Devaki Nandana Vasudeva Movie Review: Ashok Galla Shines in a Mythology-Inspired Tale That Misses the Mark!
Devaki Nandana Vasudeva Movie Review: Ashok Galla Shines in a Mythology-Inspired Tale That Misses the Mark! Cast: Ashok Galla, Manasa Varanasi, Devadatta Nage, and othersDirector: Arjun JandyalaStory: Prasanth VarmaDialogues: Burra Sai MadhavCinematography: Prasad Murella, RasoolEditing: ThimmarajuRelease Date: November 22, 2024 Ashok Galla, the son of prominent businessman Galla Jayadev and nephew of Mahesh Babu, stars in his latest film, Devaki Nandana Vasudeva. Prasanth Varma, known for Hanuman, penned the story, while Arjun Jandyala directed the movie. The team promised a blend of spirituality, commercial appeal, and thrilling elements. Released on November 22, did the movie captivate the audience? Did Prasanth Varma's trademark shine through? Let’s delve into the details. The Plot Kamsaraju (Devadatta Nage) is a tyrant. During a visit to Kashi, he encounters an Aghora who predicts that his death will come at the hands of his sister’s third child. Terrified, Kamsaraju attacks his pregnant sister (Devayani), leading to the death of her husband. He is sentenced to 21 years in prison. Meanwhile, his sister gives birth to a girl, Sathya (Manasa Varanasi). As she grows up, Krishna (Ashok Galla) falls in love with her. Upon Kamsaraju’s release from jail, what happens to Sathya? What secret has Kamsaraju’s sister been hiding from him? How does Krishna protect his love? The answers lie in the movie. The Performances Ashok Galla clearly worked hard for his role as Krishna, and his efforts are evident on screen. Compared to his previous film, Ashok has improved in both acting and body language. His performance in key emotional scenes is commendable. Manasa Varanasi impresses as the heroine, and her chemistry with Ashok works well. However, she falters in conveying deeper emotions in certain scenes. Devadatta Nage delivers a solid performance as the antagonist, while Devayani does justice to her role as Kamsaraju’s sister. Jhansi shines as the hero’s mother, while supporting actors like Sanjay Swaroop, Shatru, Sridhar Reddy, and Getup Srinu play their parts adequately. The Direction Despite a premise with potential, Prasanth Varma’s story lacks depth. While mythology is woven into the narrative, it feels disjointed and fails to sync with the storyline. Director Arjun Jandyala missed the opportunity to create magic in the screenplay, which falls flat and lacks intrigue. Certain scenes promote superstitions rather than adding value to the narrative. The love track between the lead pair feels underwhelming, and the action sequences between Krishna and Kamsaraju fail to make an impact. Some scenes intended to elevate Krishna’s character come across as overly dramatic. Overall, the direction leaves the audience bored at several points. Technical Aspects On the technical front, Bhims Ceciroleo’s music is a major asset. His background score elevates the action sequences significantly. Prasad Murella’s cinematography is impressive, capturing the essence of the scenes well. Editor Thimmaraju’s work is satisfactory. The production values are high, and there’s no compromise in terms of budget, making the film visually appealing. Telugu Mind-Bender 'Rahasyam Idham Jagath' Takes on Hollywood! 🌀 Time Travel Meets Sri Chakra in This American-Shot Thriller Cast: Rakesh Galebhe, Sravanthi Pattipati, Manasa Veena, Bhargav Gopinatham, Karthik Khandal, Aadi Naidu, Shiva Juturi, and others Director: Komal R. Bharadwaj Music: Gyani Cinematography: Taylor Blumel Editor: Chota K. Prasad Producers: Hiranya, Padma, Komal R. Bharadwaj Release Date: November 8, 2024 'Rahasyam Idham Jagath' stars Rakesh Galebhe, Sravanthi Pattipati, Manasa Veena, Bhargav Gopinatham, and others in key roles. Produced by Padma and Hiranya Ravinuthala under Single Cell Universe Production and directed by Komal R. Bharadwaj, the movie hit theaters today (November 8). Promoted as a film featuring elements of time travel and a multi-universe concept, let’s find out how this film fares. What's the Story The story takes place in America. Akira (Sravanthi) and her boyfriend Abhi (Rakesh) plan a trip to India. Before leaving, they decide to go on a trip with old friends (Vishwa, Kalyan, and Aru). They end up in a remote forest village where Akira’s ex, Vishwa, also joins them. Due to heavy snowfall, they are forced to stay the night in a local hotel. One of Akira’s friends, Aru, a scientist, is researching the concept of the multi-universe. A fight ensues, and Abhi ends up killing Akira and Kalyan. At this point, Aru reveals that there is a way to the multi-universe in the village. Desperate to bring his friends back to life, Abhi starts searching for a wormhole to the multi-universe. What happens next? Does Abhi find the wormhole? Can he save his friends? Do Abhi and Akira end up going to India? This is the story. Performance  Rakesh, known for his hit short films, shines as the lead, particularly in his scenes traveling through the wormhole. Sravanthi impresses as Akira, while Aru fits well in the role of the scientist. Bhargav provides some laughs, and Karthik performs well in a negative role. The fact that the entire shoot took place in America, with training influenced by Hollywood, is evident in the actors' performances. The rest of the cast delivered well within their roles. Direction Director Komal R. Bharadwaj seems to have drawn inspiration from Hollywood films like Inception and Interstellar. However, he creatively connects these concepts with events from Indian mythology to resonate with the local audience. The way he links the multi-universe to the Sri Chakra and the wormhole is intriguing. The first half is mostly about the friends’ trip and conflicts, with the multi-universe element introduced right before the interval. In the second half, Abhi’s search for the wormhole and his time travel to save his friends are depicted. The interval scene and climax add strength to the film. However, the heavy use of American actors, the Hollywood-inspired scenes, and dialogues that lack a local touch are notable drawbacks. Technical Aspects Technically, the film stands out with its impressive visuals and cinematography, especially in the forest locations. However, the background music often overpowers the dialogues. The songs are decent, though dubbing could have been more refined. Production values are high, complementing the film’s theme well. Plus Points Multi-universe storylineMythological link-upCinematography Minus Points Slow first halfLack of commercial elements Telugu.yousay.tv Rating: 2.5/5

'Tatva' on ETV Win: Suspense, Thrills, and Unexpected Twists in Ruthvik Yelagari's Latest Cast: Hima Dasari, Pooja Reddy Bora, Osman Ghani, and others Director: Ruthvik Yelagari Music: Sai Teja Cinematographer: C.H. Sai Editor: Jai C. Sreekar Art Director: Aravind Mule Producer: Manasa Dasari OTT Platform: ETV Win Recently, OTT platforms have been home to many unique stories, with ETV Win bringing a different movie every week to entertain its audience. This week, the suspense thriller 'Tatva' was released directly on OTT. Featuring Hima Dasari and Pooja Reddy Bora as leads, directed by Ruthvik Yalagiri, this hour-long film has hit the screens, but did it win over the OTT audience? Let’s find out in this review. What’s the story? Arif (Hima Dasari) is a regular taxi driver who suddenly finds himself in need of money. In this quest, businessman Thomas (Osman Ghani) rides in Arif’s taxi. Realizing Thomas has the money he needs, Arif plans to get it by any means necessary. Unexpectedly, Thomas is murdered during their interaction, and Arif gets entangled in the case. Police officer Jyotsna (Pooja Reddy Bora) steps in to investigate. Who killed Thomas? How is Arif involved? What is the relationship between Thomas and Arif? Is Arif innocent? The answers unfold only through watching the movie. How did they perform? Although Hima Dasari is the main hero, it’s Osman Ghani who steals the show as Thomas. His portrayal adds depth to the character, making even a smile resonate with underlying intentions. Hima Dasari also captivates as Arif, bringing to life the struggles of a young man. Pooja Reddy landed a significant role, which seems straightforward at first but takes a surprising turn at the climax, pivotal in twisting the story. The film primarily revolves around these three characters, with other actors performing well within their roles. How’s the direction? Having worked as an assistant director for movies like 'Run Raja Run' and 'Saaho,' Ruthvik brings a unique style to this thrilling cinema. The film, which explains the fading humanity within individuals, starts grippingly, especially the first 20 minutes. Ruthvik aims to deliver his points without confusion, wrapping up the film in just 58 minutes, a definite plus. However, some scenes stray from logic and feel incomplete, which could have been refined for better impact. Those expecting commercial elements like songs, fights, romance, or love tracks might find it less appealing. Overall, Ruthvik’s directorial effort is commendable. Technically speaking, The cinematography is notable, especially considering most of the film takes place at night, delivering good visuals even in low light. The background music also strengthens the film's atmosphere. Editing is decent, and production values are high. Technically, 'Tatva' scores well. Plus points: - Characters of Arif and Thomas - Camera work - Background music Minus points: - Lack of commercial elements - Some incomplete climax scenes Telugu.yousay.tv Rating: 2.5/5
