Kodi Ramakrishna is among the distinguished directors in Telugu cinema. While Vithalacharya introduced VFX to Telugu cinema, it was Kodi Ramakrishna who elevated it to the highest level of excellence. He began his directorial career with the film 'Intlo Ramayya Veedilo Krishnayya'. He worked in the direction department under Dasari Narayana Rao and served as an assistant director in many films. He directed blockbuster movies like 'Gudachari No.1', 'Rikshavodu', 'Anji', 'Mangamma Gari Manavadu', 'Devi', 'Ammoru', 'Devullu', 'Devi Putrudu', 'Arundhati' and more. He directed over 100 films, ranking just after Dasari Narayana Rao and Raghavendra Rao in terms of the number of movies directed. He received 10 Nandi Awards and two Filmfare Awards. The Government of Andhra Pradesh honored him with the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award.
