Following the blockbuster ‘RRR‘, Ram Charan is starring in ‘Game Changer‘, a political drama directed by Tamil cinema’s renowned director Shankar and produced by Tollywood’s notable producer, Dil Raju. Recently, Dil Raju hinted at a Christmas release, which had mega fans celebrating. However, new issues have surfaced that could potentially delay the film’s release this year.
What’s the Reason?
There’s strong buzz that ‘Game Changer’, starring mega power star Ram Charan, might not release this year as planned. Although initially set for a Christmas release, it’s now uncertain due to incomplete shooting. It’s reported that more than 15 days of shooting are still pending, and director Shankar is still scouting for new locations. This could mean more time is needed to finish the shooting, followed by post-production and dubbing, possibly pushing the release past December.
2024 Summer Release?
The ‘Game Changer’ film, a collaboration between Ram Charan and Shankar, might move from December to the summer of 2025. Even though there’s a chance for a Sankranti release if December is missed, several films are already slated for the Pongal competition. The makers of megastar Chiranjeevi’s ‘Vishwambhara’ have announced a Sankranti release. Similarly, films starring Venkatesh and Anil Ravipudi, and Ajith’s ‘Good Bad Ugly’, and ‘Shatamanam Bhavati 2’ are also aiming for the same festive release. In this context, it seems unwise for the ‘Game Changer’ team to join the race. Given the exam season in February and March, cinema pundits are speculating a possible release during the summer holidays.
High Hopes on Game Changer!
Director Shankar’s recent release ‘Indian 2’ disappointed audiences, failing to meet expectations and earning criticism online. His previous films such as ‘Robo 2.0’, ‘I’, and ‘Snehithudu’ also underperformed at the box office. Therefore, ‘Game Changer’ has become crucial for Shankar to regain his successful track. Producer Dil Raju is also counting on this film to recover from the financial losses incurred from Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘Family Star’, which flopped at the box office. Currently, both the director and producer are heavily reliant on the success of this Charan movie.

In ‘Game Changer’, Bollywood beauty Kiara Advani stars as the female lead. Recently, on her birthday, the film team released a special poster where Kiara looks stunning in a multi-colored lehenga. This look is from the movie’s first single, ‘Jaragandi Jaragandi’. In addition to Charan and Kiara, S.J. Surya, Anjali, Srikanth, Nazar, Naveen Chandra, and Samuthirakani play significant roles in the film.
