Akhil Akkineni, the heir of Nagarjuna, made his debut in the Telugu film industry at the age of one with the movie "Sisindri" (1995). After this film, he did not appear in any other movie as a child actor. Before entering the film industry, Akhil was a professional cricket player and was known for his proficiency in the sport. He scored a half-century for the Venky Warriors team in a cricket tournament (2010) organized by the 'MAA' association for fundraising. He won both the Man of the Match and Man of the Series awards in that tournament.
