S.P. Kodandapani was a renowned music director in Telugu cinema, born Sripathi Panditaradhyula Kodandapani. His first break as a singer came with the film 'Santhanam' (1955). He gained valuable musical knowledge while working as an assistant to K.V. Mahadevan. Kodandapani debuted as a music director with 'Kannakoduku' (1961). He composed music for successful movies such as 'Gandhi Puttina Desam', 'Pandanti Kapuram', 'Sri sri sri Maryada Ramanna', 'Sri Rama Katha', 'Thatha-Manavadu', 'Gopaludu Bhoopaludu', 'Jwala Dweepam', 'Ranabheri', and 'Devatha'. His memorable songs include 'Bommanu Chesi Pranam Posi', 'Idi Mallela Velayani', and 'Jagame Ramamayam'. He introduced the legendary singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyam to Telugu cinema with 'Srisrisri Maryada Ramanna'.
