The film ‘Hanuman‘ by young hero Teja Sajja and director Prasanth Varma has made a significant impact across the country. Released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, it has become a blockbuster hit. This film, which was a Sankranthi release this year, overshadowed even the major star-led films, setting new box office records and resulting in a windfall for the producers. Consequently, there are high expectations for the upcoming sequel, ‘Jai Hanuman’. Currently, there’s buzz in Tollywood that a pan-India star has been confirmed for the role of Hanuman in this sequel.
Kantara Actor as Hanuman!
The ending of the ‘Hanuman’ movie itself hinted at what ‘Jai Hanuman’ would be like, significantly raising expectations. From the beginning, there was speculation that leading actors would star in the sequel, with rumors suggesting that either Chiranjeevi or Ram Charan might take on the role of Hanuman. Recently, news surfaced that Prasanth Varma had discussions with KGF fame Yash, but the film unit debunked these as rumors. However, the latest buzz suggests that Prasanth Varma had talks with Rishab Shetty of Kantara fame for the role of Hanuman. Rishab Shetty has reportedly shown interest in this project, delighting fans about this exciting combination. Yet, this is just an industry leak, and an official announcement is needed.
Is There a Strategy Behind the Star Names?
Since the announcement of ‘Jai Hanuman’, there has always been some buzz on the internet related to this movie. News about various star heroes being finalized for the role of Hanuman has been circulating for some time. Names like Megastar Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, Rana Daggubati, and Yash of KGF fame have come up. Now, the latest is that Rishab Shetty has been finalized, but it’s a situation too fluid to confirm definitively. However, industry insiders suggest that this might be a big promotional stunt to keep the hype around ‘Jai Hanuman’ alive without letting it fade from public interest.
Pan-India Craze with Kantara
The Kannada film ‘Kantara’, starring and directed by Rishab Shetty, has proven its mettle on a national level, creating a box office tsunami. Before ‘Kantara’, Rishab Shetty was known primarily within the Kannada industry, but now his name is nationally recognized. He even received a national award for Best Actor for his performance. Currently, he is working on ‘Kantara Chapter 1’, a prequel to ‘Kantara’. The film team is collaborating with a prominent Hollywood VFX company known for its work on successful films like ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’, ‘The Lion King’, and ‘Batman’.
Mahakali Project
The third project from Prasanth Varma’s ‘Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe’ (PVCU) was recently announced. The movie, titled ‘MAHAKALI’, aims to introduce the first female superhero in Indian cinema, as suggested by the first look poster released by the makers. Interestingly, this movie is being directed by a female director, Pooja Aparna Kolluru, and is produced under the banner of RKD Studios by Riwaz Ramesh Duggal. “A new force joins our universe. Goddess Kali takes form to battle the most formidable evil. We will show what real superheroes are like,” posted Prasanth Varma, promising an exciting new addition to the PVCU.
Before Jai Hanuman…
Prasanth Varma previously announced that he had 20 scripts ready for his cinematic universe, with the first phase to include six superhero films. Before ‘Jai Hanuman’, films like ‘Adheera’ and ‘Mahakali’ were already prepared. Prasanth Varma also revealed plans to introduce Nandamuri scion Mokshagna in an upcoming film, which would be the second project from PVCU. He confirmed he would be directing this film himself. Prasanth Varma’s ambitious approach suggests that he aims to make a significant impact at the box office with a film each year.
