like ‘Bheemla Nayak’ and ‘Bro,’ continued under Trivikram’s guidance, raising audience expectations for a solid hit from their collaboration.
Plot Background
After Naga Vamshi's speech, there has been widespread curiosity about how the upcoming political thriller directed by Trivikram will unfold. Questions abound about how Pawan Kalyan will be portrayed and what powerful role he will play. The film might include aspects from Pawan Kalyan’s journey since 2014, the foundation of his Janasena Party, the 2019 election episode where Pawan Kalyan faced defeat, and the shortcomings of the Jagan government. The film is likely to majorly focus on Pawan Kalyan’s alliance with the TDP, the jail episode involving Chandrababu, and the strategic decisions taken by Pawan Kalyan.
Trivikram Srinivas, who has so far been confined to family, romance, and comedy genres, venturing into a political thriller has piqued great interest. However, details about the cast in this political thriller remain under wraps.
Given Pawan Kalyan's active political involvement, industry analysts believe this story aligns well with his current focus. Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan is busy with multiple film shoots.
Pawan Busy with Shooting
Pawan Kalyan is currently involved in the shooting of ‘OG,’ a project that had been postponed due to the AP elections. The shooting for ‘OG’ has recently resumed, with the movie team officially announcing that it is planned for release on October 25 next year. The shooting for ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’ has also started recently, with a massive set constructed in Vijayawada for this purpose. Pawan Kalyan is participating in this movie’s shooting, which the team plans to complete first before confirming the release date.
