In 1988, he directed the neo-realistic film Kallu, which received many awards, including state awards and garnered a special mention from the CBFC Jury. Known as 'Kallu Raghu' in the Telugu Film Industry, he has served as a Jury Member for Nandi Film Awards in 2001 and 2017.
