Kali Movie Review: Prince and Naresh Agastya Shine in a Gripping Yet Flawed Drama
Kali Movie Review: Prince and Naresh Agastya Shine in a Gripping Yet Flawed Drama Cast: Prince, Naresh Agastya, Neha Krishnan, C.V.L. Narasimha Rao, Mani Chandana, Kedar Shankar, Madhumani, Gundu Sudarshan, and others Director: Shiva Shesha Music: Jeevan Babu Cinematographer: Ramana Jagarlamudi Editor: Vijay Vardhan Kavuri Producer: T. Leela Goutham Release Date: 04-10-2024 The latest film starring Prince and Naresh Agastya is 'Kali', directed by Shiva Shesha. Neha Krishnan, C.V.L. Narasimha Rao, Mani Chandana, Kedar Shankar, and Madhumani also play significant roles. This film, developed with a unique concept, was released to the audience on October 4. Let's see how the movie is and whether it captivated the Telugu audience in this review. What's the Story? Shivaram (Prince) is a professor at a university who never refuses to help anyone. This quality endears him to Veda (Neha Krishnan), who falls in love with him and confronts her family to marry him. However, Shivaram's goodwill is exploited by his own family members, who conspire to take his property. Betrayed by his brother and uncle, Shivaram becomes deeply disillusioned and attempts suicide, wishing not to be reborn as a human. At this critical moment, Kali Purusha (Naresh Agastya) makes his entry. Just as Shivaram is about to commit suicide, Kali Purusha rings the calling bell and saves him. What changes does Kali bring into Shivaram’s life? What is the connection between Shivaram’s life and the era of Kali? To find out, one must go to the theaters. How Did They Perform? In a refreshing new role as Shivaram, Prince excels with settled acting. Even in scenes without dialogue, his expressions were enough to impress. He made an effort to define himself as an actor by intensifying the scenes. Naresh Agastya shone as Kali, captivating with his stylish performance. The film primarily revolves around these two characters. Neha Krishnan was compelling as Veda within the limits of her role. Other cast members also justified their roles. How's the Direction? Director Shiva Shesha made an attempt to convey that suicide is not a solution to problems and that it is the real problem through this film. Although he chose a message-oriented narrative, he did not neglect commercial elements. He made the story engaging by blending suspense and thriller elements effectively. The movie starts with Shivaram’s background, his family life, love track, and betrayal by family members. The director sped up the story with the arrival of Agastya as Kali. The way Agastya questions Shivaram and tries to show him his mistakes is appealing. The scenes that instill a will to live are spectacular, especially the interactions between Prince and Naresh Agastya. However, the story might feel dragged and centered too much around two characters, and the lack of comedy could be seen as a downside. Technically On the technical front, the music is a major strength. Jeevan Babu's background score notably elevates the scenes. The editing could have been sharper. The cinematography is good, and the visuals are rich. The production values are also high, befitting the film. Plus Points Story Acting by Prince and Agastya Music Minus Points Dragged scenes Editing Telugu.yousay.tv Rating: 2.5/5

Directed by Pradeep Maddali, Megha Akash plays the female lead in this series. Shiju Abdul Rasheed, Raghu Kunche, Amit Tiwari, Mukhtar Khan, and Tarak Ponnappa play key roles in this series that has recently debuted on Zee5. Let's find out how this series is and whether it captivated the OTT audience in this review. The Story The series is set in the 1970s. Ramakrishna (Naresh Agastya) is a renowned detective known for solving complex cases with his intelligence, often assisting the police with pending cases. Meanwhile, people who visit the Hill of Deities in Amargiri village tend to forget their past, believed to be due to a curse by the goddess. A professor, aware of Ramakrishna's detective skills, challenges him to uncover the mystery of the Hill of Deities. What did Ramakrishna find out when he went to the Hill of Deities? Why did Lakshmi (Megha Akash), the granddaughter of the ruler of the Amargiri estate, go with him? How did their acquaintance occur? What is the curse, and did Ramakrishna resolve it? Performance Review Naresh Agastya has impressed as detective Ramakrishna, delivering a settled performance. He has perfected his looks and dialogues, bringing substantial weight to his character with his body language. Megha Akash has played a significant role with finesse, effectively expressing emotions. Raghu Kunche, Shiju Abdul Rasheed, Mukhtar Khan, Ashok Kumar, and Amit Tiwari fit well into their regular roles, with Tarak Ponnappa playing a crucial role. Other cast members have performed to the best of their abilities within their roles. Direction Review Director Pradeep Maddali has successfully led the series to maintain intrigue throughout. His screenplay especially thrills the audience, keeping them engaged without deviating from the storyline. Every character in the story serves a purpose, and their design enhances the thrilling element. While the twists are somewhat predictable, they still engage the audience. However, some scenes could have been depicted more robustly, and at times, the narrative seems to slow down. A few elevation shots could have been better executed to take the series to the next level. Technically Speaking... The technical departments of the series (Vikkatakavi Web Series Review) have performed well. Given the periodic backdrop, the art department excellently recreated the setups and dressing styles of the era. The cinematography effectively transports the audience back in time, and the background music is appealing. The production values are high. Plus Points Story and narrativeNaresh Agastya's actingTwists Minus Points Some predictabilityA few dragging scenes Telugu.yousay.tv Rating: 3/5 TFIDB People visiting the Hill of Deities in Amargiri village tend to forget their past due to a supposed curse. 'Viswam' Movie Review: Can Gopichand and Srinu Vaitla Break Their Dry Spell? Cast: Gopichand, Kavya Thapar, Naresh, Mukesh Rishi, Jisshu Sengupta, Vennela Kishore, Sunil, Sham, Pragathi, Rahul Ramakrishna, Srikanth Iyengar, Prithvi, and others. Director: Srinu Vaitla Music: Chetan Bharadwaj Cinematography: K. V. Guhan Editing: Amar Reddy Producers: Venu Donepudi, T.G. Vishwa Prasad Release Date: October 11, 2024 The latest film 'Viswam' directed by Srinu Vaitla and starring popular actor Gopichand, jointly produced by T.G. Vishwa Prasad and Venu Donepudi, with Kavya Thapar as the heroine, is a test to regain success after both have experienced a drought in hits. Released on October 11, did 'Viswam' bring them the success they were hoping for? Let's find out in this complete review. Plot In Hyderabad, a federal minister (Suman) is murdered. Assassins chase a child who witnessed the murder, intending to kill her. However, Gopireddy (Gopichand), who is acquainted with the child’s family, saves her multiple times from danger. There is a reason behind Gopireddy's acquaintance with the family. What is that reason? Why did Gopireddy distance himself from Samaira (Kavya Thapar) whom he met in Italy? Who really is Gopireddy? Why is he trying to save the child? What is Gopireddy's background? To find out, one must go to the theaters. Performance Actor Gopichand captivates with his settled acting and impresses in action sequences, proving his comedy timing once again with 'Viswam'. However, his role does not offer much variety compared to his previous films; it feels quite routine. Heroine Kavya Thapar doesn’t have much scope in acting but scores well on the glamour front. Naresh, Vennela Kishore, Sunil, and Rahul Ramakrishna bring laughter in the film, especially in the train episode. Other characters have performed well within their roles. Direction Having directed blockbusters like 'Anandam', 'Sontham', 'Venky', 'Dhee', 'Ready', and 'Dookudu', Srinu Vaitla had lost his track recently. Recognizing his strengths and weaknesses, he brought 'Viswam', a mix of action and comedy, back to the audience. However, choosing an outdated story for this film could be seen as a drawback. Punches and the comedy track are the strengths of the film, particularly the sequences involving Vennela Kishore and Prithvi that are sure to leave the audience in splits. The Italy track and the villain’s character feel weak. The hero-heroine love track also feels repetitive. However, the interval scene and the climax manage to engage. Technically On the technical front, Chetan Bharadwaj’s music is decent with two or three good songs, and the background score elevates the scenes well. K.V. Guhan’s cinematography is also commendable. Editing by Amar Reddy could have been sharper. The production values are high, giving each scene a rich look. Plus Points - Gopichand’s acting - Comedy - Background music Minus Points - Outdated story - Dragged scenes Telugu.yousay.tv Rating: 2.5/5

Mechanic Rocky Review: Can Vishwak Sen Deliver a Hat-Trick with This Love-Triangle Thriller? Cast: Vishwak Sen, Meenakshi Choudhary, Shraddha Srinath, Sunil, Naresh, Hyper Aadi, Harsha Vardhan, and othersWriter & Director: Raviteja MullapudiMusic: Jakes BejoyCinematography: Manoj Reddy KatasaniEditing: Anwar AliProducer: Ram TalluriRelease Date: November 22, 2024 Young hero Vishwak Sen has already impressed Telugu audiences this year with Gaami and Gangs of Godavari. Now, he returns with Mechanic Rocky, aiming to charm audiences once again. The film, co-starring Meenakshi Choudhary and Shraddha Srinath, was released grandly on November 22 under the direction of Raviteja Mullapudi. Let’s see how the film turned out and whether Vishwak scored a hat-trick. The Plot Rocky (Vishwak Sen) drops out of his B.Tech and joins his father Ramakrishna's (Naresh) garage as a mechanic. Alongside repairing vehicles, he also teaches driving. Maya (Shraddha Srinath) and Priya (Meenakshi Choudhary) join him to learn driving. During his college days, Rocky falls for Priya, but they part ways after he quits his studies. Years later, Rocky meets Priya again. Does he get closer to her? What shocking truths does Rocky discover about Priya? How does Maya influence their lives? Who is Ranki Reddy (Sunil), and what problems does he bring into Rocky’s life? The answers lie in the film. The Performances Vishwak Sen delivers yet another settled performance, impressing audiences with his energetic portrayal. His punchlines bring humor and charm to his character. Meenakshi Choudhary and Shraddha Srinath shine in their significant roles, with their chemistry and expressions stealing the spotlight. Their on-screen competition in certain scenes enhances the narrative. Vishwak and Meenakshi's chemistry works well, and their romantic track is engaging. Supporting actors like Sunil, Naresh, and Harsha Vardhan also have impactful roles, with Harsha Chemudu’s comedy bringing occasional laughs. Direction Director Raviteja Mullapudi combines a love triangle with a crime thriller, aiming to connect with today’s audience. While the story has strong elements, excessive commercial touches and unnecessary comedy dilute the impact. The first half focuses on character introductions, love tracks, and songs, making it feel somewhat routine and stretched. However, the second half gains momentum, with unexpected twists and turns that elevate the film. The narrative effectively portrays how middle-class dreams can be exploited by others. Had the first half been more engaging, the film could have become a blockbuster. Technical Aspects From a technical standpoint, the film excels. Jakes Bejoy’s background score significantly enhances the storytelling. The cinematography is top-notch, capturing the essence of the film’s mood. However, the editing in the first half could have been sharper. The production values are impressive and align well with the film’s tone. Strengths Vishwak Sen’s performanceThe second halfTwists and turns Weaknesses A lackluster first halfOverdone commercial elements Telugu.yousay.tv Rating: 2.5/5
