
L. V. Prasad

Akkineni Lakshmi Vara Prasada Rao, known as L.V. Prasad was a prominent first-generation actor, director, and producer in Indian cinema. He acted in India's first Hindi talkie, "Alam Ara." L.V. Prasad made his directorial debut with "Gruhapravesam" (1941), considered a timeless classic in Telugu cinema. His film "Palnati Yuddham" (1947) was a resounding success. In 1949, he introduced the legendary actor NTR to Telugu cinema in a minor role in "Mana Desam." His direction in films like "Shavukaru" , "Samsaram" , "Missamma" , "Mana Desam" , "Pelli Chesi Choodu" , "Appu Chesi Pappu Koodu" and "Gruhapravesam" produced cinematic gems. The Indian Government honored him with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his services to the film industry, and Andhra University conferred an honorary doctorate upon him.
