Yatra 2 Movie Review: Targeting TDP with ‘Yatra 2’.. How is the Movie?
Yatra 2 Movie Review: Targeting TDP with ‘Yatra 2’.. How is the Movie?
Cast: Mammootty, Jiiva, Ketaki Narayan, Sachin Khedekar, Mahesh Manjrekar, and others Writing and Direction: Mahi V Raghav Cinematography: Madhie Music: Santhosh Narayanan Editor: Shravan Banner: 70mm Entertainments, 70mm Celluloid Producer: Vijay Chilla, Shashi Devireddy Release Date: 08-02-2024 Following the background of the late Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy's padayatra, the film 'Yatra' made its mark. As a sequel, 'Yatra 2' came out, focusing on the current AP CM Jagan. Unlike 'Yatra', which was a biopic of YSR, 'Yatra 2' specifically targets Jagan. The sequel movie hit the theaters today. Directed by Mahi V. Raghav, did the film manage to impress the audience? What aspects related to Jagan are showcased in the movie? Let's delve into the review to uncover these details. Story The story is well-known to all (Yatra 2 Movie Review). YSR (Mammootty) fields his son Jagan (Jiiva) as the MP candidate for Kadapa in the 2009 elections. Following YSR's sudden demise, Jagan embarks on an Odarpu Yatra, defying the ruling party's orders and reaching out to the people. What challenges does Jagan face from the ruling party during his journey? Under what circumstances does Jagan have to form his party? What events transpire in Jagan's life post-arrest? How does Jagan overcome adversities to become the CM? This forms the rest of the story. Performances Though Mammootty (Mammootty) appears only in the first 10 minutes as YSR, his performance leaves a mark. Actor Jiiva has completely immersed himself in the role of YSR Jagan. Jiiva perfectly captures Jagan's mannerisms and attitude, embodying the role without any hesitation. Ashrita Vemuganti, as YSR's wife Vijayamma, excels in her role. Mahesh Manjrekar as Chandrababu Naidu, Suzanne Bernert as Sonia Gandhi, and Ketaki Narayan as YS Bharathi, along with other cast members, have also made their presence felt. Direction Director Mahi V Raghav, who impressed everyone with 'Yatra', has marked his presence in 'Yatra 2' as well. Despite being a political biopic, he successfully navigated the story emotionally, achieving success once again. The film uses key political events between 2009-2019 to elevate Jagan's character. The emotional scenes between father and son in the first half connect well with the audience. However, the second half feels routine due to the regular political stuff, making it seem like just another political movie. Using original visuals related to YSR and Jagan in the film is a plus. Those who have followed the media and Jagan over the past few years might not find the film as exciting. Some scenes appear to be against the TDP. Technically On the technical front, Madhie's cinematography is impressive. The background music by Santhosh Narayanan adds a lot to the film, especially in emotional scenes and elevations for Jagan's character. Shravan's editing is good, and the production values are high. Plus Points Jiiva's performanceEmotional scenesBackground music Minus Points Dragged scenes telugu.yousay.tv Rating: 3/5

Movies with Political backdrop in Tollywood
Movies with Political backdrop in Tollywood
Movies are not just a source of entertainment; they often reflect societal issues, influencing public opinion and stirring discussions. It is through this medium that Telugu cinema has seen a surge in political films, particularly in recent years, capturing the essence of political dynamics during state elections and impacting public perceptions. From 2019 onwards, political films have taken center stage in Tollywood, and this trend continues in 2024, with each movie adding its unique narrative to the political discourse. Yatra The film "Yatra" chronicles the political journey of the late Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. Directed by Mahi V. Raghav, it delves into the reasons behind YSR's political yatra and the public sentiment regarding his governance, particularly in the context of Chandrababu Naidu's nine-year rule. Released before the 2019 AP Assembly elections, the film received critical acclaim and contributed positively to the political narrative, especially within the YSRCP. NTR Mahanayakudu Highlighting the political life of N.T. Rama Rao, the former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh, "NTR Mahanayakudu" portrays his journey and the challenges he faced. Nandamuri Balakrishna portrays NTR in this biographical drama directed by Krish, with Vidya Balan appearing as NTR's wife Basavatarakam. The film sheds light on NTR's confrontation with the Congress party, particularly showcasing his struggle against the Congress-led central government, which eventually led to his return to power. Lakshmi's NTR Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, "Lakshmi's NTR" depicts the life of NTR post his marriage to Lakshmi Parvathi and the subsequent political turmoil within his family and party. The film explores the reasons behind NTR's sidelining by his family members and his eventual downfall, portraying it as a consequence of political conspiracies orchestrated by his son-in-law Chandrababu Naidu and other opposition leaders. Despite facing controversies and obstacles, the film was a commercial success, resonating with the opposition parties, particularly the YSRCP. Amma Rajyam Lo Kadapa Biddalu  Released in December 2019, "Amma Rajyam Lo Kadapa Biddalu" is a political drama directed by Ram Gopal Varma, focusing on the political scenario in Andhra Pradesh during Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's tenure. The film portrays the power struggles and political vendettas between Jagan Mohan Reddy, his predecessor Chandrababu Naidu's son Lokesh. It gained attention for its controversial narrative, depicting real-life political events in a dramatic fashion. Jai Bolo Telangana "Jai Bolo Telangana" revolves around the Telangana movement and the sacrifices made by individuals and families for the cause of a separate state. Directed by N. Shankar, the film features Jagapathi Babu, Smriti Irani, Sandeep, and Meera Nandan in prominent roles. It portrays the struggles faced by activists during the Telangana movement, highlighting the socio-political dynamics of the region and the aspirations of its people. Yatra 2 Continuing the legacy of "Yatra," "Yatra 2" serves as a semi-biographical sequel focusing on Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's political journey after the demise of YSR. Directed by Mahi V. Raghav, the film explores Jagan's challenges and aspirations as he strives to fulfill his father's political legacy, resonating with the sentiments of the masses. Vyooham  Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, "Vyooham" presents a controversial narrative surrounding the political strategies and power dynamics during Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's tenure as Chief Minister. It delves into the political maneuvers and confrontations between Jagan Mohan Reddy and opposition leaders such as Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan, portraying the intricacies of Andhra Pradesh politics. Sapatham  Following "Vyooham," Ram Gopal Varma's "Sapatham" further explores the political landscape of Andhra Pradesh, particularly during Jagan Mohan Reddy's chief ministership. The film sheds light on the challenges faced by Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party in implementing their agenda, amidst opposition from Chandrababu Naidu and others. With his distinct style, Varma presents a compelling narrative, reflecting the complexities of contemporary Andhra Pradesh politics. Rajadhani Files Based on the initiative taken by 29 villages of Guntur and Krishna districts against the Andhra Pradesh government, this movie was made. Directed by Bhanu Shankar, Akhilan Pushparaj, Vishal Pati, Vinod Kumar, and Vani Vishwanath played pivotal roles. This film deserves attention for targeting Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan. Leader Under the direction of Sekhar Kammula, the movie 'Leader' turned out to be a blockbuster. It introduced Rana to the industry. It's about Arjun (Rana), who becomes the Chief Minister after his father's death but has no interest in power. The movie depicts his struggle against injustice and casteism in society. Mickey J. Meyer's music adds to its appeal. Bharat Ane Nenu The political action thriller starring Mahesh Babu, directed by Koratala Siva, achieved great success. Bharat (Mahesh) steps into the role of CM after his father's demise and strives to do good for the people. How does he tackle the problems he faces? How does he confront the corrupt politicians within his party? These questions form the crux of the movie. Nota 'Nota,' the latest political drama directed by Anand Shankar, features Vijay Deverakonda as Varun, a reluctant Chief Minister's son who assumes office after his father's legal issues. How does he adapt to the role, and how does he deal with his father's mistakes? This movie, featuring Mehreen opposite Vijay, explores these themes.

Aarambham Review: Go watch A Thrilling Story.
Cast: Mohan Bhagat, Supritha Satyanarayana, Bhooshan Kalyan, Ravindra Vijay, Surabhi Padmavathi, Abhishek Boddupalli, and others Director: Ajay Nag Music: Sinjit Yarramilli Cinematography: Devdeep Gandhi Producers: Abhishek V. Thirumalesh, Vyan Reddy Mamidi Release Date: May 10, 2024 Featuring Mohan Bhagat, Supritha Satyanarayana, Bhooshan Kalyan, and Ravindra Vijay in prominent roles, 'Aarambham,' directed by V. Ajay Nag, premiered on May 10 as an emotional thriller. How has it performed? Has it engaged the audience? Let's explore in this review. Story In the plot, Migil (Mohan Bhagat) is incarcerated in Kala Ghadi Jail. Unexpectedly, just one day before his execution, he vanishes from his cell without a trace, despite all locks and barriers being intact. This bewildering event prompts the involvement of a detective (Ravindra Vijay), who embarks on a quest to unravel the mystery. In the course of his investigation, Migil’s diary surfaces. What does it contain? What’s Migil’s backstory? How is he linked to a Deja Vu experiment? Why was Migil jailed, and how did he manage his escape? The narrative progresses to reveal these enigmas. Performance Review In the movie, Mohan Bhagat delivers an exceptional performance as Migil, capturing the complexity of his character with finesse. Supritha Satyanarayana performs capably in the female lead, while Surabhi Prabhavathi excels as the mother. Bhooshan effectively portrays a scientist, demonstrating notable talent. Laxman Meesala and Ravindra Vijay, along with the rest of the cast, also deliver impressive performances in their respective roles. Direction Review Director Ajay Nag presents a novel narrative in this film, blending the theme of needing a companion in life with the scientific experiment of Deja Vu to weave suspense. He adeptly guides the story and screenplay, keeping the intrigue alive throughout. While the film has its slower moments, the suspense is effectively sustained to the end. Nonetheless, the absence of commercial elements could be seen as a drawback, potentially limiting its appeal to a broader audience. Technical Aspects Technically, the movie shines across all departments. The cinematography is especially noteworthy, capturing a small village nestled in the mountains with exceptional beauty. Sinjit Yarramilli's background music significantly enhances the scenes, adding depth and emotion. The art department's work is commendable, and the overall production values are well-suited to the film’s scale. Plus Points - Story and screenplay - Suspense - Background music Minus Points - Some boring scenes - Lack of commercial appeal Telugu.yousay.tv Rating: 3/5

Is the OTT platform becoming a haven for vulgarity and obscenity? Why are stars not happy with it?
Is the OTT platform becoming a haven for vulgarity and obscenity? Why are stars not happy with it?
A key change brought about by the digital revolution is the emergence of Over The Top (OTT) platforms. Once, movies were only screened in theaters and aired on TV. However, with the advent of OTT, this tradition has completely transformed. The use of smartphones has led to the widespread adoption of OTT platforms. Nevertheless, controversies surrounding the content aired on OTT platforms have been apparent since their inception. Recently, this issue has escalated, with even Bollywood star Salman Khan expressing his discontent with OTT platforms. OTT platforms have been in operation for quite some time, but it was during the coronavirus pandemic that they truly became popular among the masses. With theaters closed, entertainment became scarce for moviegoers, and people had to stay indoors. Consequently, many people developed a habit of watching movies and series on their TVs and phones. As the user base grew rapidly, OTT platforms strove to captivate their audiences even more. However, in the process of expanding their market and business, some platforms have crossed the line with their content. To quickly attract users, they have engaged in the use of explicit language, bold scenes, and provocative content. There is no censorship of content on OTT platforms, which has led to an increase in vulgarity and obscenity. Filmmakers have been given free rein, and the public's appreciation has further fueled their enthusiasm. Actors and actresses have also had to adapt to this trend. Gradually, the prevalence of indecent scenes, obscene language, vulgarity, and intense violence has increased. OTT series has had a significant impact on viewers by using explicit language that would not have been used in public spaces. Many people cite the recently released web series ‘Rana Naidu' as an example of this issue. A prominent star actress and BJP leader, Vijayashanti, has also expressed her discontent with this series. Why is there no censorship? Censorship for OTT platforms presents a considerable challenge. A petition was even submitted to the Supreme Court advocating for the censorship of OTT content. The court examined the benefits and drawbacks of censorship and ultimately determined that implementing censorship for web series could be difficult. This is because web series tend to be longer in duration, making it challenging to review the entire series for censorship purposes. Additionally, since OTT content is available worldwide, censorship regulations may vary between countries, creating another obstacle. Is censorship beneficial? Provocative speeches tend to attract people easily, and since OTT platforms are accessible to everyone, such content can attract a wide audience. The outcomes of such content are unpredictable, which is why censorship has its advantages. It can help prevent hate speech and content that violates a country's sovereignty. Censorship of OTT content can also protect children from harmful content. Why not have censorship for OTT content? The ongoing debate on whether or not OTT content should be subject to censorship continues. Opponents of censorship argue that some movies can only be made with certain liberties and that it is necessary for the final product to be good. They also point out that censorship may result in the exclusion of certain topics and hinder the creative expression of filmmakers, resulting in a lack of diverse content. However, the argument that OTT content does more harm than good cannot be ignored. It is said that the use of vulgar language in OTT content can influence viewers to use such language themselves, leading to issues for others. Even prominent figures in the film industry, like Salman Khan and Vijayashanthi, have raised concerns about the need for censorship of OTT content. Some OTT platforms are specifically targeting adult content. Platforms like Alt Balaji, Ullu App, GupChup, Fenio Movies, Hotshot, 8Shots, and Fizz Movies are broadcasting adult content in large numbers, causing further concerns about the need for censorship. Here are some of the top adult OTT series in India: Class of 2020 This series revolves around the lives of students, their relationships, drug use, and sexual encounters. It spans 32 episodes.
