While he completed his primary education in Hyderabad, his higher studies were in Chennai. Nagarjuna's first marriage was on February 18, 1984, with Lakshmi Daggubati, who is the sister of the famous actor Venkatesh. The couple later divorced. He then married Amala, who was the heroine in his film "Siva" in 1992. Nagarjuna and Lakshmi's son, Naga Chaitanya, and Nagarjuna and Amala's son, Akhil, are both currently acting in Telugu films.
