Aay Movie Review: Another small scale hit comedy
Aay Movie Review: Another small scale hit comedy Cast: Narne Nithiin, Nayan Sarika, Kasireddy Raj Kumar, Ankith Koya, and others Director: Anji K Maniputra Music Directors: Ram Miriyala, Ajay Arasada Cinematography: Sameer Kalyani Producers: Bunny Vas, Vidya Koppineedi NTR's brother-in-law, Narne Nithiin, stars in his second film, 'Aay'. After achieving a solid hit with the film 'Mad', this young hero is set to impress the audience this week with 'Aay', directed by Anji K. Maniputra and featuring Nayan Sarika as the heroine. The movie was released on August 15th. How is the film? Did it impress the audience? Let’s find out in this review. What's the Story? Karthik (Narne Nithiin) from Amalapuram joins a software job in Hyderabad. Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, he returns to his village. While working from home, he spends enjoyable times with his childhood friends, Hari and Subbu. During this period, he falls in love with Pallavi (Nayan Sarika) from a neighboring village. Pallavi, who is very active on social media and cares deeply about caste, initially likes Karthik believing he is from the same caste. When she discovers he is from a different caste, she distances herself and agrees to an arranged marriage. Karthik finds it hard to cope with this. Meanwhile, his friends Hari and Subbu try various ways to reunite them. Did their efforts succeed? Did Karthik and Pallavi get married? To find out, one must watch the movie. How Did They Perform? Narne Nithiin in the role of Karthik was captivating. This role, compared to his first film, offered more scope for acting, and his maturity is evident in his expressions and dialogue delivery. He was also impressed with his dance skills. Nayan Sarika, as Pallavi, charmed with her beauty and performance, perfectly portraying a girl from the Godavari region. The comedy delivered by Raj Kumar Kasireddy and Ankith Koya in their roles as friends highlighted the film, particularly Kasireddy’s performance, which is memorable. Mime Gopi and Vinod Kumar performed well within the limits of their roles. How's the Direction? Though director Anji chose a familiar story, the way he presented it is appealing. The backdrop of Amalapuram, the innocence and warmth in the people, and the bonds of childhood friends all these elements are well-blended into the narrative. The film picks up pace when the three friends reunite, and from the moment Karthik falls in love, the movie becomes more entertaining. The efforts and troubles his friends undergo to help with his love life bring laughs. The director managed to introduce a twist in the straightforward storyline to make the second half more interesting. He also delivered a good message by involving the elders of both families in the second half. The twist in the climax is surprising. However, the routine story, a love track dominated by comedy, and some illogical scenes are drawbacks of the movie. Technically Speaking Technically, the cinematography by Sameer Kalyani is a significant plus for the movie. His camera work showcasing the surroundings of Amalapuram and the rural setting is impressive. Regarding music, the songs breathe life into the film, with Ram Miriyala’s Sufi song being particularly enchanting. The production values are high, with the producers not compromising on the budget. Plus Points: - Performances - Comedy - Climax Minus Points: - Routine story - Predictable narrative Telugu.YouSay.tv Rating: 3/5

KA Movie Review : Missing Girls Mystery & Double Role - 'KA' Proves to be Kiran's Career-Best! Release Date: October 31, 2024 Cast: Kiran Abbavaram, Nayan Sarika, Tanvi Ram, Achyuth Kumar, Balagam Jayaram, and others Directors: Sandeep, Sujit Producer: Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy Music: Sam CS Cinematography: Satish Reddy Masam, Daniel Vishwas Kiran Abbavaram is one of Tollywood's talented young heroes. He made a mark with his debut film 'Raja Vaaru Rani Gaaru' and showed his potential. Despite his subsequent seven films, except for 'SR Kalyanamandapam,' not making an impact, many thought his career might have stalled. However, Kiran made a striking comeback with the pan-India project 'KA,' which garnered a lot of hype through its promotions. The trailer raised expectations, and the film has now been released globally as a Diwali gift. Let's see how it fared. Plot Abhinay Vasudev (Kiran Abbavaram) is a young orphan who grows up grieving the loss of his family. From his childhood, he longs for his parents. Escaping from the orphanage and stealing money from his master, Gurunatham, he leaves. He loves reading books and letters, a passion that leads him on a new path. Finally, he arrives in Krishnagiri and joins as a postman in the village. There he falls in love with Satyabhama (Nayan Sarika), who reciprocates his feelings. Meanwhile, girls in the village start disappearing. Who is behind this mystery, and how does Abhinay Vasudev confront this challenge? That forms the rest of the story. What's the Film Like? The film introduces a fresh concept. The narration, thrilling moments, and climax are well-executed. Strong characters and their engaging presentation capture the audience's attention, especially during the interval and climax scenes. The twists add freshness to the narrative. Kiran Abbavaram excels in the dual variations of his role as Abhinay. Nayan Sarika, as the heroine, delivers a commendable performance that captivates the audience. Balagam Jayaram is impressive, and other principal cast members have justified their roles effectively. How's the Direction? Directors Sandeep and Sujit have somewhat succeeded in capturing the essence of the suspense thriller genre. While there is room for improvement in the screenplay, key scenes have been compellingly shot. Although the concept is interesting, some parts of the screenplay feel slow. The main conflict point could have been clearer, and some unnecessary scenes seem to weaken the suspense. These issues somewhat detracted from the film's overall impact. Technical Aspects The film excels technically. The cinematography by Satish Reddy Masam and Daniel Vishwas breathes life into crucial scenes. Sam CS's music adds strength to the film, and the editing is sharp. Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy's production values are commendable. Final Thoughts Overall, 'KA' engages audiences with its suspense and thriller elements, underpinned by a strong story. The concept and some thrilling elements significantly elevate the film. Fans of suspense thrillers will likely enjoy this movie. Rating: 3.5/5

Bench Life Series Review: A Relatable Tale for IT Professionals with Stellar Performances Cast: Vaibhav Reddy, Ritika Singh, Charan, Akanksha Singh, Nayan Sarika, Rajendra Prasad, Tanikella Bharani, Venkatesh Kakumanu, and others. Writer and Director: Manasa Sharma Cinematography: Dhanush Bhaskar Music: P.K. Dandi Producer: Niharika Konidela Production Company: Pink Elephant Pictures OTT Platform: SonyLIV Release Date: September 12, 2024 After the recent release and success of 'Committee Kurrollu,' which featured new actors and a fresh storyline, Niharika Konidela received commendations. This set high expectations for her newly produced web series 'Bench Life,' centered around the struggles of software employees, directed by Manasa Sharma against an IT backdrop. The series stars Vaibhav Reddy, Charan Peri, Ritika Singh, and Akanksha Singh in leading roles and began streaming on SonyLIV from September 12. Let’s delve into this review to see if 'Bench Life' is another hit in Niharika's account. What’s the Story? Balu (Vaibhav Reddy), Ravi (Charan Peri), and Meenakshi (Ritika Singh) are employees at a prominent software company and also good friends. Balu has been in love with Esha (Akanksha Singh), a colleague, for nine years but has never confessed his feelings. Meanwhile, Meenakshi dreams of becoming a director and circulates her scripts among producers. In the meantime, Ravi plans a trip to Goa with his wife (Nayan Sarika) and two friends, prompting the three friends to go on the bench. What happens after they go on the bench? What role does Prasad Vashisht (Rajendra Prasad) play in the company? What causes discord between Ravi and his wife? Did Ravi confess his love to Esha? What happened to Esha’s dream of becoming a director? To find out, one must watch the series. How Did They Perform? Vaibhav, as Balu, delivers a commendable performance, generating plenty of laughs with his comedic timing. Akanksha Singh, as his love interest, played her part well, captivating as a reserved young woman unable to express her inner feelings. The highlight of the series might be said to be the duo Charan Peri and Nayan Sarika, whose performances along with their scenes together are highly entertaining. Ritika fits perfectly into the role of Meenakshi, a young woman struggling to break free from an unsatisfying job to pursue her dreams of directing. Tulasi justly fulfills her role, while Rajendra Prasad once again charms with his comedic timing and emotional delivery. Tanikella Bharani, though in a brief role, makes a significant impact at a crucial moment in the story. Niharika Konidela, Sangith Shoban, and Venkat make memorable appearances in guest roles. How Was the Direction? Director Manasa Sharma has crafted the series in a way that connects well with the youth, particularly software employees, developing each character with a purposeful arc. The finale provided for the characters of Charan Peri and Nayan Sarika is particularly well-done. However, the endings given to Ritika Singh and Akanksha Singh's characters feel overly cinematic and lack naturalness. The comedy track between Rajendra Prasad and Vaibhav Reddy is a significant plus, as are the sentimental scenes involving Rajendra Prasad and Nayan Sarika. Overall, director Manasa Sharma has earned commendable marks, though the coarse language used by Vaibhav and the series’ appeal primarily to IT professionals could be seen as drawbacks. Technically... On the technical front, the cinematographer has done an excellent job presenting the software office environment effectively. The background music is also praiseworthy. Other departments like art work and production design have shown solid performance, reflecting high production values. Plus Points - Performances of the main cast - Directional skills - Comedy elements Minus Points - Occasionally bold dialogues - Appeal mainly limited to IT professionals Telugu.yousay.tv Rating : 3/5

Diwali Drama: 'KA' Movie's ₹26.5 Crore Success Story Marred by Theater Politics and Tamil Nadu Rejection Starring Tollywood's young hero Kiran Abbavaram in the lead role, 'Ka', directed by the young duo Sujith and Sandeep, has been a massive success, particularly during the 2024 Diwali season. Co-starring young beauty Nayan Sarika, the film's collections have been steadily increasing, grossing over Rs. 26.52 crores in the first four days, surprising everyone. However, the film could have earned even more if not for certain injustices at the theaters which have significantly affected its collections. If this mistake is not rectified, the future of smaller films could be seriously jeopardized. Injustice in Theater Allocations 'Ka', starring Kiran Abbavaram, was announced long ago as a Diwali release, initially facing no competition for the holiday slot. However, other films such as 'Lucky Baskhar', 'Amaran', and 'Bagheera' entered the Diwali fray later. Except for 'Lucky Baskhar', the other films were foreign language films dubbed in Telugu. Due to the release of 'Amaran' and 'Bagheera', 'Ka' did not receive the expected number of theaters. Moreover, multiplexes showed a preference for showcasing 'Amaran'. With a strong production house like Mythri Movie Makers backing 'Lucky Baskhar', that film did not face any theater issues. However, 'Ka' suffered significant losses. Being a smaller film without a major star, distributors and exhibitors were hesitant to screen 'Ka', which ended up being shown in only 147 theaters across the Telugu states. Had 'Amaran' and 'Bagheera' been blocked from releasing during Diwali, 'Ka' would have easily secured more theaters and possibly joined the Rs. 50 crore club due to its strong performance. Ignored by 'Kollywood'! Tamil films receive extensive support from Telugu audiences, with stars like Suriya, Karthi, Vikram, Rajinikanth, and Kamal Haasan enjoying a separate fan base in the Telugu states, contributing significantly to the high box office collections of Tamil films. However, Telugu films do not receive the same level of appreciation in Tamil Nadu. Telugu films are somewhat looked down upon by Tamil directors, producers, and audiences. The issue with 'Ka' highlighted this bias once again. As part of a pan-India release strategy, the makers of 'Ka' had planned a strong release in Tamil Nadu. However, Tamil directors and producers completely blocked the release of 'Ka', fearing that it would compete with local Diwali releases. Not a single theater was offered in Tamil Nadu, which Kiran Abbavaram himself announced. Had 'Ka' been released there, the potential increase in collections would have been significant. Due to the lack of theaters, 'Ka' is now slated to release there a week late. Ignored by the Media! Even when injustices occur against 'Ka' in both Tamil Nadu and the Telugu states, Tollywood elites and entertainment media remain silent. Telugu film sites, journalists, and social media that repeatedly highlight Kiran Abbavaram's failures are silent on the injustices happening even though the film is achieving great success. They often question the necessity of a large budget for your film and whether it can recover the investment but remain silent when collections are drastically reduced. Isn't the entertainment media responsible for supporting good cinema? If this situation does not change, the future of small films could be in jeopardy, especially during festival seasons, potentially discouraging young heroes and directors from releasing films. Change is Necessary! Regardless of the industry Bollywood, Kollywood, Sandalwood, Mollywood, or Hollywood and regardless of the season, films are provided in theaters. If necessary, they indirectly pressure small films to step aside. This situation needs to change. During festive seasons like Sankranti, Dussehra, Diwali, and summer, checks should be placed on dubbing films from neighboring states, suggesting a delayed release of one week to ensure good collections for Telugu films. There is no injustice to anyone here. When Tamil Nadu prioritizes Tamil films, the same rule should apply in Telugu states. Tollywood elders, producers, and distributors need to think about this.
