      Nepotism has always been a hot topic in the film industry. Following the tragic demise of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the debate around nepotism intensified. There's a widespread belief that nepotism bars opportunities for outsiders as industry heirs dominate the space. Nepotism has become commonplace, and Tollywood is no exception. It's often said that, after Bollywood, our industry has a high number of heroes from film families, leaving actors like Nani, Vijay Deverakonda, Nithiin, Adivi Sesh, Sharwanand, and Gopichand categorized as 'Tier 2' heroes. But how much truth is there to this? Are they truly unable to succeed because of nepotism? Let's find out in this special report. What Exactly is 'Tier 2'? Generally, in every industry, actors are classified into two or three tiers based on their popularity. In Tollywood, names like Prabhas, Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Allu Arjun, Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Chiranjeevi, and Balakrishna are considered 'Tier 1' heroes. They create a festive atmosphere in theaters upon the release of their films, recovering about 30% to 50% of the budget on the first day itself due to their massive fan following. Tier 2 heroes, as previously mentioned, including Nani, Vijay Deverakonda, Nithiin, Ram Pothineni, Naga Chaitanya, and Gopichand, may lag slightly behind in terms of remuneration, fan base, and budget of the films. Despite competing with top-tier heroes and being active in the industry, their films' collections tend to be limited. Unseen by Star Directors! Star directors like Rajamouli, Trivikram, Sukumar, and Koratala Siva prefer working with top-tier heroes, which, fans argue, does injustice to stars like Vijay Deverakonda and Nani. The exclusion by star directors reportedly prevents these actors from achieving pan-Indian success. Even though they release films with new directors at a pan-India level, they don't achieve the expected results. Hero Nani faced this with his project 'Saripodhaa Sanivaaram,' planned for a pan-India release but still not released in Hindi. Fans suggest that despite having talent, the lack of star power beyond Tollywood is a disadvantage for Nani. Are Stories Failing Too? A great cast cannot save a film if the story fails. Whether a film is a success or a failure largely depends on the story. Fans are questioning whether 'Tier 2' heroes are choosing their scripts wisely. Directed by Ram Bhimana and starring actress Hasini as the female lead, this film tests Raj Tarun's ability to rebound. Let’s see if it has succeeded in giving him a hit in this review. What's the story? Rachit Ram (Raj Tarun) was born a billionaire, the sole heir of Aditya Ram (Murali Sharma), who heads PR Groups. After completing his education abroad, Aditya decides to entrust his son with the CEO responsibilities. However, Rachit's aunt Vasundhara (Ramya Krishnan) objects to this. Praveen provides comic relief in the friend’s role, while other comedians like Satya and Brahmanandam shine throughout the film. Direction We've seen many films where a wealthy young man lives as a common man for various reasons. Director Ram Bhimana has crafted 'Purushothamudu' in a similar vein. The real story begins when the wealthy hero reaches the village of Rayapulanka. The introductions and romantic scenes with the heroine are engaging. The first half is entertaining with village backdrop comedy, and the hero's stance against injustices in the village makes for an appealing interval bang. However, the narrative seems to lose track in the second half, meandering predictably and boringly without any significant twists. The climax, although predictable, is somewhat saved by Prakash Raj's entry and his impactful dialogues. Director Ram Bhimana fails to bring any novelty to the story or narration. Technically Musically, Gopi Sundar’s contributions are just passable, with none of the songs being particularly memorable. The background score is decent. PG Vinda’s cinematography is impressive, capturing the essence of village life beautifully. The editing is adequate, and the production values are suitably high for the film. Did it achieve success similar to the original Demonte Colony? Let's find out in this review. Plot Samuel Richard (Sarjano Khalid) unexpectedly commits suicide after overcoming a disease like cancer. His wife, Debbie (Priya Bhavani Shankar), struggles to come to terms with his decision and attempts to communicate with his spirit to uncover the reason behind his actions. She discovers from a book in a library that his death was predetermined by that book. Debbie learns that many others who read this book also died similarly. This role, unlike her previous glamor roles, provided her with a substantial acting opportunity. Arun Pandian, playing the role of Debbie's uncle, did a satisfactory job. Archana Ravichandran, though in a brief appearance, managed to entertain. Muthukumar, Sarjano Khalid, and others performed well, particularly those portraying Buddhist monks who were captivating. Direction R. Ajay Gnanamuthu has crafted part 2 as a continuation of the original 'Demonte Colony' story. The film keeps the audience engaged with twists every half-hour from the start. The director skillfully intertwined two stories by introducing a family not present in the first part. The film not only deals with horror but also includes disputes among brothers and step-sisters, adding a bit of entertainment. Debbie’s efforts to save the twin brothers and the ensuing horror elements are thrilling. The screenplay is quite engaging. The climax along with the scenes linking to a potential third part are surprising. However, weak graphics, some dragging scenes, and the pre-climax could be seen as negatives. Technically On the technical front, the cinematographer did an excellent job by not just sticking to the typical dark mode of regular horror films but presenting it in a colorful manner. The graphics department could have done better. The background music was good, enhancing the suspense in the scenes. Editing was decent. The production values are high. Released on October 11, did 'Viswam' bring them the success they were hoping for? Let's find out in this complete review. Plot In Hyderabad, a federal minister (Suman) is murdered. Assassins chase a child who witnessed the murder, intending to kill her. However, Gopireddy (Gopichand), who is acquainted with the child’s family, saves her multiple times from danger. There is a reason behind Gopireddy's acquaintance with the family. What is that reason? Why did Gopireddy distance himself from Samaira (Kavya Thapar) whom he met in Italy? Who really is Gopireddy? Why is he trying to save the child? What is Gopireddy's background? To find out, one must go to the theaters. Performance Actor Gopichand captivates with his settled acting and impresses in action sequences, proving his comedy timing once again with 'Viswam'. However, his role does not offer much variety compared to his previous films; it feels quite routine. Heroine Kavya Thapar doesn’t have much scope in acting but scores well on the glamour front. Naresh, Vennela Kishore, Sunil, and Rahul Ramakrishna bring laughter in the film, especially in the train episode. Other characters have performed well within their roles. Direction Having directed blockbusters like 'Anandam', 'Sontham', 'Venky', 'Dhee', 'Ready', and 'Dookudu', Srinu Vaitla had lost his track recently. Recognizing his strengths and weaknesses, he brought 'Viswam', a mix of action and comedy, back to the audience. However, choosing an outdated story for this film could be seen as a drawback. Punches and the comedy track are the strengths of the film, particularly the sequences involving Vennela Kishore and Prithvi that are sure to leave the audience in splits. The Italy track and the villain’s character feel weak. The hero-heroine love track also feels repetitive. However, the interval scene and the climax manage to engage. Technically On the technical front, Chetan Bharadwaj’s music is decent with two or three good songs, and the background score elevates the scenes well. K.V. Guhan’s cinematography is also commendable. Editing by Amar Reddy could have been sharper. The production values are high, giving each scene a rich look. One day while in the studio, he receives a call from a girl claiming she has been kidnapped. Initially dismissing it as a prank, Nilay is eventually convinced by her words and decides to go live. The police, listening to the radio, start believing that the girl has indeed been kidnapped and begin efforts to save her. They assign the task of gathering information about the kidnapped girl to Nilay, who is in the studio. Who is this girl? Was she really kidnapped? How do the police save her? Who is the girl Nilay lost in an accident? Is there any connection between her and the kidnapped girl? You'll have to watch the movie to find out. How Did They Perform? In the movie 'Aham Reboot,' Sumanth is a one-man show. He is the only character visible throughout the movie; all other characters are just heard. Sumanth captivates with his performance, embodying a modern young man carrying an unspoken sorrow and striving to save a girl's life as a radio jockey. He effectively conveys emotions and carries the story on his shoulders. Visually, Sumanth presents a new look in this movie. How’s the Direction? Directing a movie with just one character is akin to walking a tightrope, especially when the entire story unfolds in a single location. In this challenging endeavor, director Prashanth Sagar Atluri has managed to achieve a notable level of success. The narrative begins with a phone call from a girl claiming she has been kidnapped. The director skillfully guides the plot from gathering her details to forwarding them to the police, who then initiate a rescue operation. This approach keeps the narrative tight and engaging. A twist at the end that links Nilay's life to the kidnapped girl adds an intriguing element. However, the film's reliance on only Sumanth's character and dialogue to drive the story might seem monotonous to some viewers. For those with the patience, 'Aham Reboot' offers a compelling thriller experience. Technically... On the technical front, the background music is a significant plus for the movie. Sriram Madduri’s BGM elevates the thrilling scenes further. With just one character, the editing needed to be crisp, which worked out well. The production values are commendable. The Goat Life (Aadujeevitham) After the blockbuster 'Salaar', Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran starred in 'The Goat Life' directed by award-winning director Blessy. Amala Paul, KR Gokul, and Jimmy Jean Louis play key roles. This survival adventure film was released on March 28 and achieved great success, grossing over Rs. 150 crores worldwide.
