Nani’s ‘Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’ Becomes a Nationwide OTT Sensation, Surpasses ₹100 Crores!

The film ‘Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’ featuring Nani began streaming on Netflix from September 26. As a result, it started trending as the top one nationally from the second day of its release. To celebrate, Netflix released a special poster, shared by hero Nani through his X account. Nani Surpasses Janhvi

‘Ulajh’ starring Janhvi Kapoor, released on Netflix the day after ‘Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’ came out, is also competing for the top spot. This spy thriller was introduced to audiences in August and made its OTT debut on September 27. Currently, it is capturing good viewership, making it in second place nationwide on Netflix. Directed by Sudhanshu Saria, Janhvi appears as IFS officer Suhana Bhatia, with Roshan Mathew in a leading role.

Collections Over 100 Crores

‘Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’ was released in approximately 1000 screens on August 29, with a break-even target of 42 crores. It achieved massive openings everywhere, driven by positive reviews, especially overseas where Nani made a significant impact. By the time it ended its theatrical run, it had grossed over 100.39 crores, marking it as the second film in Nani’s career to surpass 100 crores in collections, following last year’s ‘Dasara’, which collected 121 crores.

Recognized as a classic director through films like ‘Mental Madhilo’, ‘Brochevarevarura’, and ‘Ante Sundaraniki’, Vivek Athreya has introduced a new aspect of his hometown flavor in this film. Diverging from his usual style, he crafted the film with gripping action scenes that have been highly praised. Nani and S.J. Suryah’s acting, the action sequences, and Jakes Bejoy’s background music were major highlights. Particularly, the Tom and Jerry-like scenes between the hero and the villain delighted the audience. Story of ‘Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’

Surya (Nani), an LIC agent, cannot tolerate injustice happening before his eyes. He chooses Saturdays to display his anger. Meanwhile, the people of Sokulapalem are facing hardships. The police officer Daya (S.J. Suryah) oppresses them using his power. Amidst dramatic events, the hero decides to stand by the people of Sokulapalem. How does Surya confront the brutal police officer? What challenges does he face in the process? What makes Surya erupt specifically on Saturdays?
