This trend is evident across various film industries in India, including Bollywood, Tollywood, Kollywood, Mollywood, Bhojpuri, and Bengali cinema. Tollywood, in particular, stands out for having a significant number of its successful Telugu films remade into different languages each year. A prime example of this trend is 'Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana,' which holds the record for being remade into nine languages. This piece will explore Telugu movies that have been translated into at least three different languages. Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana The Telugu film 'Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana' (2005) holds the record for being the first Telugu film to be remade into nine languages. This film was adapted into seven Indian languages (Tamil, Kannada, Hindi, Odia, Manipuri, Punjabi, Bengali) and two foreign languages (Bangladeshi Bengali, Nepali). Directed by dance master Prabhudeva, this film, starring Siddharth, Trisha, and Srihari, was a blockbuster at the box office. Okkadu The Telugu film 'Okkadu', starring Mahesh Babu and directed by Gunasekhar, was remade into five languages. It found success in Tamil, Kannada, Bengali, Hindi, and Odia. In Tamil, the film was remade with star Vijay as 'Ghilli', and in Kannada, Puneeth Rajkumar starred as 'Ajay'. Maryada Ramanna Directed by SS Rajamouli, 'Maryada Ramanna' was remade into five languages. This film, starring Sunil, was successful in Kannada, Bengali, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam. Notably, Rajamouli directed the Hindi remake 'Son of Sardaar', featuring Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt, and Sonakshi Sinha. Varsham 'Varsham', starring Prabhas and Trisha in 2004 and directed by Sobhan, was also made in several languages. It was remade as 'My Darling' (2004) in Odia, 'Mazhai' (2005) in Tamil, and 'Baaghi' (2016) in Hindi, all achieving significant success. Darling Prabhas's 2010 romantic comedy 'Darling', directed by A. Karunakaran, was remade in Kannada as 'Bulbul' and in Hindi as 'Sabse Badhkar Hum', both versions enjoying success. A Bengali remake was planned but ultimately shelved. Vikramarkudu Ravi Teja's 'Vikramarkudu', directed by Rajamouli, was remade into six languages, including Kannada as 'Veer Madakari' (2009), Tamil as 'Siruthai' (2011), and Hindi as 'Rowdy Rathore' (2012), among others, achieving great success in each version. Mirchi Prabhas's 'Mirchi', directed by Koratala Siva, was remade into three languages: Kannada as 'Maanikya', Bengali as 'Bindaas', and Odia as 'Biswanath'. Although John Abraham acquired the Hindi rights, a remake has yet to be produced. Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule Venkatesh's film, directed by Selvaraghavan, was remade into five languages, including Tamil, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Kannada, and Odia, and was a hit in all the languages it was adapted into.

Continuing this legacy, the recent movie 'Adipurush was made to show the greatness of Ramyana to current generation. Additionally, there are Telugu films that, though not directly showcasing Ramayana's characters, subtly weave its narrative through commercial storytelling. These cinematic works aren't overtly linked to the Ramayana at first glance, requiring a deeper analysis to uncover their connections. YouSay highlights these films, exploring the embedded Ramayana influences within them. Dasara In the recent film 'Dasara' starring hero Nani, the Ramayana's influence is apparent, especially in the portrayal of villain characters reminiscent of Ravana. The villain, who sets his sights on the heroine, schemes to make her his own. Ultimately, the hero defeats him and restores peace to his wife and village. Performances Sundeep Kishan has justified his role as Basava and delivered his career-best performance. He brought emotional depth to every scene he's in. Varsha Bollamma, as Bhoomi, did okay, though her impact was less due to the weak scenes written for her character. Kavya Thapar looked beautiful in her role. The comedy timing of Vennela Kishore and Viva Harsha as a duo was engaging. Brahmaji also managed to evoke laughter. Ravi Shankar, Vadivukkarasi, Jayaprakash, and others performed well within the scope of their roles. Direction The world of Bhairavakona, created by director VI Anand from the story written by Bhanu Bogavarapu, is intriguing. The director successfully piqued the interest of the audience right from the beginning by showcasing the village. Despite the strong story, the narration failed in some parts. The interest generated in the introduction of the characters in Bhairavakona doesn't carry into the story. The romance between the lead characters and their relationship is shown in a rather straightforward manner. Though the interval bang raises expectations for the second half, the director couldn't maintain the momentum. The comedy by Vennela Kishore, Viva Harsha, and Brahmaji is a relief for the audience. Technically The technical team, led by director VI Anand, has delivered a good output. Shekar Chandra's music became a super hit before the movie's release, and the background score is also impressive. The cinematography and visual effects are commendable. Plot Viraj (Nani) is a fashion photographer in Mumbai and adores his daughter Mahi (Kiara). He entertains her with stories where he is the hero. One day, when Mahi asks for a story about her mother, Viraj hesitates. This leads Mahi to run away from home. During this, Mahi is saved from an accident by Yashna (Mrunal Thakur). While in a coffee shop, Viraj arrives searching for his daughter and finally tells her the mother's story. What is this story? Who is Varsha? What is the relationship between Yashna and Mahi's mother? How does Yashna fall in love with Viraj? These questions are answered in the film. Performances Nani once again captivates the audience with his performance, especially in the emotional scenes with his daughter. His portrayal of a father's desperation and sorrow is heart-wrenching. Nani and Mrunal Thakur's pairing is commendable, and both have breathed life into their characters. Mrunal Thakur, in particular, stands out in the pre-climax scenes. Baby Kiara is adorable and evokes empathy. Priyadarshi, Angad Bedi, Jayaram, and Viraj Ashwin play key roles effectively. Direction For a debut director, Shouryuv's handling of the film is impressive, presenting the story without confusion or unnecessary violence and romance.
