She made her acting debut with the Tamil film 'Manmadha Leelai' (1976) and first addressed the Telugu audience with 'Seethapathi Samsaram' (1978). Between 1976 and 1983, she acted in 28 films across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. She married Tamil actor K. Bhagyaraj in 1981. While still active in cinema, she succumbed to a heart ailment in September 1983.
